Time will tell, but consensus was that they were both Players. I am not there, only going on the information of someone that was there.
-
2 Players got off the flight, bags taken off, so 2 not travelling, apparently McKenna is neither of them, but doesn't sound very healthy, the flight has been, or still is, delayed. Could very well be May, some suggesting it might even be a late Bid for Big Sammy. Regardless, we could be doing without all of this, such an important game coming up.
-
Not exactly reliable, I know, but Sky Sports News have said he'll be with the squad tomorrow, commenting that McInnes has rejected his Request.
-
Their Left Back, Malone, was breathing out of his arse after the hour mark, he looked reliable enough, but lacked the same energy as Lowe, but that could be down to the fact he was injured a lot last season, and is still playing catch up. With regards to Shinnie, they were on the back foot, defending their lead, and they opted to put on a 16 year old centre mid instead of Shinnie, was rather surprised at that.

Fucking hell Ambrose has dodgy moments, granted, but he'd still be a good addition to fill a gap that needs filling, costing only wages. An International defender that has over 50 caps, is relatively quick, pretty physical and reads the game well, I suppose it's easy to read into the errors, but I'd welcome him, and it would seem I am alone in doing so
-
Why not? He's a good defender.

Just never really noticed the lad, but then again, I have only ever seen him when we've played them, and they always give us a difficult game. Devlin being made of glass, Considine getting on a bit, Hoban potentially returning and being made of glass, Taylor being Taylor ( Not as bad as made out, but still not good enough to be our 1st choice ) .....if McKenna goes, we really must bring in another 2 CB's in my opinion, and at least one of them should be Left Footed. Jack Hendry on a season loan from Celtic, or even until January, giving us time to find a replacement? Efe Ambrose if he still hasn't got a club, on a years contract? Either of those with a Left Footer coming in is doable.
-
If Ajer did go to Leicester City, then I would imagine the Dhims would indeed come back in with an improved offer for McKenna, but I agree with the sentiment that seems to be he wants to go to England. When is the player registration for the Rijeka game? This could be an interesting 48 hours coming up.
-
I agree wholeheartedly SeeBass, and if it turns out this is McKenna's doing, then he can absolutely fuck off.
-
Strikes me as similar to James Wilson maybe? Surely he was on more than we could normally afford, but having been here, he was obviously happy to try and re-establish himself somewhere on a permanent. I think Hector has been loaned out since he joined Chelsea, he knows what to expect here and perhaps that could entice him. I'd be delighted with it, but I appreciate there are many obstacles. Out of interest, what do you think St Johnstone would hold out for regarding Kerr? I saw Wright saying clubs would need to break the bank to get him, but surely it'd be less than 1 Million? He's not really established himself exactly, has he? St Johnstone regressed considerably these last 2 seasons, he's played in a lot of those game during that time.
-
Findlay wouldn't be able to play Europa League though, would he? I am fairly certain he'd be Ineligible. Kerr is a decent shout, I've saw Michael Hector being mentioned too, that'd be my preferred choice if that could be done, not sure the cost involved there though. Regarding McKenna, people pointing their finger at the agent, but he's a grown man, he was happy to sign a 5 year contract not too long ago, he's doing this himself, he wants out. We should accept around 5-6 Million, with some sort of percentage added on to his next sale, like we apparently have with Fraser, and move on.
-
8 Goals already, some boy is Cosgrove, should have been into double figures already, but will put that down to pre-season rustiness ( The misses against ROpS ) I am pretty certain he'll be into double figures come the away game at Killie.

Started the game well enough, took control, creating chances and Gallagher forced a couple of saves from Zamal, after that though, I thought we got bogged down by Hearts Physicality, their fans are genuinely deluded and utterly incapable of being objective, they created nothing 1st half, other than Berra's header, and 2nd half, for around 10 minutes when they brought on Washington & Naismith, they were mince. Their game plan was stop us, that was it, they looked like an amateur team trying to Counter Attack as well. On the flip side of that though, I thought we weren't up to much either, due to what I mentioned above, Hearts got in our faces and heads and we took our foot of the gas, when they went 2-1 up, I was in genuine disbelief, and I'll be honest, I said to myself " Why does this ring familiar? " but the Introduction of Hedges, and McGinn's experience, made a massive difference, we started to play Football and got our deserved 3 points. They are fucking shite, they rely solely on Naismith, who will probably spend the majority of the season in the treatment room, and their manager is a dinosaur. The lad Hickey deserved his 2 Yellow's, Dikamona's challenge on McGinn was a stonewall penalty, look at his, and his teammates reactions, and Ikpeazu should have been off as well. Ferguson was pish today, but I noticed he was playing pretty much beside Ojo instead of that bit further forward, probably due to Hearts playing 5 across the middle, but it was very reminiscent of what I saw in him last season, giving away needless fouls, giving away the ball and looked sluggish generally. Hopefully see him further forward in the coming games. Well done to big Sammy on another brace, he did okay considering he was up against Halkett/Souttar/Berra and then Dikamona. Overall, it's 3 points, we deserved them, Hearts are fucking pish and dirty, dirty bastards. We played Football eventually and it was enough.
-
Definitely a step up from the last 2 teams we've played there, however, any positive result away from home, a score draw even, and I think it'll be enough.
-
I'm happy League Football is back. I hate a Saturday/Sunday with no Football. Anyway, I fancy us to carry the buzz of last night into Sunday, agreed Hearts will provide a far tougher test, but we'll be hard to beat at home this season if that's the way we're going to play, and I think it'll be enough to collect 3 points. Aberdeen 2 vs 0 Hearts ( Cosgrove, Hedges )

Great performance. Ojo is going to be a key player this season, he, whether some will like this or not, but it's true, is a direct, like for like Ryan Jack ( Boak ) replacement. He allows us to be more open with our 2 other Midfielders, they know he's there covering them now, I genuinely don't remember him misplacing a single pass. Leigh, whilst I don't think will emulate Lowe's effectiveness, will still be a useful addition, he's pretty athletic and aggressive, and he made one or two clever passes tonight, looked comfortable defensively as well. Hedges is a good player, he'll be one to watch this season, awfully one footed ( Greg Stewart anyone? ) but no, seriously, he's clearly going to be more effective than Stewart was, quicker, more skilful and a sweet, sweet left foot. Gallagher, still rough around the edges, but he played well tonight, plenty of energy, very quick and direct and was up there in the top 3 performances tonight. He'll also be useful in a lot of games this season. Special mentions to Cosgrove and Ferguson though. Ferguson will benefit the most with Ojo's arrival, he's clearly a better forward playing midfielder than he is a deep lying one, and maybe that's why he burnt out last season, I know I'm still in a very small minority when I say that I didn't see what everyone else seemed too, but what I have seen so far this season, he's been very, very good. And Cosgrove, always had his back, always saw that he contributed one way or another, his overall play tonight was tremendous, he was taking long balls to chest & feet with ease, and took his goals really well. MOTM ahead of Ferguson & Gallagher in my opinion, but only just. If we maintain that level of performance throughout the season, we won't drop many points at all at home, and it's clear we have 2 different variations this season, we're going to be an out and out counter attacking team away from home, whilst trying to dominate teams at home, possession wise, we played some very attractive Football tonight, long may it continue.
-
I have to confess, I completely forgot about Leigh He's been training for the last 3/4 days I read there, so hopefully he'll make it. If he doesn't though, Considine will be at LB and Ojo will play beside McKenna, put a mortgage* on it. Please Note - I don't actually have a Mortgage, I am poor and currently out my nut on Glue.
-
Fuck yes. Good shit.
-
He'll play Ojo beside McKenna tonight, and put Campbell in the holding role. Fancy Hedges to get his 1st for the Club, and fancy Cosgrove to score twice. Aberdeen 3 vs 0 Georgian Mob ( Hedges, Cosgrove x 2 )
-
That clip, he talks about changing positions numerous times When he first came, he started as a midfielder, last season he got moved to RB, then finished the season as a midfielder. I think Dean Campbell featuring with the first team as much let him move back into midfield, but when Campbell plays for the Youngsters, Virtanen is the RB. Your undisputed superfan status is under threat, min.
-
Fairly certain it's the other way round Rico, he's moved from CM to RB.
-
Miko Virtanen has apparently done extremely well since being moved to RB. Logan is ageing and I reckon if he's injured/suspended this season, Virtanen might be given the nod to replace him. I suppose though, as he was an Everton Youth Player first, he's not our own product. But at the end of the day, if he's good enough, then he's good enough. He has a decent physique and is technically sound, I think he may be the next to be exposed to some first team minutes this season.

Had no idea regarding his Missus, TC, would probably scupper any hope we would have if there was actual interest. -
Season 2019/2020 Rebuilding

Apparently the writing is on the wall for Louis Moult at Preston. Not seen us linked with him anywhere recently, but if we see movement with May heading out, I do think we'll bring another Striker in & Moult is the very player that McInnes will have kept tabs on. Too lazy to look up his remaining contract at Preston or his market value etc... would imagine it would be a loan if he has a bit of time left on his contract. -
Just back from Hospital, wee fella broke his elbow, in getting an operation. Missed the entire game. Judging by comments on here and Social Media, seems McInnes " Played for the draw " I quote that because I don't believe that is the intention, but the intention is certainly " Do not lose " if that makes sense. Seeing we had zero threat going forward and looked dodgy at the back, with the Midfield being over ran, yet we come away with an away goal. Albeit it's taken another penalty, the general consensus appears to be, from various opinions, that goals are going to be hard to come by this season, that's a worry, of course, it's still pretty early in the Season to be making that assumption. Hopefully finish the job at Pittodrie next week.
