  1. Unfortunately for those of you who want to move to Kingsford that also costs a lot - at the moment £50m. Aside from that it's not going to get past ACC come October so at the moment is costs that are being spunked on plans and nothing else.
  2. The ones I know what Cathro out. Out of his depth and some players want him out as well (source: Youth coach). Not a manager - good coach, but not a club manager. The stand is coming along, and supposedly opening in 6 weeks but might be a delay. Certainly, there is a shortfall in funding.
  3. You are the one ignoring evidence (both historical and current) that many clubs are incarnations of previously existing clubs. Included amongst that are Gretna 2008, Rangers, Fiorentina, Napoli, Parma, Lyn, Hereford, Maidstone etc etc etc. I think you are just creating an argument for the sake of it. If you watch or go and watch Gretna (as I have done) it is exactly the same club in name, colour, badge, strip, ground, social club as the old club. I take it if OUFC goes bust the reformed club will be completely different and not related to the original?
  4. Again Oxford Don - desperate mate. Very desperate. Anyone with any understanding of football culture, history, clubs knows that current clubs such as Gretna, Fiorentina, Napoli, Parma, Aldershot, Accrington Stanley, Lyn Oslo, Strasbourg are the same club or at least a continuation of the previous incarnation. Same fans, same colours, same badge, largely same ground, same intellectual property etc. I am afriad (swallow your pride) Rangers are the same club. May have folded, may have went bankrupt and liquidated - but its same set of fans, same name, same stadium, same ethics, same support, same chants, same tea ladies etc. And its the same at Gretna - same badge different incarnation. YOU (and lots of the people on here) know that if Oxford United ever go bust in the near future, the re constituted club - see Hereford, Maidstone, Aldershot, Accrington etc - will be followed by the same group of fans, wearing same colours all looking back on same history. Like a few others on here. Can I suggest (Oxford Don) you take all your bitterness towards Rangers, and all your hate and all your misguided flawed arguments about them, and maybe look at Rangers in the harsh reality of other examples? Namely - Fiorentina, Napoli, Aldershot, Lyn, Hereford, GRETNA, Rapid Bucharest, Parma. Meantime bud, I have a team to follow (Aberdeen) the only one in Scotland bothered about. See you in Cyprus - or maybe not given you'll be on here rabbitting about Rangers.
  5. Listen, mate, I am well aware you like to come on here and issue out lots of name calling at me to me - I am fed up of it. If you want me to start back you narrow-minded tcheuter arsehole I can. Basically anything ~ I post ~ you come on and disagree with. At the root of it is the Stadium issue. Basically I can count 4 or 5 insults you have thrown at me on here you wanker. You sit right and home with your bitterness to Rangers and throw your insults about. See that last post - make it your last reply to me on here. Wanker.
  6. Was always going to be tight. Must go over to Cyprus with attacking intent as they are very comfortable on the ball. Until the Argentine guy was sent off they were controlling it or at least looking more dangerous - same v Siroki. Sending off changed it. We won't play teams with that quality of passing and movement in the SPL. Have to be optimistic. If we keep them out then we are through - this could easily have ended up 1-2 them. Pleased - great attitude, good goals, good optimism in the forward play with all goals coming from midfield. If we go out not much we can beat ourselves up about so far. We gave it a good go as they are decent.
  7. Same pattern as v Siroki and v Maribor last year. Dominant, passing the ball and a lot of intensity. Then it just died a death. But played well as Apollon are good team.
  8. All 3 clubs you mention are reconstituted variations on the older original clubs using in almost all cases similar if not totally identical intellectual property (club badge), tap into same fan base and list same historical achievements under club history. I am afraid Oxford Don your argument is highly flawed and you've either not done your research or are arguing for arguing sake.
  9. You'll 'go to your grave' over this issue - wow! Mind boggling just the extent to which anti-Rangers sentiment has take over the motivations of some Dons fans existence. May I suggest, maybe channelling these feelings it into something more positive? Life is too short to spend time worrying about whether Rangers are Rangers or Rangers FC 2012 or whatever.
  10. Yes, but the point is there is only one league below League II (Lowland League). Winners of that league go to Scottish League II. It would not mattered if Rangers had gone to Lowland League they would have won it at a breeze as its so weak and full of semi professional, University teams. It would not have mattered if they went down to Juniors or SoSFL as they would have won those and came back. Clubs in these leagues anyway can jump through hoops anyway depending on how big they are via club licensing agreements in order to make it through leagues. Kelty Hearts (biggest team in Juniors East) are now in EoSFL and Eduport Academy as in Lowland league thanks to SFA, SPFL - these clubs can reach SPL. When Rangers were demoted and went bust they could only start in League II - it was only league at that time (2012) where a professional club could go. Gretna were kicked out of the league like Rangers, reconstituted as Gretna and reformed - playing at same ground, same kit, same colours and got a playing license and are in Lowland league. Parma went bust, reformed and went into Serie D and are now in Serie B. I get forums are about opinion - great but the context of arguments on here are not based on thought or rationale. If Aberdeen FC led some campaign to strip Rangers of titles (which some have called for) then we would be putting ourselves as a club at the forefront of potential legal proceedings from Rangers and find it hard to get out of being implicated in them!
  11. I don't think that is correct. Lots, as in LOTS of clubs go bankrupt and are liquidated and cease to exist. These clubs then reform using same branding, logo etc and start in lower league. This has happened in lots of leagues and lots of cases all around Europe and probably the world. I will give you some similar cases to Rangers: Italy: Fiorentina, Parma and Napoli France: Strasbourg Norway: Lyn Oslo England: Wimbledon, Accrington Stanley, Aldershot, Chester City Scotland: Airdrieonians, Gretna Belgium: RWD Molenbeek Romania: Rapid Bucharest Wales: Newport County There are many other cases of clubs going bust and reforming and starting lower down league ladder. Clubs go bust, reform and there is nothing you can do to prevent them reforming, reconstituting and taking on the intellectual rights and property, playing license of former clubs especially so a club like Rangers which has 100,000's fans worldwide. In the realms of this argument, a lot of people seem to think Rangers should have ceased to exist permanently. The SFA can't just liquidate a club and then refuse a playing license especially a club like Rangers. Impossible - would not happen to a club of that size, with the fans and stadia they have. They could easily have gone to the Lowland League but they would still have fought way back to SPL given huge resources they have. Even Gretna have been able to reform and can theoretically be back in SPL in 5 years. They are in Lowland League playing East Stirling etc Parma is already back in Seria B after being in Serie D2. Rangers in whatever guise were punished. No point saying otherwise. They probably cant be stripped of titles as huge legal implications involved with it! Obviously, Aberdeen Mad and Donstalk want them stripped of titles such is life on planet cyber but it's not the reality of the situation is it?
  12. You may be a golfer but not I would guess an expert in Law, Scots law, sporting law. Neither is this 'remove the titles' thing simply a round of golf, it's pretty obvious given what has gone on in Italy it's a massive legal minefield. The SFA clearly can't just remove the titles and that is the end of it - there are courts, appeals, arbitration courts, supreme courts, appeals to courts, civil cases - see Serie A and FIGC (re: Juventus case) - its still going on 13 years later. IMO too many Reds have gotten knickers in a twist of this matter and Rangers. Rangers were punished whether you like it or not - that is a statement of fact in that they were demoted to League II, reformed and are now back in top flight. I could not give a flying hoot or wish to argue over whether its old Rangers, new Rangers, middle rangers or whatever. Maybe a forum is not the place for people to see objectively and sensibly but if you can't see stripping the titles would lead to years if not decades of legal fights and arguments - that AFC our club could do without - then you are blind.
  13. Got to laugh at Police Scotland. People queue up for ages to spend £25 to buy a ticket only for that lot from Queen St to announce that everyone is getting watched and laws will be 'robustly enforced'. Shower of complete morons.
  14. Most of them work long hours or many of them are at home with the wife having bed time hot chocolate and cookies. That sort of thing....
  15. Not making reference to any of the other comments on here with respect to this matter - it was also good to see McInnes not commenting on it in anyway at pre match press conference when asked by Steven Duff. Everyone's view is different, its all matter of opinions on forums but ultimately the legal system holds sway and is probably in best place to keep us all in the right. Few last points - similar issue in Italy all be it a different type of jiggery pokery as 2004-5, 2006 Serie A titles were revoked due to Calciopoli by Italian courts although Juventus themselves it would seem still regard it as a title wins. The whole case has been beset by civil and criminal trials over arguments against 'advantages' and lost revenues and damage to reputations and brand. This included a €443 million lawsuit against the FIGC. You think the SFA want to open themselves up to multi million pound lawsuits? Its unlikely any of us on here are lawyers and even if you are are probably not experts on such matters. What is certain is that its not simply a case of 'withdrawing titles' or 'making them void' or awarding them to someone else. A case against Rangers and more action would probably involve years if not a decade worth of legal wranglings in courts including civil cases and criminal cases. This would almost certainly costs clubs via tv revenue loss, and would cost clubs (including Aberdeen) lots of money; when to be honest its reputation is pretty much rock bottom anyway in a football sense. Calls for Dundee United, Aberdeen, Hearts etc to lead a campaign of pressure on SFA to take action are too be honest typical of fans but in real world daft and misguided. Clubs are businesses whether you like it or not and involved in same industry as Rangers attracting same revenue streams. Aside from legal complexity of further action against Rangers, it's unlikely Milne and his fellow club chiefs are going to put big pay days from TV companies at risk is it? These revenue streams, TV deals are what holds finances of game together in Scotland. Only winner in any further proceedings against Rangers would be law firms and lawyers. Might get some folk on here a few bragging rights but AFC would make absolutely £0 (zilch) out of Rangers titles being withdraw. Lot to lose, nothing to gain.
  16. Message from AEL Limassol today as regards game v A.Vienna: "Hello! At the previous game there were tickets available (on the night). Probably there will be again this time. But the presale hasn't started yet"
  17. Anorthosis Famagusta said they will openly sale tickets to fans on the night (they are the host). The last AEL home tie against Progress Neiderkorn was attended by 3,700 at the same stadium. Its an 11,000 seat stadium, it's just walk up and buy tickets on the night - 7pm kick off. Won't really be able to buy tickets for the Vienna end only main stand - neutral zones. Its same for our game. Austria Vienna fans will be able to buy tickets but probably not for our end. AEL Limassol probably are not dealing with admin of fan entry on the night - probably being left to Famagusta. It's like us playing our home leg game in Dundee where Dundee would deal with it on night.
  18. For those travelling, tickets for AEL Limassol versus Austria Vienna on Wed will be available on the day at the Anorthosis stadium. 30 mins walk from centre of Larnaca. Austria Vienna has sold out its charter fight for fans so Dons fans will be sharing Larnaca pubs with plenty Austria Vienna fans guaranteed good relations on the day!
  19. Apart from the fact that in October Kingsford is going to get rejected anyway by the Council so Pittodrie will never be demolished. I will be having a laugh at your expense when your disgrace of a 'football Stadium' plan gets the final nail driven into it by ADC.
  20. Equally not a fan of posh git accents. (Or american accents). But Derek McInnes doesn't need the shadow of this rangers shit in background. Its a hinderence, distraction and nothing to do with us.
  21. Have nothing whatsoever personally against small town dwellers including those from Tongue, Elrick, Banff etc etc or wherever. He lives in some mansion in Bieldside you'd think he develop a posh voice by now. But Milne comes across as a stereotypical country idiot - for a successful multi millionaire self-made man who is wealthy and must interact with all sorts of business people in different industry sectors where presentation skills, professional demeanour is required he does not come across well at all. He cannot even dress properly last time seen him he was wearing some baggy black shirt looked stupid. He cannot make public announcements properly and just does not come across well at all so leave it to George Yule or PR team! Statements about things that should be left well alone - he puts his foot in it all the time. Same as comments about fans buying season tickets to allow derek to buy players (when you've just made £1.3m on Hayes!) McInnes doesn't need all this shi*e talk verbals about rangers in background. Can Milne not just stay in the background? - He must have daily responsibilities at his business interests.
  22. Whatever, no problem. Aside from that Milne is a house seller - he sells lots of hooses to people in Lanarkshire, Strathclyde, Renfreshshire, Glasgow and in the central belt. Hundreds of hooses - its how he keeps profit coming in and how he lines his pockets with wads of cash. It would not be good business for Stewart Milne Homes Ltd to lead some anti-Rangers strip them of title campaign, would it? Given he is Chairman of AFC. He didn't make millions in construction by fronting a deconstruct Rangers FC campaign. You have to think about it. Why do you think he wants to flatten Pittodrie? There is money in it for him!
  23. Math, as in 'flunked math pop' from Death of a Salesman. Look it's all opinions, it's fine. Everyone has different views. If it wasn't for Christie we'd be out of Europe. He was the best player by a million miles in both games and difference between qualification. If it wasn't for Christie we'd be still looking for first win at Ibrox since 1991. If it wasn't for Christie we'd not reached Scottish cup final possibly. IMO it's very good for Scottish football. We are crying out for good players, need to develop talent. Talent that helps us progress in Europe and which benefits national team. Celtic are going to win the league regardless of whatever by a mile. It makes no differences he can't play against them.
  24. You realise Milne sells LOTS of hooses down in Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Strathclyde area? Do the math mate.
  25. Bit rich from a man who says Ryan Christie should not be at Aberdeen and that there should be a 'boycott' as he is on loan. Ridiculous you say?
