Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

Agreed. Went to see it with low expectations. The trailer looked dodgy as fuck. Ended up thoroughly enjoying it. Superb acting and direction.

I really liked The Theory of Everything - Eddie Redmayne defo deserved his Golden Globe - at times I forgot it was him and not the actual Stephen Hawking in the film  ;D

I'm excited about Birdman - one of my workmates was raving about it

Still haven 't seen Birdman so will have to sort that out soon

Selma is very good

Saw American Sniper the other day, enjoyed it. I know on a moral level its all pretty bad but as an actual film I thought it was good.

Also recommend inherent vice, peculiar but great film.

I went to see Selma last night. Powerful film and really well acted.

Easy to forget how badly and recently we've treated our fellow humans. :(

Watched black sea the other day, quite dark but good enough. Questionable accents.

Then watched '71, probably the best British film I've seen in a long time. Well worth a watch. Very dark and about the troubles in northern Ireland in the 70's. But worth a watch.

Recently I've seen Fury, Jersey Boys, A Life of Crime, Cinderella and Get Hard.

Jersey Boys was easily the best one. Surprisingly Cinderella wasn't the worst one. Fury was a good film but aye it was depressing as fuck as you'd imagine. A Life of Crime and Get Hard were disappointing.

Given the cast of get hard I was thoroughly disappointed. Glad I never watched it in the cinema!

Can relate to 'Still Alice' wi' he wife being in care wi' Alzheimer's noo - early onset like Alice. Touching , moving and realistic account if the gradual deterioration that occurs.

Maybe not one for the young and hopefully there will be a remedy by the time you young guys reach 50+(early) ; 75+(average); 85+(1 in 2).

Julianne Moore(Alice)'s Mum was Scottish and she us proud of her heritage.

Her mother, Anne (née Love; 1940–2009), was a psychologist and social worker from Greenock, Scotland, who emigrated to the United States as a child in 1950.

Watched St. Vincent with Bill Murray last night, fairly amusing and a few good laugh out loud moments.  One to watch with the Mrs, thats for sure.

I found that movie completely depressing. I know war movies are not the funniest of movies but by fuck that was hard going.

Just watched that on movietube, fast forwarded through heaps of it, thought it was shit, I was searching for kajaki but couldn't find it so watched fury, waste of an hour odd

Aye, its very decent imo, dont know how soon films end up on it, but ive never really been in a rush to see the latest releasess.

Watched "The Water Diviner" last night.

Probably not my usual viewing but pretty enjoyable nonetheless.

7/10 from me.

Did I ever mention Show Box?

Free movies and tv shows.

Worth checking oot but they do show up on my scans as having privacy issues. Nae buthered , ah'm nae buyin' anything I dinna wint , especially when advertised over the internet , tv is bad enough.

Checked it out today, they trued to get me to sign up, anything come of that? I'm always mindful of sites that ask stuff from me. Currently using a site I don't need to do anything other than stream, didn't have kajaki right enough though

Seen this een? Pity Wayne Lytle is such a prog rock fan , a metal or hard rock animation would be most excellent.

Watched Kidnapping Mr. Heineken last night, based on the true events in the early 80s. Not the best film but past the time away.
