Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

Watched the Accountant tonight, wasn't bad.  Easy enough viewing and a few decent fight scenes.

COuldn't agree more. A very impressive film and would add you wouldn't have to be a Star Wars fan to enjoy it.

I was a bit disappointed tbh.

The first hour dragged a bit and wasnt very star warsesque for me.

There was absolutely no magic (using the force itself) in it.

No light sabre scenes (i wont mention the end) and nobody i could really relate to unlike every other star wars film.

I still enjoyed it but was disappointed.

Bring back the magic please.the mystery and drama and the actual possibilitirs the 'force' can give u .

6/10 for me but each to our own.

Anyone been to see the Tom Hanks one about the plane landing on The Hudson River yet  ???

Right might give the better half an airing and take her to The Odeon one night this week to see it.

Watched Deepwater Horizon last night.

Slow start but pretty good action/drama film with Mark Wahlberg.

Some great direction during the disaster.

Many Aberdonians will relate to it I'm sure.

6/10 but I'm harsh  ;D

Got around your watching it last night.

Thoroughly enjoyable film.

Watched the Jason Bourne one the night before and of the two The Accountant was my favourite.

Have you seen The Town with Ben Affleck?

Highly recommend it. You'll love it.

Watched the place beyond the pines last night, decent watch. Turned dark after a relatively slow start and you wondered what was going to happen.

Surprised I haven't seen the town, nips. Sounds like my kinda film!

I think ben affleck is a great actor.

Its a classic oldie crime thriller type.

Watch it manc

He's great nowadays, especially when he is directing too.

The town is a great film, highly recommended by me too Manc

Anyone watch Spectral yet?

I think he can be very good (Affleck), but tends to appear in shite films, it's like he hasn't got a quality checker. The accountant was cliched horseshite for example, but Argo was very good. However I nearly always try and catch his films as he's got a few crackers. There's just a lot of shite to wade through first.

Watched War Dogs last night. Quite decent.

Rouge 1 is phenomenal

Enjoyed it, but wouldn't go that far tlg!  Was a bit too cheesy at the end. Good film though. Saw it at the dominion in Edinburgh, what a cinema that is! Whole room full of lay-zee boys!

Agree Manc.

As I said I was disappointed but still enjoyed it.

Dominion is class haha.

Used to love going there and round the corner is an ace pool/snooker club.

Watched our kind of traitor the other day which was adapted from John le carre's book. Was decent enough but occasionally a bit dull and predictable. Wouldn't go out of your way to go see it.

I saw it the local independent Eden Court which is unspectacularly nice, i'll make a point of visiting the Dominion at some point as it sounds great.  Re Rogue 1 well I'm quite the sci-fi geek and i thought they completely nailed it, the only thing I could remotely bicker with was the Tarkin CGI looked a little 2007.  Other than that it was the star wars film I've been waiting for pretty much my entire adult life so, respectfully, I have to disagree with your assessment and stand by my own.......  I'm sure you understand. ;D
