  1. Lewis Logan Vyner Considine Leigh McLennan Ojo Bryson Hedges Wilson Cosgrove Would like to see a 4-4-1-1 type, James Wilson in the free role supporting Cosgrove, Bryson with the free role in the middle to go box to box when required, Ojo sitting & the wide players pushing up to support the forward area and going back to help the full backs. We need someone much closer to Cosgrove, it'd keep us up the pitch as Cosgrove will win more than he loses aerially and into feet/chest. Replace Bryson after 60-70 minutes with Ferguson, and replace Wilson at the same time with Anderson, gets another hour minimum into two players who need game time, whilst giving Anderson a deserved half hour/15 minutes. Not sure how we'll approach it obviously, but I hope to see intent, movement and speed, make Ross County dig deep as fuck whilst tiring them at the same time. Aberdeen 2 vs 0 Ross County ( Cosgrove, Hedges )
  2. Unfortunately, as we only play with one direct Striker, Anderson will likely never be given a start ahead of the Cosgrove's or Main's. He quite simply doesn't have the physique required to play up front in a Derek McInnes team, due to McInnes' " Style " of Football. Main apparently set 2 of Anderson's goals up yesterday, played really well by all accounts, but Anderson is afforded the opportunities he gets because he has a physical partner beside him. I reckon Anderson would be very successful alongside Cosgrove, Sam does a lot of work that goes completely unnoticed, because nine times out of ten, it doesn't come to fruition simply because he's up there himself, but if you threw an Anderson beside him, even James Wilson, we'd probably reap some sort of reward. I agree there's little else he can do in the reserves, he's done enough to merit an opportunity but he won't get it for the reasons stated above, quite sad, really. McInnes has ditched the sort of " Attacking Intent " we used to show, probably in his 1st 2-3 seasons, and that's probably down to the personnel, he appears to be in favour of old fashioned tactics now and as a result, we're far too predictable, have very little bite in attack and as everyone can clearly see, create very little opportunities from open play. Whenever we've hit a poor bit of form and results are poor, he always digs out a result that would appear to paper over cracks, my concern this time around is, McKenna will be used as the reason, his transfer request unsettled us etc... etc... Well, a transfer request doesn't affect a managers game plan in any way shape or form, nor does it affect how we approach a game, so I am not having that. Back to Anderson briefly, as I said in the threads this time last season, the boy is clearly the best finisher we have at the club, the most natural finisher, so it's really up to McInnes to find a way to fit that into our 11, but, he'd rather play with 2 sitting midfielders, even at home, so I won't be holding my breath for young Bruce, which is a shame, I think he'll have a fairly decent career in the game, will certainly score goals wherever he ends up, but hopefully it's here, with us.
  3. I wasn't aware that Bryson was Injured for 4 Months previously to joining us. That's a fair chunk to miss, especially for someone getting on a bit in their career. I have zero doubt, and I know I said the same about Gleeson ( Might still come good if afforded the opportunity! ) that Bryson will come good, zero doubt. He was highly regarded even last season, when playing, and they wanted to keep him, he has vast experience and has made large contributions to a Derby team that always flirted with promotion, he's an excellent Midfielder, sadly, and he said it himself after the Killie game, he was rushed back and ended up picking up another Injury. I also think the likes of Bryson & Gleeson would help Ferguson tremendously, barring the first couple of games this season, I think Ferguson is hugely overrated, people take on board an overhead kick against Burnley & Livingston and a header against Rangers, forgetting that he was one of the poorer players on the pitch in these games, he's never stood out, he's never had an " Excellent " game yet he's lauded as one of the best prospects in Scottish Football, don't see it myself, but there you go, opinions and all that. He could absolutely learn from guys like Bryson & Gleeson. I do think we need another Centre Half, in terms of Wingers, Hedges is a Winger, but he appears to be coming deep, centrally, to get the ball, much like the Kenny McLean role, and that's wrong, he should be wide, McLennan definitely has potential, he needs a run of games though, can't be in and out of the team, needs to be playing, Wilson is not a winger, he's a Centre Forward, that's where he should be playing, or even just off Cosgrove, but centrally, that is the important part, he's not a wide player.
  4. Stevie May to St Johnstone is back on apparently. Just dawned on me that he's not been in the squad at all since the Hearts game. Also, I know McInnes has said there will be no more incoming players, but I am extremely hopeful that isn't the case, I really think we require another midfielder, possibly another Centre Half as well, just in case Taylor & Devlin are out longer than initially let on.
  5. I watched Best Of Enemies last night, Sam Rockwell is in it, I enjoy his work. It's based on a true story, CP Ellis, former exalted cyclops of the KKK & Ann Atwater, a civil rights activist. I'd recommend it, thoroughly enjoyed it to be honest.
  6. That was my 5 year old son's first game, and will absolutely be his last. 10 Minutes before K.O " Do you need the toilet? We have time to go now? " Son " No, it's okay Dad, I'm fine " 7 Minutes on the clock " Dad, I need the toilet " And from probably around the 15-20 minute mark, he was utterly bored and was desperate to go home, sadly, and pathetically, I gave into him and we left at HT. Managed to get the last 10 minutes on a stream and even Andrew Shinie was complaining about the lack of urgency we were showing, that says it all really. Looks to me like we're continuing on from the last 12-18 months and still in regression, early days and all that, but I genuinely fear for a rather underwhelming season. McInnes just seems comfortable, we've totally abandoned any sort of Football in favour of slowly getting up the pitch by either A. Punts, or B. Sideway passing.
  7. No idea on the line up, but he will definitely bring Ferguson back in and I would imagine that it will be Bryson that drops out. Would personally like to see Vyner start at Centre Back, alongside Considine. McKenna isn't settled, personally feel that until the Transfer Window closes, and we have confirmation that he has removed his Transfer Request ( Not sure if it's automatically binned in the event that we rejected it anyway ) then he should be dropped from the 11, certainly don't feel that he's our best Defender, his current form would back that up, that for me, goes to Considine at the moment. Don't think we'll win comfortably, I actually think we'll come back from 1-0 down at HT to gain a point, Cosgrove converting a Penalty. Kilmarnock 1 vs 1 Aberdeen ( Cosgrove, Penalty )
  8. No. But judging by the replies to my Efe Ambrose and Jack Hendry suggestions, I am not the best judge, SeeBass.
  9. Curtis Main ( 27 ) Career Stats Appearances - 288 Goals - 48 Sam Cosgrove ( 22 ) Career Stats Appearances - 91 Goals - 31 Sorry LA, but there is a fair bit between them, Cosgrove is a much better Striker, in every way. To be honest, see until he has a direct partner, I think there will still be a lot of people that don't rate him. He is only 22, very raw, still learning and basically doing everything on his own. I think though, with a direct partner, you'd see a vast difference in what he brings to the game. People that dislike him seem to forget that our game plan consists of him having to deal with aimless punts up to him, he's up there himself, he wins plenty of headers, nobody is running behind him, he controls pretty well with feet and chest, then brings others into play. I am not exaggerating when I say he's one of the best Strikers in the SPFL.
  10. For fuck sake He seems less popular than Efe Ambrose. Imagine that, a solid duo at the back in Hendry & Ambrose, our " goals conceded " would dramatically improve. Seriously though, I don't really remember much of Hendry, was he that bad? Perhaps I am clutching at straws, given our current predicament on the park.
  11. The best thing that happened to us was Dundee taking that Johnson off, he was bullying Considine & McKenna all afternoon. Sad state of affairs really, McKenna needs dropped/sold. Get that Vyner in at CB beside Considine and then we can see what happens when Taylor and Devlin are fit. We know what we're getting with Taylor though, not an improvement by any stretch and Devlin seems to be in the team then straight back out again because he seems to be made of glass. Really hope there is another signing incoming, we still lack creativity from the middle of the park, Bryson still a few games away from being up to speed but hopefully he sparks something if we don't add another body.
  12. Pathetic, lethargic and devoid of coherence. We look really poor from open play. Thought young Campbell did okay when he came on, other than that though, hard to pick a positive performer. Dundee can certainly feel hard done by, but fuck them, I am far more concerned as to what we're aiming for this season and what way we're going to achieve it. The Football on display has yet again, be absolutely fucking turgid. Still think we're actually a player or 2 short. And we have drawn Hearts away in the next round, for those that missed it.
  13. Can't say I remember us having a single shot on or off target in that 45 minutes? Similar to the St Mirren game in that we're fortunate to go in 1-0 down. Tone was set after 60 seconds, Bryson asking for the ball in the middle of the pitch, in acres of space, and Considine punted it long to Cosgrove, who was surrounded by 4 defending players. It's actually a piss take, McInnes is really starting to piss me off, I am actually getting extremely annoyed with him. Cliche as it sounds, but yet again, we're utterly predictable. We don't look capable of creating opportunities from open play, let alone scoring from open play. Embarrassing.
  14. Neil Lennon said today after their game that there is a possibility there will be another addition to their squad, ahead of their Europa League game, but he said the player in question will be Cup-Tied, now of course that could literally mean any player from any squad that has already played in the Competition this season so far, but the murmurings are that it is Scott McKenna. IF that is the case, I would hope we get a respectable fee, and I probably would take Hendry as part of the deal, purely because Devlin seems to be a bit of a crock, so no harm having another CB, who knows the League, as cover/for rotational purposes. See what happens.
  15. Would imagine Campbell will just replace Ferguson, Bryson surely won't be ready to start a game, considering how long he has been injured and unavailable? We should be too strong for Dundee, but then I thought that about St Mirren last week and we know how that turned out. I think Cosgrove will start up front, or at least I hope he does, we won't go with 2 strikers, people will need to realise that, he's not got it in him to play with 2 Strikers, and I don't mean a second Striker playing out wide, like he does with May & Wilson, another mind boggling " Tactic " Struggling to get giddy for this one, we've failed to score, or even come close to scoring, really, in the last 3 games, I expect a low scoring affair. 1-0 Dons Win, Cosgrove the scorer.
  16. Scunnered already Manc, I fully appreciate it's very early in the season, but carrying on from last season, in where we clearly regressed, I can only see it deteriorating as opposed to improving. The Football is back to being turgid, predictable shite and he's too much of a Chocolate to change it. I'm pretty much resigned to not wanting him in charge now, and that was from him being a safe bet when he was offered the contract extension. Sad how quickly it changes.
  17. I have wrote paragraphs, deleted them, came back on and wrote more, repeated that process for almost an hour now and just gave up. Bottom line is, it was fucking shite, from start to finish. Any early optimism I had is completely gone, I just wonder how we'd fair if we had a manager in place that used the players at our disposal to their strengths. We are so fucking predictable it's infuriating. That whole Cosgrove thing, about him being out for this game, what was the fucking point in that? What was that ever going to achieve? Totally scunnered already, I think we'll have a much worse season than last, and that was pretty fucking underwhelming as it was, was only masked by some positive results against the Hun bastards.

Nothing questionable about it at all) 2017-18: Tom (73 points) 2018-19: DantheDon (67points)
  19. He was always going to play. I had a gut feeling it was of those classic McInnes mind games He used to do it with Hayes, then Mackay Steven, now it's poor Cosgrove's turn, hopefully the big fella takes it in his stride and doesn't feel too much expectation. Happy he's starting, obviously, but personally find McInnes a bit cringe-worthy with this shite, especially if it back fires. Anyway, hopefully he has his shooting boots on this evening, and we'll need an assured Considine and McKenna partnership. 2-1 Aberdeen FT ( Cosgrove, Hedges )
  20. Can I ask a completely irrelevant and hypothetical question? See the likes of Igor Biscan, Dan Petrescu etc.... If we ever did punt McInnes, or he left on his own accord, could we attract those aforementioned managers? Would we be a bigger pull than the likes of Rijeka, in the Croatian League, or Cluj in the Romanian League? Forgetting about Family etc... if they were approached and had zero personal drawbacks, would they leave their respective clubs for us? More in terms of Competition, progression to a club down South if they do well, budgets etc.... I appreciate it's not relevant to the match, I was just having a conversation with a fellow supporter and we had very mixed opinions on it.
  21. Imagine this was one of those McInnes moments, where someone is unlikely to play, but they then go on to make it, and we still lose I wouldn't put it passed him by the way. We can't go with Main again, not on his own, we most definitely can't go with Stevie May, I am still at a loss as to why this fraud is still at our club, so really only leaves Anderson & Wilson, if we are persisting with the 1 Striker, if not, would probably like to see Main & Wilson partnering each other. We will need some sort of brutish player up front, with a more technically astute player beside him, be that Anderson or Wilson, who knows. If Cosgrove is absolutely out though, and this is not some sort of tactical media mind games, then I fear another goalless Aberdeen, for the 3rd consecutive game.
  22. To be fair, you have always maintained this. I must have the wrong spy....... Ten Caat, you are absolutely correct, he wasn't really that bad at all, that one misplaced pass vs St Mirren, in a 4-1 win for us, was literally the only thing he did that stood out negatively. He made a positive impact when he came on at Home to Hearts, in a game that we were being overran and outfought in the middle of the park and away to Livingston, when we chasing a winner, and like you said, he certainly knew how to pick a pass, the mobility side of things would surely have came with more minutes on the pitch? I am resigned to the fact that he's probably done though, in terms of his pecking order.
  23. Allegedly injured. I think though, even when he returns, he'll find his game time even more restricted than it was last season. He was wrote off almost immediately and I never understood why, but McInnes obviously sees what the other people see or he'd have been given more game time. Thought he would have been a good addition, but I reckon Rico has found out where he lives and has been injuring him in his sleep.
