Don't want to give any spoilers but it's like a Sorkin kinda show but NASA being the focus in an alternative universe going from the 60s space race. 4 series so far with more on the way and it's genuinely one of rhe best things I've ever seen. I know it's a popular forum, but I'm not sure the audience is that widespread. Anyway, what's the name of the show, it sounds good? 1 Quote

redordead Posted July 14 Report Posted July 14 Enjoyed Dept Q, like a really long and more violent taggart with witty script. Just started running point on netflix with the wife. It's a bit schitts creek with basketball. Easy watching, 30min episodes and she laughs her head off watching it. 1 Quote
manc_don Posted August 14 Report Posted August 14 Have started watching Wednesday on Netflix. We’ve run out of things and it’s an easy watch which my wife approves of. Also been watching Brassic. Not sure how this passed me by (thanks Netflix and kids ruining algorithms). Funny as fuck. Quote
BigAl Posted October 11 Report Posted October 11 Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue. Just don't, watched all six episodes, kept thinking it must get better, but it didn't. Easy to guess plot and frankly unbelievable events Quote
TheDonbytheDee Posted Saturday at 08:39 Report Posted Saturday at 08:39 Trespasses - Set in Belfast during the troubles of the early 70s A young catholic school teacher, falls for a high profile, married, Protestant lawyer. Who is fighting on behalf of detained , supposed IRA terrorists. Stars Gillian Anderson as the drunken mother of the school teacher. Not bad, but couldn't help think it would have made a better film than a four part series. One thing I took from it. Flags on lamposts are very wrong. 1 Quote

I started that but wasn't 100% convinced with first episode. Will persevere. Quote
CurlsLikeTattie Posted Saturday at 10:09 Report Posted Saturday at 10:09 Riot Women. I thought it would be a bit twee and very cringe. The concept certainly has the potential. I wasn't sure what way it would go after the first episode, but had a good feeling. It's brilliant. Didn't want it to end. It'll make you hate men. 1 Quote

Yes, it was good and yes, it didn't portray us men in a good light. Quote

Thought it had a lot of promise, but in my opinion it kind of just petered out during the last episode 3.5/5 Quote

I'm still trying to get the wife to watch house of Guinness with me, but think it’s a bit violent for her tastes in the meantime we’re watching The Beast In Me with Carrie Matheson. Good cast and decent watch so far. Quote

Maybe I just wasn’t in the mood as I couldn’t get past first 20 minutes but others have also raved about it to me so I’ll have to give it another go. I usually enjoy most of Wainwright’s stuff. Just started and enjoying Down Cemetery Road (Apple TV, although available elsewhere ) from both the writer and scriptwriter of Slow Horses. It’s akin to it with a similar funny OTT feel and maybe Killing Eve with OTT characters and performances with several big name actors chewing scenery entertainingly. What grounds and elevates it though is Ruth Wilson. She’s playing it straight and is outstanding. Only ever seen her in The Affair and didn’t even realise she was English. It’s not just her accent, her entire vocal range is different. Emma Thompson (also good) seems to be getting the headlines but it’s Wilson who has blown me away. Only two eps in but hugely enjoyable.
