  1. He'll probably do OK while things are going well. Couple of defeats and some poor performances and it will be interesting to see how he copes.
  2. Nah, calling bollocks on that one. By my calculations Rooney scored a goal every 197.25 minutes, May every 369.4 http://www.worldfootball.net/team_performance/aberdeen-fc/sco-premiership-2017-2018/
  3. I agree that the squad is a little light at the moment, but lets look at who we actually lost Stewart - League appearances 16 starts, 12 as a sub OConnor - League appearances 37 starts, 1 as a sub Arneson - League appearances 16 starts, 5 as a sub McLean - League appearances 37 starts, 0 as a sub Christie - League appearances 28 starts, 4 as a sub Rooney - League appearances 16 starts, 19 as a sub Rogers - League appearances 2 starts, 1 as a sub Maynard - League appearances 2 starts, 18 as a sub Only 3 of those players were actually playing with any regularity. Let's not forget Nwakali who was absolute shite and managed 3 league starts and 2 sub appearances and Tansey who has burned his bridges and had 8 starts. In terms of ability we lost 2 decent players, McLean and Christie. I'm not saying that we are in a decent place in terms of the squad at the moment and we need some squad players to make up for what's been lost, but the main areas where most fans thought needed strengthened last season still need strengthened, left back, squad player for right back cover and a goalscorer.
  4. so, just to recap incase I've missed anything. We've resigned Ball, McKenna's off, Rooney went to non league Salford and Gleeson's picked up a serious knee injury. Fucks sake, that's pish.
  5. there's a hell of a lot of pant pishing based on rumors from the s*n and the re**rd.
  6. Is it definitely home first? Fucking on holiday if it is.
  7. I think Tansey will be gone, regardless. Seem to remember reading an interview with DM where he said Tansey wasn't willing to stay and fight for his place and just wanted away. Think those bridges are well and truly burned.

    Gay Footballers

The hard truth (oooherrr missus....) is that as long as the fact that somebody would be deemed to be different from others and thus need to "come out" and "admit they were gay" immediately makes it something to sensationalise and then becomes an issue that would do nothing but distract a player from what they were there to do. While the spineless, faceless, corrupt organistaions that run the game on a national and international level fail to deliver punishments for racist and sectarian abuse then why the fuck would you? Saying that..*Nacho Novo...fuckin homo... *then there's that fine line between banter and abuse.
  9. In fairness, that could be down to the fact that at the moment it's an empty field... ooocha, nobody is ever going to get a point across if the sentence includes the term "real fans". there are a lot of memories to take from Pittodrie, opening the windows at home as a kid and hearing the roar coming from the ground. Knowing that my old man was going to have been part of that roar and that he was likely to be in a well happy mood when he came home. Sitting wanting to be there, to be part of that. I grew up as the ground evolved. New stands went up, regular familiar features disappeared. The scoreboard, the gasworks, the bench seats, the Beach End. All sold to the fans as progress at the time but treated with an air of suspicion at the time. We have a ground that doesn't hold sound, doesn't generate much of an atmosphere as it's generally carried away by a howling North Sea wind. It's open and exposed to the elements, the seagulls are an absolute pain in the hoop if the mannie with the hawk isn't up on the SS roof. it is what it is....old. I have a pre and post match routine now, it's changed over the years. As a youngster it was double JD's for the price of singles from 12, maybe the strippers, maybe not. Bars changes, Starry, Belmont....kids came along so pre-match was restricted to a pint if I had time, a few less after the game. By the time the new stadium is finally built, my routines and outlook as to what is important will have changed again. Transportation links will change, roads will have opened, traffic flows will be different, alternate solutions to getting from A - B will be in place. For a while we used to go to the Masada and get their bus to Pittodrie, no different to getting a bus from my next pre match bar to a ground. I've done it before, I'll do it again and look forward to something that might improve my days experience.
  10. Saw some Tim on twitter saying how he was worried that Rodgers would be tempted by the Real Madrid gig and thus dismantle the squad he has at parkhead by taking key players with him. I really hope to fuck that the post was written with more than a hint of sarcasm.
  11. I'd say that the chances of SEVCO being denied the opportunity to fail in europe are slim, but, if there is a chance that the SFA are going to remove them from the list then it may explain Kings rants about wanting folk suspended from the SPFL board. He'd somehow link the 2 into being some kind petty revenge, thus ensuring the huns chip on the shoulders get even bigger.
  12. Real Madrid...very nice touch https://www.afc.co.uk/2018/05/30/letter-from-real-madrid/
  13. Agree completely there. I've always said that he was the catalyst for that incident. Went steamin' in and started the chain of events that led to THAT tackle. I was reading one of the many interviews with him that were recirculating last night. In one of them he spoke about THAT game, well, it was mentioned but he said that he wouldn't talk about it. He felt some blame for the events of that day because he felt that the hatred from the terraces was ramped up by his presence. Also said it was a difficult time because he considered both durrant and Simpson as good friends. There's not many folk that have the personality and genuine likableness that could make me forget they'd turned out for them, he was. When a genuine legend like this passes, something special needs to be done to permanently mark their passing. I hope the club does him proud.
  14. some guffy play off thingmy bob.. Some things don't change though 25 mins Coventry 0-0 Exeter There's a break in play as Chris Stokes puts an ice pack to his face after Jayden Stockley's arm clatters into him after a challenge for an aerial ball. Stokes goes down the tunnel to receive further treatment, meaning the Sky Blues are down to 10 men for the time being.
  15. You see Rooneys limitations, I see Rooneys strengths. He is a penalty box striker. Knockdowns, rebounds, poachers goals. We've had decent ones in the past and they have all had the same "limitations" The thing is, those limitations are that they are not going to thrive on the wing, they're not at their best tracking back and looking for the ball deep, they're not necessarily any good as a link up man....so why in the name of fuck is Rooney played in those positions when he does get a game?
  16. Not according to Transfer Market, the press also all seem to be under the impression that he's a free agent. Born/age: Jun 25, 1994 (23) Place of birth: ScotlandPaisley Nationality: ScotlandScotland Height: 1,87 m Position: Right-Back Contract until: 31.05.2018 Agent: no agent Former international: ScotlandScotland U21
  17. I'd happily swap Tansey for a set of training bibs based on his performances for us last season. If the boy Ferguson gets some game time, first thing he needs to do is get an afc tattoo on his forehead and bang in a screamer against the huns and then get sent off for over celebrating, otherwise, given his family history, he is going to get crucified by the support. I'd happily take Stewart back and hopefully some of the young boys will make a proper breakthrough next season.
  18. Griffiths tried lobbing the ball at Logans head as well. Superb stuff, he really fucking hates the tims
  19. Depends on how much Hearts won by tonight and how much we ship to the tims on Sunday. Goal difference is tight, I think we are currently only 1 goal better off than Hibs.
  20. if we lose to these cunts again then we don't deserve second place, or third come to that.
  21. for every good overseas player we've had, there's a Harold Ingulfsson and Chidi Nwakali. Surely the Welsh could be included. Nobody adding Peter Nicholas?
  22. Guessing? Hoping is the phrase on my mind.
  23. Nah, like a dodgy Chinese satellite they'd come back down to earth. Just to be sure I'd dig a big fuck off hole, line it with lead, deposit them in it and then fill it with quick drying cement. In the case of Nwakali I suspect Man City would chip in for some of the costs.
  24. The one good thing about watching the boy Chidi is the knowledge that Man City clearly have a shite scouting system as well. That boy is no more a footballer than i am a fucking astronaut.
  25. who'd have thought, the club launch an initiative and folk start complaining because other people might like what the club are doing. Complain when the club do nothing, complain when the club do something. If folk have spare cash and want to invest in something that makes them feel as though they're getting something back other than freezing their chugs off at pittodrie then so fucking what. I can't decide if it's jealousy, ignorance or just plain argumentativeness.
