  1. I think if we push them we have a good chance of getting something, They are bound to tire as the match goes on. Hook Mcgeough and get wright on.
  2. We should get wright signed up for another couple of years at least, we can always look to extend his contract if he keeps up the good performances. Always leaves a bit to chance if we let it get to December/January and hes playing well then gets approached by other clubs. Speaking about Hedges when is his deal up? Did he sign on for 3 years or was it just 2?
  3. If Sporting are ravaged by coronavirus then as said above this could be our best opportunity to make the group stages. As you have to beat the a big team somewhere along the way and that tie is definitely winnable.
  4. On another slightly related subject with Motherwell going to extra time and penalties they should be tired come Sunday. Which will hopefully make things easier for us.
  5. I think we were reasonably good against Kairat at Pittodrie. If I remember we had a good go and just lacked that bit of composure in the final third. Think it was winnable, but like a few here I wouldn't call this team bottlers.
  6. Bit gutted if the Viking game isn't on Premier as I subscribed for a month just before the runavik game and I wouldn't have bothered if it was just for one match. It says Redtv is audio only for the UK, does this mean its not on anywhere?
  7. I still don't understand why nobody was willing to stump up the cash for him last season when he had I think second most assists in the league, if he was English he would have gone for 50+ million. I don't know if we were just unlucky with this one, but it would have been a real boost. I also see that Sheffield Utd are away to sign Max Lowe
  8. I don't think it necessarily does, It depends how much he wants to continue. He's been a great servant to the club over the years but I think his best days are behind him and unless Hernandez is a complete flop he wont be a starter most weeks. Might still get a couple of rolling year contracts as a back-up.
  9. Anything other then 1 would be incredibly difficult. Even Malmo are no mugs, although I know little about Honved. That said in a one off game anything is possible.
  10. Going back a bit to the Michael Hector situation, I read an article previously where he said that Chelsea was his club, so I'm sure that had a large bearing on him joining them. Obviously for his career it probably wasn't the best move in the end but its easy to say in hindsight.
  11. Have to say I'm pretty astonished at how sensible an approach this is from the SFA. Was expecting them to throw the book at us. They even took into account the more serious nature of Bolingoli's offence and punished accordingly.
  12. Anyone have a link to Considine's comments?
  13. Looks like a bit of a rotation. Its a bit annoying that we have Anderson available but have still chosen to bring in Watkins and start him. There definitely needs to be more emphasis on getting the youngsters into the first team.
  14. A decent result given the lack of forwards and how off the pace we looked. We will need to be better going forward but hopefully that is us back up and running.
  15. Was just away to comment asking if he was an offensive cm. We could probably play a defensive midfield 11 if we wanted now. I really don't get this signing.
  16. While I agree that they were stupid and deserve some sort of punishment Im not sure I like the idea of it being decided retrospectively, as I get the feeling if it were 8 first team players from either of the old firm we would be moving on pretty quickly. I would hope the club has already disciplined them via fines to their wages or such like. If there were previously agreed sanctions of course I would accept them being applied, as they would apply equally to all clubs. Its something the ever competent SPFL failed to set out though.
  17. I don't think Gleeson was a terrible player he had a couple of good games but it did seem he lacked the engine (perhaps just because he was never properly fit). I think failed to live up to the expectations a lot of fans especially as its speculated he was bought in on a decent wage. The general consensus seems to be that we should be doing better in transfers, McInnes has really struggled to re-build the squad over the last few seasons.
  18. I think Harvie left because of the lack of game time, apparently him and Shankland were buddies and that is why they both ended up at Ayr. From what I've heard McInnes wanted to keep them both. I hope with Cosgrove and Main being out Anderson can take his chance this Saturday.
  19. I think a lot will depend on the Cosgrove and McKenna situations. Of course we could end up selling Cosgrove and Bruce Anderson might step in and do even better based on his pre-season form. But I'm just not sure how things will go at the moment.

  21. I agree with Rocket that I would have liked to see Shinnie play at left back for us. At the time when he came in it was the position that needed filled although I think the best approach is probably somewhat flexible. I also think its undeniable that Jack is a technically better player. I don't necessarily see that Shinnie or Jack jobs were to be creative though, as they are defensive midfielders it was the wingers and the guy in front (Hays, McGinn, Maclean) who where our creative players. Sure it would be great if they could play those defense splitting passes that you were talking about, but if they could they would both be playing at a higher level then they are.
  22. Surely if B teams are going to be involved it should be for teams who haven't played in the lower leagues recently and have never been relegated.
  23. In most cases it was completely inadequate anyway. Now its been shown to be irrelevant even in the minority of cases where it was supposed to apply. Really wish UEFA would get some balls and turn football back into a sport rather than just a business.
  24. To a degree it still applies though, I get that they may be trying to drive the price down in negotiations but the amount of times clubs fail to get these deals over the line because its last minute. Plus you would think if bids had been being made over the last few weeks Cosgrove would have been aware and had time to make a decision on what he would do if an agreement was reached. Anyway I'm not sad that hes staying we need his goals and its not like the funds will be used to strengthen the team.
  25. Its strange how clubs leave there bids till the very last minute. I know it suggests that he wasn't there first target but you would think they could at least make there mind up a few days before the window shut.
