What Have You Been Watching on TV?

Oz and James Drink to Britain - must be great to get paid going on a booze up round the British Isles.  Very entertaining though.

Total Wipeout - has anyone seen this?  I'd love a crack at it!

I know it's a popular forum, but I'm not sure the audience is that widespread. Anyway, what's the name of the show, it sounds good?

Sounds like Armstrong actually lands on the moon in this one?

Don't be ridiculous. It's not even a planet, just a big projector image that they chuck up every night. Moon, my arse.

Wimbledon...used to really enjoy watching the likes of Borg, McEnroe, Edberg, Becker, Goolagong, Navritilova, Graff.  Now we have 2 drug cheats winning - Sinner "twice tested positive for clostebol, a banned anabolic steroid, in March of 2024"; "Iga Swiatek's case also caused some surprise, with the women's world No 2 accepting a one-month suspension in November after testing positive for the banned substance trimetazidine".  Ben Johnson should be given back his gold medal.

Enjoyed Dept Q, like a really long and more violent taggart with witty script.

Just started running point on netflix with the wife. It's a bit schitts creek with basketball. Easy watching, 30min episodes and she laughs her head off watching it.

Have started watching Wednesday on Netflix. We’ve run out of things and it’s an easy watch which my wife approves of.

Also been watching Brassic. Not sure how this passed me by (thanks Netflix and kids ruining algorithms). Funny as fuck.

Nine Bodies In A Mexican Morgue.

Just don't, watched all six episodes, kept thinking it must get better, but it didn't.

Easy to guess plot and frankly unbelievable events

Trespasses - Set in Belfast during the troubles of the early 70s

A young catholic school teacher, falls for a high profile, married, Protestant lawyer.  Who is fighting on behalf of detained , supposed IRA terrorists.

Stars Gillian Anderson ❤️ as the drunken mother of the school teacher.

Not bad, but couldn't help think it would have made a better film than a four part series.

One thing I took from it.

Flags on lamposts are very wrong.

I started that but wasn't 100% convinced with first episode. Will persevere.

Riot Women. I thought it would be a bit twee and very cringe. The concept certainly has the potential.

I wasn't sure what way it would go after the first episode, but had a good feeling. It's brilliant. Didn't want it to end.

It'll make you hate men.

Yes, it was good and yes, it didn't portray us men in a good light.

Aye, watched it as well.

Thought it had a lot of promise, but in my opinion it kind of just petered out during the last episode

3.5/5

Disappointing, this was on my watch list!

I'm still trying to get the wife to watch house of Guinness with me, but think it’s a bit violent for her tastes 😂

in the meantime we’re watching The Beast In Me with Carrie Matheson. Good cast and decent watch so far.

Wise words, thank you sensei.

Started watching the X Files again.

Used to watch it back in the day, but only from about the fourth series and no catch up services back then.

I wasn't quite 20, when the series first aired in 1993, and here I am re-watching 32 years later.

There are about 220 episodes, but I doubt I will watch them all.

Fallout series 2 has just started on Prime.  Though I'm just going to 🏴‍☠️ it from next week on as the number of long ad breaks they put into it was ridiculous.  A bit annoyed that they are doing this weekly and not the whole thing as the whole point of Fallout is to gorge on it.

Whining aside, solid episode one and can't wait to see where it goes.

The Chris Hoy documentary about his cancer. He’s some guy!

Celebrity Mastermind...Lucy Beaumont (comedian) was asked, "During a visit to Berlin in 1963 which world leader made a famous speech which included the words, "Ich bin ein Berliner" and her answer, "Was it Hitler"?...as you youngsters would type ROFLMOA.

She was 'replaced' as the captain for Hull on University Challenge 40mins later.

Hull got their asses handed to them so no idea if the sub made a difference

A bit late to the party but I read Tresspasses recently as saw author st Edinburgh Book Festival a couple of years ago and noticed that it was coming as a series.

Wasn't overly enthusiastic about the book but will probs watch on tv at some point - didnt really get the connection between them from the pages.
