Firstly no intention to wind up Rico ( but it is a bonus) by starting this more than forty eight hours ahead of January window closing BUT as a squad we are all over the fucking place and even at this early stage I would imagine we all would have opinions on what need to happen over the summer.

Appreciate that certain things might be addressed in the remaining forty eight odd hours of the winter one BUT given our performance to date, coupled to us being manager less, I wouldn't stake any money on it

Of the remaining twenty, I don't think there's a single player you'd be concerned about losing. Most seasons you could name at least one player who leave a big hole when missing. I can't think of anyone who fits that description. Maybe Robinson was right about Lyons. You could put a mix of any of those 28 on the pitch and not be significantly worse.

Is it fair to say we’ve way over spent in recent years and this is a cut back year? Not only with players but paying off managers. We gambled and speculated, doubled down, but then no Europe. It’s almost like a reset year, start from scratch. No long term contracts and hopefully maybe 6 or so of this group are good enough to build on next year? It’s very clear it’s been a no thrills window, very blue collar and practical.

It’s been all doom and gloom. We’ve gone from the excitement of a last minute karlsson to a free agent freebie after the window closes. Club won’t say it but it’s a reset year.

Not a fan of Robinson but he’ll get no love or breaks from the fans, and that’s harsh. We were perfect league cup, you can only beat who is in front of you. We played the top three teams from last year already, that’s a hard ask. Losing all 3 would not have been a surprise. We were shit last year and gutted the team, it won’t be good for a while, hard to expect us to compete with the best teams straight away, think we have to be fair and realistic.

1 pt from killie and Dundee is certainly disappointing, but throw in new players and the tough other games, were expecting the team to hit the running, and that hard.

Said last season I’d give Thelin until Xmas before judging, doing the same with Robinson. Not seeing much positive to be honest, but got to give the guy a fair chance.

When I’m trying to be optimistic this is pretty much how I try to see things too OD. There is no doubt that SR was brought in as a partial panic but also to stabilise things a bit. There’s also no doubt he’s on a tighter budget, he’s suggested as much himself. We can’t possibly balance the books with the spending we’ve been doing and no clear financial rewards (big player sales, trophies and European football).

That said, SR doesn’t seem to be stabilising things at all. If anything we are looking more erratic, shambolic and devoid of any structure, system or style. As the guys on The Terrace said last week, we’re getting all the shit SR traits without the good ones (hard to play against, battling, legs etc). I’m also looking at other clubs who have had to gut squads and start again (St Mirren, Motherwell, Falkirk and Dundee as comparisons rather than Hearts who are a bit more of an anomaly at this point) and they are doing much better than us. Competing with OF in games, looking well coached and generally gelling quicker with a clear style and structure.

While there are clearly significant limitations to his coaching ability and all round approach, I continue to believe that SR has a degree of capability and should be able to settle us but I think there is a chaotic backdrop to his tenure in Cormack and possibly Lutz that isn’t helping.

Tomorrow is massive. Could a win spark a run? Not a lot suggesting we do get a positive result tomorrow, but maybe a little luck is what’s needed. We can hope.

Yeah, not sure Huns are a great benchmark at the moment. Yes, they are getting the points but they are playing terribly and eking out wins. Fans are not impressed.

Agree that winning changes things for the better, as long as it builds confidence which then brings more willingness to do the right things and play to a structure or style. Otherwise it just papers over the cracks.

We might get a result tomorrow, SR does seem to like the LC so he may have the tactical nous to navigate this game. Killie may even underestimate us based on how abjectly pish we were last weekend. Who knows, it’s a pinball machine lottery at this stage. Pull back the lever and see how we go. COYR I think.

I think the Huns are a good example. They are winning, but factor in the expectations of their fans, they expect to win the World Cup.

I don’t care how we play at present. I’d argue we don’t really have the players to play good football. But winning changes things. Lay the foundation, grind out results. Then build, sign the flair to compliment the heavy lifters, and it ‘should’ get prettier. We’ve hired a manager who is used to working with heavy lifters and it’s not going to be particularly pretty. Not convinced we have the foundation at all, but that’s my understanding of the logic behind what we’re doing.
