  1. Why would a small group of guys who are trying to create noise, colour, energy for the benefit of the team want to be part of a "majority" who are miserable, sit on their arse and pick their noses and spend game complaining about bias towards Rangers and the HT pies not being good?
  2. It will cost more for fans to get into the stadia in any eventuality of Kingsford. Prices go up not down. It will also cost more to get to it via travel and the food inside will cost more and the hotels in Kingswells/Westhill charge more for coffee/beer etc than the Pittodrie Bar/Golf club does. There is a very long track record of negative issues over a number of years as regards the bad attitudes within the club towards the red ultras group. I'm not the one to comment on this as was never a member but I know what went on. There is no Red Ultras group anymore. The fact that it is dead inside the stadium speaks for itself. God knows what McInnes makes of it all - it does absolutely nothing whatsoever for the team or players. The other night the FOX IN THE BOX flag was ordered to be removed by one of the directors. It was in Y Section front. They are simply suited idiots - not interested in creating any sort of anything inside the stadium only making money.
  3. Thanks for your interjection Sherlock. The names have been changed to protect the innocent. If you look at the 'plans' for this Kingsford thing you will see - no standing section. THAT is the bloody evidence. And if you think that the cost of entry is going to go DOWN in the eventuality of a Kingsford move (which will be killed off in October anyway) then you are sadly mistaken.
  4. Well the club have an agenda to kill off atmosphere at Pittodrie. That strategy is part of the selling the Kingsford idea. What they havn't told you is that the standing section at Kingsford is a pack of lies - it will not happen. Oh, and they have never mentioned either that it will be £32 to get in (plus the £1 booking fee).
  5. It's a shame what happened to Red Ultras. However, it's totally unsurprising given the club wants nothing whatsoever to do with creating any sense of atmosphere at Pittodrie and majority of fans whose interest is to turn up sit down and pick their nose during the game and throw half eaten pies onto the pitch.
  6. Apollon is playing some UEFA games currently in Larnaca in the newer AEK stadium although AEL will play in Limassol. It's likely that we will be playing in Larnaca if we get through which is a shame as Limassol is nicer but 75km away. Alternatively, Apollon might decide to play us at Anorthosis Famagusta also Larnaca ground which is bigger.
  7. It's true though. We were extremely lucky v Fola Esch and should have gone out. Same v Shkendija - very lucky. Just the facts. Could go about beat Siroki 3-0 but it looks bad currently.
  8. 1st half was ok. 2nd half awful. We have been extremely lucky v Shkendija + Fola. Fear we are out.
  9. Yes. AEL and Apollon dislike each a lot. We would be able to use the AEL fans bar in the city centre in Limassol, they'd probably make Dons fans welcome. It's pretty much next to all other bars anyway. Although on the walk to the ground Dons fans would have to walk past Apollon fan bar which is not far from the stadium. As the stadium has one side blue/yellow and one side blue/white (Apollon) we will be in the blue / yellow sector i.e. AEL area. Austria Wien state on its website likely to change fixture dates and they play AEL.
  10. Limmassol great place. Massive beach, pubs, bars and easy to get about. Sea breezes at night. They are beatable - the ground is old school. Athletics track with two stands that look like Dens Park main stand. They Appollon have very noisy and rowdy fans. They are loud, not many of them but loud.
  11. I'd presume Wright was named as a sub as he needs to declare a full squad and has not much players available. Wright has had 0 minutes so far this summer. For what it's worth I'd also rather see Wright play and get a game regularly as with lots of young players. They need the experience. However, it's clear our manager is not a fan of youngsters being played - full stop. Wright will probably go out on loan when Maloney comes in.
  12. You'd think you'd be long enough in the tooth to know that Celtic are miles bigger than us as a club??? It's not a question of inferiority begging for players its just that they are miles bigger a club with a huge squad. It would be rather foolish of our manager to not get v.good loan players in from most the successful team. What do you think McInnes would think about your attitude towards Christie - clearly the best player now in the squad? What would he say to you?
  13. UEFA competition at every level is set up to favour strongest teams, from the more successful countries, getting through. Unfortunately, the bigger nations hold a lot of political clout when it comes to UEFA competition and given influence of important financial partners i.e. business wants to see big boys getting through, then draw is based on the coefficient of club/nation. It's a branded competition with big money available and huge financial pots of money from sponsors. However, the groups are randomly created ensuring an effective mix of teams at lower and higher end of coefficient hence Gent 45. and Apollon 10 - see www.uefa.com Obviously, there are a lot of Aberdeen fans think every draw is rigged in favour against us and every draw is biased towards Celtic and Rangers (I know this as I met some of them last night in the pub) but its a fair draw with range of potential fixtures.
  14. A game v Everton is not a glamorous fixture potentially?? Come on - I'd love to see Aberdeen play them they are a very famous traditional team.
  15. It's live on UEFA. Game v Everton glamorous - worth a lot of money
  16. The tactics is Lewis kicks ball to Considine who heads on. 3rd Round Draw we will face potentially: Gent (BEL) coefficient 35.480 Sparta Praha (CZE) 48.135 Astra Giurgiu (ROU) or Zirë (AZE) 17.870 Everton (ENG) 29.192 Marítimo (POR) 14.866 Apollon Limassol (CYP) or Zaria Balti (MDA) 10.710
  17. Maynard is not a poacher. Adam Rooney is. Rooney game is tap ins, pens but the Maynard game gives more than that. Rooney alone upfront is no use. Moult can be signed but would not be eligible for europe and at the moment we are going out. Of course Rooney and Maynard are capable. But no point playing Rooney alone especially when the two best players from the team are now gone! I cannot see the AFC board sanctioning £500k for moult. No chance. They need to go for it next week - or we are out.
  18. Moult would not be eligible. Rooney and Maynard are totally different both great but not alone FFS and isolated!! 1st half was fine. 2nd half bossed off the field totally. Tactically out thought, they were fitter and much sharper - 55th to 80th minute of the game the crucial period. No point Rooney alone upfront. Its not a friendly v Brechin City. Its top level competitive football and your main forward was a passenger. Also, this is Euro football. They dive a lot - deal with it. This team are nothing special. Same level as Fola Each, Shkendija maybe less. On positive note 1-0 at home is often a killer. But its 1-1. They might defend and think the job is done. Not got a good feeling - I fear the worst as there is no shape to the team yet and McInnes knows it. One last thing - McLean, Kenny.....his mind is elsewhere! blue boots!!!!
  19. At the moment going out. That can all change providing players get sharp over next week. We have loads better players but they had better shape, fitness and tactics 2nd half. Two strikers upfront please! Rooney alone does not work especially so Hayes, niall gone. Christie is best player by a mile. Stop kicking every ball from Joe lewis to Considine to head on. No intensity, no atmosphere at all. Siroki had 12 fans who sang whole game. Going out unless turn up next week and score.
  20. McGinn could not tackle a fish supper. 6 months before Euro 2016 he wouldn't go in for a challenge. I think its GMS body shape, languid lop sided style that gives impression he is weak. But Willo Flood was an 8st leprechaun and it never stopped him going for a tackle.
  21. Not at all. Wouldn't dream of it - defeats are part of being a fan. Near Tynecastle in a certain location I've seen him. Its either his or his girlfriends house. And he has just had one of those fancy hair transplants done!
  22. I Kane where abouts GMS lives - either that or its his girlfriends flat. Seen him several times when running back from the gym.
  23. Welcome to a very good player with excellent technical skill. It might have been his recent hair transplant that slowed up the deal however.....
  24. It was 2-0 in a mock game in St Andrews. They say behind closed doors but it was easy to watch. After we played, it was Dundee United v Peterhead - Paul Quinn and Willo Flood were playing for United. Doncaster Rovers also lost 10-0 yesterday v St Johnstone - u20 team Doncaster team. There was a 6" defender as well - in red. A Croat with Bundesliga experience. The team have scored 8 goals in 3 pre season games so clearly goals have not dried up.
