  1. Wes Burns, there was a strange one, scored a good header on his debut if I remember correctly, and I was at the Ayr cup game, down in Ayr, and he was miles ahead of anyone else on the pitch, he hit the woodwork three times I think, he was excellent that night. Just never kicked on and ended up being another Maynard, Parker etc.... I was at Michael Hector's debut as well, a friendly against FC Twente I believe, he was a class act, one I wish we could have got permanently.
  2. Contract discussions held with both Curtis Main & James Wilson apparently. Fun time of the season this, isn't it.
  3. A lot of noise on Social Media from columnists/journalists for smaller, more independent newspapers etc... that McInnes is seriously considering the Scotland job, added to the fact that he's allegedly their top target, despite what has been reported elsewhere regarding Steve Clarke. Interesting one this, as far as I'm aware, a few players have already signed pre-contracts ( will be announced after Hibs ) so if there was any truth in his decision regarding Scotland, surely players wouldn't agree to come on a pre-contract? Anyone think he'll take it? If he's even offered it, bookies making McInnes & Clarke strong favourites, everyone else is not even close when it comes to the odds, so I do expect an approach from the people responsible for hiring. Lets face it, if he did go, now's the right time, lets a new manager in before the season starts, he can asses what's left of the squad and implement his own ideas etc... in Pre-Season as well as recruit his own players.
  4. Hibs 0 vs 1 Aberdeen ( Shinnie )
  5. I see a lot of outrage regarding the Hughton sacking, but hasn't he spent 70+ million? Finishing 17th. I appreciate that the EPL is obviously more difficult, but they were almost relegated and when you see he's spent a decent chunk more than several clubs that finished above them, added to the dire Football apparently on show, it kind of makes sense. Maybe they feel they can attract a manager that puts a better squad together for the money they have available to spend, but I am not sure what they expect, I very much doubt they'd qualify for Europe or that, so is a Mid Table the best they can hope for? The prize money becomes rather different the higher you finish, naturally, so maybe that is their thinking? Who knows.
  6. A Winger has been allegedly added to the " Already signed a pre-contract, but will be announced after the Hibs Game " list. This is in addition to a CB that has already signed a pre-contract, that will also be announced after the Hibs game. First of all, I have no idea why we need to wait until after the Hibs game, is it maybe because they are from teams in our league? The general consensus is that the CB is Shaughnessy & the winger could possibly be Chris Cadden. Although I have also seen that it could be Brandon Barker or Sam Nicholson. In any case, this source is excellent, many of you will probably know who it is, very prominent supporter who has been right every time they have mentioned a name, but in the interest of privacy, they don't want to be outed on here, so it's only fair that I don't mention them. We will have to wait and see, but if they are right, it'll be mentioned shortly after Hibs, so it's not too long a wait to be fair. P.S, they also confirmed that " As far as they're aware, we have indeed spoken to Ash Taylor, but nothing has been signed etc... "
  7. 3 Points, beat the Jambo cunts, and a correct score prediction, just the wrong goalscorers. Hopefully Kilmarnock lose tomorrow.
  8. So it could be Ash Taylor then...... That is mental, not forgetting his reasoning for wanting to leave, something along the lines of " Fed up finishing runner up " if I mind correctly. You have to admit, even the most ardent Stevie May fanatics and McInnes worshippers, today has been a poor day all round concerning alleged transfer targets, because we need to remember McInnes usually likes a spanner in the works before announcing someone completely different that hadn't been mentioned, I am taking it as speculation until I see confirmation otherwise.
  9. And now a very prominent supporter who has inside info when it comes to signings, many of you will know who I am talking about, has just said we're close to announcing a Centre Back that " won't be popular " Kirk Broadfoot, welcome aboard min Seriously though, I have no idea who said person could be referring too, but if they are correct, then I am most definitely intrigued.
  10. P & J claiming we have opened talks with Curtis Main. One that has been mentioned previously, can understand why McInnes is keen but personally see him as another Stevie May type, plenty of effort and endeavour but 6 goals this season and 48 career goals in 284 career games. If he comes, maybe he'll play just off Cosgrove and not necessarily directly up front? He does look a handful, and he's pretty strong and can fairly shift, also might see the end of May, or at least punting him out on loan as someone suggested on another thread.
  11. Scottish Cup Semi Final aside, Hearts have lost 4 and drew 1 of their last 5 league matches, I think if you go back 7 games, it's only 1 win, and guess who that was against our good selves. Levein has said he's likely to change his squad up given the Cup Final they have coming up, so he won't want to risk injuries etc... remains to be seen whether they do or not, but normally any youngster they have coming in, slots is nicely. I think they'll start with MacLean up front, can't see them risking Ikpeazu personally, so that should help us, MacLean is absolutely finished, wasn't too bad at St Johnstone, but he's barely kicked a ball with Hearts. No idea how we'll line up either, probably similar to the Celtic 11, perhaps Gleeson coming in for Ball with Ball slotting to RB and Logan benched? Possibly, but Logan was fine so he might keep his place. Aberdeen 2 vs 1 Hearts ( Cosgrove, McKenna )
  12. And a bit of Willie Watson next, saw him in Glasgow a few months ago, thoroughly enjoyed him.
  13. Fully appreciate that Springsteen isn't everyone's cup of tea, I personally love him, this is a decent version of My City Of Ruins. The guy just gives me actual goosebumps, The Ghost Of Tom Joad & Nebraska Albums in particular.
  14. He showed against Celtic, albeit a pish result, he was okay in that CDM role, he tried to get involved as much as he could and had a far bigger influence than everyone's favourite, Lewis Ferguson. I don't think he is good enough however, to be a regular 11 player, but would have zero issues with him staying as a squad player. Hard to believe he's only 23 as well, still learning the game, much like Ferguson I suppose, I just don't get the hype with Ferguson Barring his goals, that of course were important, he's largely anonymous over a 90 minute game, I genuinely can't think of a game that he's stood out in? It's probably down to our current style of play though, we largely bypass the midfield, same reason that Cosgrove normally struggles up front alone, so maybe with a good pre-season and new approach to games, I will see what everyone else seems to see in young Fergie.
  15. Okay TC, I am done now, retiring from professional forum posting
  16. You know what, I completely forgot about Dom Ball, as Rico points out above me there, he'll probably be the 3rd and not Hoban, I thought Hoban would have been fit come the start of the season, completely forgetting that it was only a short while ago he suffered his injury, I am not on form this morning
  17. I think given that we know Shaughnessy has rejected a new contract at St Johnstone, he'd have to be considered as one of the " Hopefully announced in the next few weeks " category, and in that respect, I'd say the other 2 are probably Arnoud Djoum & Tommie Hoban. I think the remaining additions will be a combination of waiting to see whats available down south as well as what budget he might get from the potential sale of McKenna. I completely appreciate that Hoban would be a risk, given he's suffered 2 serious injuries, but if he could avoid repercussions, he'd be a great coup in my opinion, he was our best defender when he came into the team, so cool, calm & positive and literally had no heart in mouth moments when he was mopping up, he was excellent, so I personally would love it to happen. Djoum & Shaughnessy are just educated guesses given what we've heard in the background, more so with Shaughnessy as we know we have offered him a contract and we know he's not staying at St Johnstone.
  18. Don't think I have seen Jackie Brown, but I'll look it out for sure.
  19. Kind of hoping we're due to announce a replacement given that it's been announced and confirmed now regarding Shinnie. Very unlike us to confirm this sort of news before the season ends ( McLean was a pre-contract and loaned back at least ) Personally find it a good move for Shinnie, could quite easily see him playing Premier League Football next season! You just know McInnes is going to bypass a replacement though & comment something along the lines of " Stephen Gleeson has been patient and more than capable of filling that role " etc....etc... As much as I want Gleeson to succeed, he's nowhere near the level ( Technical ability aside ) as Shinnie is.
  20. I didn't enjoy the Kill Bill films to be honest, I'd say they were his poorest, but this wasn't far behind, some excellent dialogue aside, it never did it for me.
  21. The scene where Tim Roth and Walton Goggins are perplexed at the thought of Samuel L Jackson's character having a letter from Lincoln was absolutely brilliant, as was Jennifer Jason Leigh in general, but it never captured my imagination nor kept me hooked, as I felt it lacked something. I am a fan of his stuff, my favourite film ever is True Romance, which he wrote, but Tony Scott directed. Agree with the Soundtrack, thoroughly enjoyed that also.
  22. Watched Tarantino's " The Hateful Eight " last night, very mixed on it, was his usual twist and storytelling, but lacked something that I can't quite put my finger on. Wouldn't watch it again and can't honestly say that I would recommend it. 5/10
  23. We are stuck with Stevie May as he's contracted until 2021 I think, and there's absolutely no hope in hell that anyone will give us even half of what we paid for him, and on the same token, McInnes won't have it in him to release him for fuck all. It is a shame for the guy, he was clearly a good, young player who went to England and suffered a serious Injury in where he looks less than half of that player now, it is glaringly obvious that he can't play the lone Striker role, as he's as deadly as Darren Mackie was in front of goal & McInnes wouldn't play him in a 2 out & out Striker formation, so he genuinely doesn't fit in anywhere. It hasn't worked, we all hoped it would, and I appreciate that there are still people out there who love him and want us to get shot of Cosgrove instead ( Yes, there really is ) but come on to fuck, when do you accept that he's just pish now and Cosgrove is at least at a good age where he's still developing as a player. I agree with the basic sentiment that he shouldn't be our main Striker going into next season, but he's well ahead of Stevie May in the pecking order.
  24. Had an feeling of inevitability about it after we squandered the Cosgrove/Wilson chances in immediate succession. To be fair to Cosgrove, he got a good, clean connection in it, it was just too close to Bain, then obviously Wilson rattles the Post. I thought defensively, up until a point, we were okay, game completely passed Ferguson by and Ball showed why he could still be a useful squad player, if played in that role! Wilson was the best of the front 4, albeit missed some decent opportunities, May was fucking garbage, Logan did okay considering he was out for as long as he was. There is a genuine concern that 3rd place is gone as well now, which is pretty disappointing, and could potentially change our recruitment, as it appears to persuade the odd player to join us for the taste of European Football. However, it's not done until the last game of the season, hopefully we do that Jambo mob next week, shower of cunts.
