Summer 2026 Transfer Window

Firstly no intention to wind up Rico ( but it is a bonus) by starting this more than forty eight hours ahead of January window closing BUT as a squad we are all over the fucking place and even at this early stage I would imagine we all would have opinions on what need to happen over the summer.

Appreciate that certain things might be addressed in the remaining forty eight odd hours of the winter one BUT given our performance to date, coupled to us being manager less, I wouldn't stake any money on it

Thoughts lads and lassies

If we bought him, he publicly apologised, took out a two page spread in the P&J outlining all the different ways Huns are pricks, then did a penitent walk of shame from Union St to Pittodrie, I’d

Also, it's good that Besuijen's 10 year contract has finally come to an end.

@RicoS321 I'm sure was talking him up last season. He's decent enough.

Yes I was, he looked very good every time I saw Livi. Uses his body well, gets stuck in and works his arse off, whilst also being technically good. The only thing I would say is that he appears to be better more central, and I'm not sure that's where he'll play for us. Will be interesting to see how he fits in as part of a front three.

Undisclosed fee - whatever it is I’ll take it

Their offer was a dozen training bibs and one of these 1970's footballs.

Lutz played hard ball and got them to offer the bibs and two balls

Remember commenting on Smith in the 1-0 win at Livi earlier in the season. He was toasting our FB for the first half. Think he went off at half time and remember being glad.

Fixed that for you.

Great bit of business then. Noah have been done big time.

Real shame Van Der Ark is long since retired - what a superb transfer that could have been…

Lewis Smith signed

Confirmed

Shall we start the league champions 26-27 thread now, or do we still need one more do you think?

Smith confirmed. Good move for the player, hopefully for us too!

Is Smith a get to the bye line and swing it in with his right foot winger or an inverted cut inside and make the pitch smaller type of winger?

I think he'd do either (by that , I mean he could play on either side). He's not lightning quick, so don't expect the Shayden Morris effect. He's tricky and doesn't get knocked off the ball. I'd actually have him in the same boat as someone like Stevie May or Kenny Miller. Industrious and a good out ball. But also has the ability to make driving runs with the ball. Will definitely suit us if we play as we expect Robinson to play.

Don’t mind hard working- would be good to see our wingers get to the bye line more and cut it back- he didn’t have much up against him but on Saturday was good to see Yogane beating the full back and crossing it in

Doesn’t sound like smith is a winger though - inside forward in old money- a foil off the main striker perhaps

It is good to have these options

From Stephen Robinson: "Dons fans can expect an energetic, attack-minded winger who is deceptively quick, works tirelessly for the team, is comfortable with either foot and carries a genuine goal threat."

🎶 He's a winger, he plays with both feet, and his name is Lewis Smith 🎶

Never heard of him, but signing a player from the worst team in the league doesn't sound like a good idea.

It's possible to be a good player in a poor team.

Have a friend who’s a Livi season ticket holder I dropped him a text and he responded:-

“Absolute cracking player.David Martindale never brought out his full potential. Give him the ball and he’ll sprint up the wings and take a shot or feed a lovely pass in. Could be the best signing of the season for you.”

Sounds promising.

First I’ve really heard of Lewis smith, but sounds like a very positive signing. Stronger than mcginn, but a mcginn type who can play any attacking position by the sounds of things. If we can sign Congreve that would be a pretty solid summer……and perhaps punt palaversa Ambrose and yengi before the end of the window.

We yet to be hit by a sale of a player we don’t want to lose, we don’t have that many proven players. Mitov, but hard to think who else would really be a loss. If frame goes I don’t really consider that a loss, showed promise but if he doesn’t want to be here in steps Mercer whose a home grown lad.

We seem to have depth at present, eager to see us play competitive games.

Livi fans on P&B reckon he’s a steal at £300k

Makes a change for opposition fans laughing at us signing their players. The chat on this guy seems to be good, so fingers crossed it works out for him with us!

Aberdeen have agreed a deal worth around £300,000 to sign Livingston winger Lewis Smith, with the 26-year-old having completed his medical and agreed to a long-term contract

That's the spirit 🫣

Welcome to the Dons Lewis, and all the best min.

If you turn out to be similar or on a par with the last "Lewis" we signed who was a graduate of the Accies youth academy then you do just fine.

Linked with a German goalie called Marius Muller.

Plays for Wolfsburg at the moment.

With a name like Muller, he should be good at corners.

Rumours abound that Mitov has asked to leave.

He played one game last season, and got booked in it, and was suspended for a first team game from presumably getting too many yellows (or sent off) for the reserves.

A hot head? I love it. Sign him up.

This is the sort of back up we need, someone to push mitov. Hopefully he stays.
