RicoS321 Posted Sunday at 21:40 Report Posted Sunday at 21:40 Watched on the telly internet, but just catching up with the thread. A good defensive display. I felt we struggled with the pitch a lot, despite it looking absolutely fine. There were a number of times when players ran beyond balls and struggled to turn quickly, and a few touches that struck me as unusual, even for some of our lads currently. Couldn't tell if it was too sticky, or just that they were tired. Tiredness is certainly a big issue for us this season, we really aren't coping with the two fixtures per week well at all. Every game following Europe we've looked sluggish. The same could be said for every team in that situation of course, it's quite common. In that regard, to come away with three points is not to be sniffed at. If we can limp over the line until January, picking up wins like today then that's fine. I think it's the way it has to be. It is ironic that since Livi have started playing football, their now more likely to go down. Martindale is going to have to bring back the shitefest soon. Hopefully we can let him borrow ours. Quote
Goldie03 Posted Monday at 07:43 Report Posted Monday at 07:43 That was my first game of the season and a great 3 points, nice company, shopping, bacardi, chips and a cracking goal what's not to like 3 Quote
Elgindon Posted yesterday at 16:27 Report Posted yesterday at 16:27 A pretty honest description of the game from Devlin..."to be honest,I thought we were rubbish" https://www.facebook.com/reel/25077415465288519 1 Quote
OneBrianIrvine. Posted yesterday at 17:43 Report Posted yesterday at 17:43 Bloody love Devlin. He’s felt like ‘Aberdeen’ from day one. Rare for me to take to a player so early and so completely but feels like he’s been here forever not just 2 1/2 years. There can be better players at us for longer who don’t feel so integral to the club for me. He’s not perfect but not coincidental to me that our results are better when he’s in the team (I think?). I just like how the guy conducts himself. Chuffed he’s back getting a consistent run in the team. 8 Quote

Wish he was 22 not 32 and I would be giving him a five year contract 2 Quote

Bit like a rougvie, simmie, cooper, maybe more recently Andy considine, even a Ross mcccrorie. Much like shinnie, if only we had more Scottish players like them (I suppose non Scots are ok too.) i was very proud of him when he played for Scotland and gutted when he didn’t play in the latter part of last season, a factor in our form and results in my opinion. Worth noting our form has picked up this season when he stayed in the team, not a huge deal and I know we changed formation, but a factor. Quote

If our starting 11 on the pitch had the same commitment and attitude that Devlin has then we would be winning more games than we would be losing that is a fact. Just love his honesty and his attitude it's fcukin brilliant. will he get a shout for Scotland next summer? I would just love for that to happen for him, but not sure it will. On the Livi game itself now that is most certainly the definition of winning ugly but we won and we take the three points and move on to the St Midden game tonight. Lot's of credit has to be given to Shinnie for the winning goal as his never give up, grit and determination attitude won that ball for him, how his legs keep him going I will never know. Nice wee layoff to Topi who then put it on a plate for Devlin, and incidentally thats the last three games Topi has been directly involved in our goal in each game. v Hearts (scored) v Noah (assist for Nisbet) v Livi (assist for Devlin) and some of our fickle support still say he is shite Quote

One of my Aberdeen group chats on what's app is called the "Nicky Devlin appreciation society" for very good reason. Absolutely adore him! 2 Quote

Always had a lot of time for the lad. 'Good honest pro' to quote some TV bloke or two. Quote
