Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

Finally got round to The Big Short. Outstanding.

As truth always is.

Watched The Debt (2010) last week, not a bad film. About 3 Mossad agents who claimed to have killed the surgeon of Birkenau.  Got to love a film set in cold war Berlin

The BFG: Crap

Star Trek: Didn't expect to enjoy it at all but really did. I'm new to the whole Star Trek/Wars thing but I reckon Star Trek is better.

Going to see Bourne later on. Only in 3D.  :hammer:8):hammer:8)

Sausage Party was fucking awful.

Tom will probably enjoy this, having been there himself, but Hunt for the Wilder People was fucking hilarious

Recommend watching Boy and What we do in the shadows first (same guys as flight of the conchords) as there are some specific references that won't make sense otherwise.

Watched Mulholland Drive last night for the second time.

The first time was the day it came out, 15 years ago.

Recently voted the best film ever (or this century), I have to add my enthusiasm.

Its phenomenal. As is everything David Lynch has final cut on.

Not recommended for bb or ed. They're not expansive enough in imagination to appreciate.

Only David lynch movie I ever watched was lost highway. Genuinely one of the worst films I have ever seen.

Not seen that one yet. Blue Velvet is a must see. For light entertainment, Wild at Heart is good.

I remember an interview where Lynch described getting the Golden Palm at Cannes and half the audience were applauding and half were booing, "loudly".

When an artist polarises on such a scale as he does, there is or there are reasons for this.

In my opinion, certain people despise his work for the same reason that drives them (or others) to religion.

I saw Captain Fantastic at the weekend, very good

Graham Shinnie?

I liked Sausage Party because it was nothing but a poorly veiled attack on the religious.

Ghostbusters. Nae bad.

Watched it last night on Movie123 (HD stream)

Expectation was low, but have to say it was OK

Not a patch on the original but it had its moments.

Enjoyed the cameo appearances by original cast members.

Watched Swiss Army Man last night and to be honest I still don't know what I just watched. Well worth a watch for a WTF moment. Not what I was expecting at all!

Watched Infiltrator.

Was left disappointed but i love Narcos so my expectations was high

Took my teenage daughters to see Eight Days a Week. Latest Beatles documentary by Ron Howard. Surprisingly well put together and really enjoyed it.

Saw The Girl on the Train last night - pretty much what I was expecting tho Emily Blunt was excellent

Dunno how the book got so much hype

Just watched Magificent Seven and it was a decent film with a good cast. It had that epic action movie feel to it but it was nowhere near as good as the original with Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen which is an untouchable classic.

Still yet to see it, we opted for Hell or High Water which was excellent.

Watched the Infiltrator last night, brilliant film but I am a big Bryan Cranston fan.

I think I'd make a good stalker of her.  Does anyone know if she already has a stalker?
