  • I don't see how posting about Andy 'the ball buster' Murray who is currently lawn bowls champ of St Kitts and Nevis is a breach of rules?

Does anyone know who the reigning Olympic tennis champion is?

Nope?

Does anyone care?

Thought not.

Could well go out of the doubles as well today as set down in that just now

Edit: One set each now

Rained off now

Andy Murray produced one of the best performances of his career to sweep aside Stanislas Wawrinka and reach the quarter-finals of the US Open.

The British number one, 21, dominated from the outset and wrapped up a 6-1 6-3 6-3 victory in one hour 49 minutes.

And the quality of Murray's play will have boosted his credentials as a real title contender at Flushing Meadows.

The Scot will next meet 19-year-old Argentine, Juan Martin del Potro, who is on a 23-match winning streak.

Great stuff.

Murray now through to his first ever Grand Slam semi final.

7-6 (7-2) 7-6 (7-1) 4-6 7-5.

He will face either Nadal or Fish.

It's Nadal. I predict a draw.

Mardy Fish reminds me of Mr. Scruff. Fish, fish, fish, fish, fish.

He wasnt that convincing last night and his serve was broken too often.

If he plays like that against Nadal it will be a quick straight sets defeat.

When is this semi final?  Tomorrow night?

It will. He has to play at the top of his game to even get near Nadal. Beat Nadal is maybe a bridge to far for now. But I see no reason why Andy can't keep improving. The U.S Open is his favourite tournemant and his favourite surface and Nadal prefers clay. That could go in Andy's favour.

If Murray plays like he did against Wawrinka then he's got a chance.  He made too many errors last night and lacked the killer instinct.  3-1 up in the third set only to lose it 6-4!.  He won't get as many opportunities against Nadal, but here's hoping.

Murray will have to give it 100% and Nadal will need to be having an off day.

That said, Murray probably has all a player will ever need, he just needs to be able to do it over the course of the match.

A racket?

No but a racquet would come in handy.

A racket?

Na, he's normally pretty quiet on the court. Always in a huff
