  1. I must say, I am absolutely devastated that my credibility on 'Donstalk' is now at an all-time low. Your board and the millions of posts are held with such great esteem within the online world (both within and outwith Aberdeen FC) that today possibly is a all time low in terms of my 'www' use. But we go away, we reflect, and think about where it all went wrong. I know there will come a day when Donstalk (this wonderful, brilliant and 'witty' world class forum/board) will maybe not be held in the esteem it currently is - ( I know for example that many of the world foremost writers come on here for 'quotes' and to 'brainstorm') but lets just take two steps back and give you all a round of applause. Personally, I think Donstalk should be nominated for one of these Nobel Peace prizes. In fact, I just heard Donstalk currently ranks #1 for 'online innovation'. Min.
  2. Amidst all the splutter, hatred, vengefulness and fan led virtual keyboard tapping (can you all not start a online petition or something?) Just a few words and pointers: 1:Mr Milne regularly hosts Doncaster and Regan at his house for dinner. 2: Milne wants a 10 team top flight and guaranteed 4 games a season v Rangers/Celtic. 3: If Milne had his way Rangers would never had gone down to 4th tier. Finally, while making trophy titles rangers won unassigned would make sense NOT ONE of you speaks any rational sense. Its all just spitting bitterness and shite. Personally, I just wish our club had a local rival as the obsession with Rangers is cringeworthy.
  3. Not my fault I am much more intelligent than you. Certainly, Rangers FC deserves a bit more respect on here. It's a very historically rich club (like Celtic FC) and both have an important role in Scottish football - alongside us. Oh, and Glasgow is a great city.
  4. I am sure Rangers FC and the HMRC are absolutely 'quaking' in their brown brogue shoes as regards what the Donstalk virtual kangaroo court thinks of them.
  5. They were already relegated to League 2 - 2012 and had to win a place back at SPL which turned out to be harder than they thought as it took 4 years rather than 3. They were liquidated much like Fiorentina, Napoli, Strasbourg, Parma were and reformed as a new club - Rangers 2012 which took on badge, history, stadium of former club. This type of club reformation happens all over Europe - it occurs all the time. RFC were punished - no point denying they were not punished - not true. Although I would agree titles won using tax avoidance schemes should make title wins "void" as obviously facts would suggest you won these unfairly by pursuing financial advantages. The majority of the players (Amoruso, Buffel, Klos) only rolled up to Ibrox because of the cash and tax relief on offer. Questions remain of SFA although it would appear Campbell Ogilvie had to relinquish his post as the President of the SFA in 2015 although how he got this job post-2012 is a little strange given his involvement in EBT. I just think the whole thing (from an SFA and RFC perspective) smells of the sort of cliquey, nepotism, cronyism executive decision making type stuff that goes on at the top of many businesses. Semi corrupt committee members - in house bad governance. Its political + money, TV deals involved and concerns for Scottish game without Rangers means SFA made political decisions - all be it Rangers were demoted. Hasten to add, football at an administrative governance level globally is rather political and muddy. You only have to look at UEFA and FIFA to see that.
  6. 60 caps, well experienced, steady influence, good attitude. But to be honest the whole scenario looks agent driven. A player who played for Aberdeen some time ago, could not want to get away to earn more money and suddenly without a contract he states 'I would like to sign for you'. God knows what McInnes thinks of it all - what is sure is that mcInnes is ego driven and wants players he wants and chases not players who come out of nowhere to say 'gees a contract'. IS McInnes really interested in him? Probably not - its so transparent its incredible - agent driven trying to engineer a move.
  7. Mess. There are HMRC implications out of this ruling for football clubs and football players everywhere - some I guess (like Rangers FC) can declare themselves 'bankrupt'. As regards the SFA in its current guise (Regan and Doncaster) it's now too weak to do anything out of all this, e.g. stripping titles as it was all done under their governance of the game. IMO best course of action is Regan and SFA board inc. Doncaster are binned ASAP. Fresh governance and leadership is required at top of the Scottish game. ps. All this stripping titles stuff does is pander to Celtic and Old Firm one-upmanship they live on. As they want to be handed most of the titles. If they want to strip SPL wins from RFC make the winners 'unassigned' (as was done with a few in Italy with Calciopoli)
  8. Ok, thanks for that and clarifying. But the question now is whether Derek McInnes has a Rangers clause in his contract as this Pedro gadgie is on the way out.
  9. I saw it and Rangers were a shambles. It reminded me of the 2nd leg v Fola Esch where we were all over the place. 2 of the players playing for Progres Niederkorn played against us last year including the guy scored first goal v Rangers tonight - Francoise. I hope we get it together next week and get a lead v Siroki/Ordabasy as these catastrophic results are becoming more and more common for all Scottish clubs - even Celtic!!
  10. Kari Arnason played as a midfielder for Aberdeen if I recall or largely as a buffer between midfield and defence. He was slow then and got by through his class and experience. He joined Omonia Nicosia in January and was freed recently and is now on the look out for a club. From his track record McInnes has a track record of avoiding foreign EU players and seeks to build his squad via UK, Irish type players. Arnason would be a good squad addition IMO - age means nothing in the game but they need a 20-28yrs fresh and powerful leader at the back. Someone who can be 2nd captain and has sell on value. Celtic do it all the time - they need a 26 year old with potential who can be sold on. Arnason won a lot of friends during his last term via making various statements which won him supporter votes but not really what the backlines needs but certainly has squad filler potential - subs bench via potential steadying influence.
  11. Basically considering signing Arnason is a 'sentimental buy'. McInnes most probably has no interest in him whatsoever, he is experienced but past it. Fans are proposing buying him via sentimental motivations - he is as over the hill as McNaughton. In their day great players but not now.
  12. Kari Arnason is exactly same age as Kevin McNaughton.
  13. The BBC reported at 9.10pm that the deal was in doubt or on hold due to injury concerns Maloney has now flagged up. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/40450094
  14. Would guess (never having been party to a medical) that medicals are not as black and white as fit / not fit. If anything Shaun Maloney has always come across as a very quiet lad who does not say much and if anything its that he maybe is a bit quiet for that dressing room which can be explosive and noisy - and that is true. It's clear it's dragging on a while longer than was hoped - but McInnes did say he wants to conclude the deal at Maloney's pace.
  15. I think someone got the words twitter, strong and rumours mixed up. This rumour as to his hip looks like #fakenews Sign of the times, this sort of shit* is rife on Twitter.
  16. Kenny McLean has had 2 seasons at the club. For one and a half seasons of that period at Aberdeen, he has flattered to deceive. It was only last Oct, November that Willie Miller, Richard Gordon and a few others were saying on Sportsound he had to give that little bit more and offer some dig. For some reason December and January this year onwards his form has been outstanding. Passes, touches, flicks, good possession. No doubts Kenny McLean is a popular guy in the dressing room and did well end of last season. But because his transfer involved a transfer fee he has always been McInnes's pet player. Seemingly undroppable he has always been a favourite of McInnes. He is born and bred Cambuslang - big Glasgow guy. Its obvious he will end up back down the road at some point. Best thing is to get him signing a new deal - tell him to play well this season and he is nailed on guaranteed to get a move next summer and club gets some cash. Overall, would not be too bad to lose him. Christie is the man now. Far more influential a player.
  17. Heard AFC has shifted approx 9,000 and estimate a maximum of 10500 sold. Some other clubs have made announcements - Hearts 13,000, Hibs 14,500. At the start of June it was estimated Aberdeen had shifted only 7,500.
  18. Without going into detail anything said on here about 'me', in response, in reply as a Donstalk user is taken with a pinch of salt. Doesn't bother me, not a problem and its viewed by me as just total online worthless opinions. And that is about it.
  19. No debate about Mulgrew. He was good at dead ball - but it became a bit daft at Aberdeen at the end. One game v Dunfermline a free kick was given to the Dons at our own corner flag i.e. near our defensive box. Mulgrew took it and lumped it into the opposition box. The tactics were not really any tactics; just Calderwood saying to Mulgrew - kick the ball into the box from a free kick wherever it is given on the field of play. Maloney will be offering presence in and around the box.
  20. Siroki Brijeg will get through bar a daft collapse. They all are mostly Croats in the team. 98% of the population of that town is Croatian. Having looked at them its a similar match opposition wise to the one v Shkendija. They are very very beatable.
  21. Mulgrew was a one trick pony at Aberdeen. He took everything at Pittodrie. Maloney's figs speak for themselves at all levels. Free signing - make him a sub. Fine.
  22. Maloney is pure class. Very good technique, brilliant at free kicks. Can play where he wants on the forward line. McGinn and Hayes swapped regularly.
