  1. That is sickening! But still a lot of positives, Collum was shite as usual.
  2. Any news on Ramsays injury? Hope its not bad, would be good to see him get a run in the team.
  3. Is Virtanen a central midfielder? Or can he play a few positions? Id like to see him do well but think he will find it hard to get a regular game in that position for us.
  4. Alex Neil just been sacked. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56477270
  5. What's this Sh@*! about Rangers and Celtic B teams joining league 2. Im not against B teams per se but this is just a proposal to give sporting advantage to them, and is indicative of what's wrong with scottish football. If we look at it based on merit we deserve to have a B team more than the huns who were in that league a few seasons back.
  6. Not sure if anyone has mentioned Chris Wilder. Just got the sack at Sheffield Utd. This season apart he seems to have had a pretty successful managerial career. I don't know if he would come and my only reservation is that he signed Ollie Mcburnie but maybe worth a look.
  7. I think the real failure of the McInnes era is failing to progress in Europe. I know we have had some tough ties and we have never been knocked out by minnows, but we have had some very winnable ties in which we haven't delivered. I think the perfect example of why we haven't been able to do this is the Sporting Lisbon tie this season. McInnes was clearly too in awe of a big club to have a go at them despite the fact we were playing there second string and they had not even played a game this season. As McMaster says in that article its that losers mentality that is holding us back and that came from McInnes. Progress in Europe is the best way to boost the budget. We will never be on a level playing field with the old firm but I believe (and I think that the board do aswell) we can compete if we can get a bit closer to them by raking in some European cash. The other thing I will be watching for in future is the progress of our youth players. I always think that McInnes mismanaged our youth players pretty badly. I think it was Tony Mowbray that said about the Hibs generation that came through under him, It wasn't that these players were miles ahead of any other generation. Its just that they were given the right opportunities at the right time for their development. Giving youth players two minutes at the end of a match or not playing them after they have played well the previous week seem to have been a theme under McInnes and I can't imagine it gives these youngsters the confidence to push on.
  8. And it's really interesting point that McKenna was a home grown talent. One of the things I'm looking forward to with McInnes leaving is finally seeing if we have any other decent kids coming through. Perhaps Ethan Ross will finally get more then a 5 minute cameo.
  9. OK, cheers for clearing that up. Too many names flying around in this thread.
  10. I get what your saying Tom we all need money to live, but you can make a decent living at many clubs without going to the rivals of your team. I would say Football is more emotive then moving between architects, and I would definitely feel more principled in regards to it if I were in that position. But from Fosters point of veiw went to the huns on loan so he probably didn't even make more money.
  11. Maybe it's just me but I always feel like anyone who claims to be an Aberdeen Fan then goes to Rangers has sold out. I mean you must have other options, and usually that would be staying at Aberdeen.
  12. There isnt any stand out candidates at the moment. Glass would be a totally uninspiring appointment and if it went badly there would be a lot of questions to answer. The quote Ive seen from Dave Cormack is: “The club now has the opportunity to appoint a new manager ahead of the new season where, with a number of players out of contract, we have work to do to build a competitive squad.” Which makes it sound as if we are holding off till the summer. If what Graham Hunter says is true and we know who we are going for it can only mean that we have to wait for them to become availiable otherwise we would get them in as soon as possible. I don't see the logic of holding off till the summer to bring Glass in as the MLS is played over the summer so hopefully that rules him out. But if Im correct that means its someone who already has a club.
  13. I agree. He won't have been told that but I feel like he's considering moving on anyway and that's why his hearts not in it. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a mutual agreement in the summer for us to part ways. He should be able to pick up another job at a reasonable level as over the years he has done a good job generally.
  14. I'm all for a foreign manager, just in the interest of trying something different and getting away from the reverence of the in firm. But I think we just generally need a manager who will give our own skillful youth players a chance.
  15. He does say "whether that's at Aberdeen or elsewhere" which suggests he's not ruled out signing another deal. But if he keeps going the way he is any new deal would surely need be based on him being in first team. I think he would deserve that opportunity, but knowing McInnes it wouldn't surprise me if he gets told he will be a backup and goes elsewhere.
  16. I forgot to change mine. Looks like it will be a pretty poor points tally again this season.
  17. McInnes seems to be having a little bit of a dig at the board for the January dealings post match St Mirren. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/55959970 Another sign that his and the boards relationship has soured.
  18. Livingston on easy street here.
  19. Horrible own goal by Lewis. Not a great start.
  20. Good luck to him. I hope he does well. If he can score goals in the championship there will no doubt be silly money paid for him and I'm sure we have a sell on clause.
  21. Would hope there is an option to purchase if he does well. Otherwise we will need to find someone else come summer. Edit: Just read the article. No option to buy which just means we are developing him for Stade Reims which is depressing.
  22. Reckon Anderson will be another one of these youngsters where we just don't know how it would have worked out if he was given a chance. I think managers who have a good track record of bringing through youth do so because they know how to inspire confidence in youngsters and give them opportunities at the right time. I don't see McInnes giving him a proper run before the end of the season and being restricted to five minute cameos at the end of games must become demoralising for youngsters after a point.
  23. Really frustrating to see any of our players going to the Rangers, but I agree with whats been said above. We haven't handled his development well so I'm not really surprised Wright doesn't feel particularly loyal to the club. You never know if a player will choose to wind down his contract but if he had been getting regular games and developing surely it would make him think twice. The worst thing is that at the moment he is making the team tick and is an important part of the attractive game we are trying to play.
  24. I think there is great potential in this squad but its not currently better then the one that pushed Celtic under Deila. I think we are also going to struggle to keep this squad together long enough to fulfill its potential. I can't see most of these guys wanting to stick around for longer than there current contracts.
  25. You are jumping the gun though. The manager said the huns are interested. There is nothing to say he will end up there. I'm not going to say he definitely won't go there but until he signs for someone you have to give him the benefit of the doubt.
