Can't remember if there was a specific film thread so here goes.

Anyone been/going to the cinema to see anything in particular?

I've been to see Inception and Toy Story 3 recently. Both were fantastic. Saw Toy Story in 3D but I'm not overly sure that it was necessary, but that doesn't detract from the fact that it was a great film. Fitting way to end the trilogy

Sadly this future started quite a while ago. I miss the days of watching things on set days, then chatting about them at work, and looking forward to 'next week'. What an old man thing to say.

  • No one watch films anymore 🤔 Ten months and no posts 😲 Watched "I Swear" last night. A true story of tourettes sufferer John Davidson from Galashiels. Starting with him going to seconda

Anyone Watched Drive?

Best film i have watched in a long time.

No that it means much but it got 93% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Cool Soundtrack as well.

It was alright that film, do think some of the praise for it has been over the top though.  It needed more driving involved if you ask me.

Anyhow.

I decided recently i want to watch some old classic movies.  Anyone got any recommendations?  Currently watching Dr Strangelove on film 4, really funny in places.

"gentleman you cant fight in here, its the war room!"

Class

Any class old Humptey Bogart stuff.

Key Largo

To Have and Have not

Maltese Falcon

etc........

I made the mistake of watching Awaydays recently. Fucking honking. Everyone spunks over the soundtrack though. Nae me.

No bed wetting music?  ;)

No.

Ach the sound track was ok, don't get me wrong. But the folk reviewing the film were overrating it to the extreme.

Or you are a snobby cunt wanting to seem clever.  ;)

I know full well that I don't seem clever.

You are smart enough to realise that though. well done you.

I really enjoyed that, what didn't you like about it?

The lack of tarmaced drives and custom made suits?

I just thought it was a far too slow and had clocked who was going to be the double agent early doors, just based on the casting in the film.

I thought that movie was OK at best.

Das Boot. Excellent.

Director's Cut?

Yip. All 4 hours and change!

Watched "Jeff, who lives at home" last night. Some good amusing moments in the film, but probably one to watch with the other half.

Watched One Day Removals last night.  Very poorly acted but to be fair, there were some genuinely funny moments, much funnier than some of the so called black comedies that have come out of Hollywood recently.

Some great Aiberdonian banter in it

Fuck me, that trailer doesn't do a great job of selling the film at all.

Watched it a few years ago. The younger guy in it used to/does work in Abercrombie bar and was in a Sci-fi film filmed on Balmedie beach.

Really enjoyed Prometheus.  Some rather gory scenes and leaves a few unanswered questions at the end with regard to Alien.  Wouldn't surprise me if there is another Alien prequel in the offing but they need to get Ridley Scott to direct it as well, otherwise it could all go to rat shit (aka Star Wars episodes 1-3).
