IIRC DeeDon posted seeing several rumours he was off to Hibs earlier in the year. He made a right arse of selling the league cup final tickets against the hun but commercial side of things seems to be much lauded. Quote

blinlemon Posted December 8 Report Posted December 8 Old warrior dozes off, misses AGM. A boardroom coup to seize power on behalf of the Sooth Stand Socialist Collective will therefore be delayed for another 12 months and, concomitantly, the timescale of the intended free matchday issue of the People’s Skirlie, the unilateral ban on VAR within a hunner km of Pittodrie, and the installation of a mass shower system over the away support section - fed by the Pittodrie urinals - will be affected negatively. Our mission, however, will not be denied, diluted, or thwarted. No faith have we in prince or peer. 1 1 Quote
blinlemon Posted December 8 Report Posted December 8 I have washed my hands after sloping over to https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/aberdeen-agm-live-dave-cormack-36369957# which is about the only informative source I can find on the 2025 AGM, about which I forgot and missed. The iPhone diary alert system is the Andy Harrow of apps. If the northern outpost of union-shunning DC Thomson is given any sort of look-in, I imagine there will be grudging coverage in the city edition of the morn’s Pish & Jism and the Evening Excretion. No controversy, it seems, other than the penguin kidnapper pictured onstage wearing a collar and tie. Quote

Ajja Posted December 9 Report Posted December 9 (edited) Interesting read in the latest post from Gavin MacPhee for those who follow his stuff. Particularly if you love to unpack the Relationalism and Positionalism aspects of the Dons set up https://open.substack.com/pub/afc1903/p/changes?r=4fdh0v&utm_medium=ios Edited December 9 by Ajja Quote
Don Julio Posted Tuesday at 22:00 Report Posted Tuesday at 22:00 No first hand accounts of the AGM? Quote
blinlemon Posted Tuesday at 22:59 Report Posted Tuesday at 22:59 Very sketchy report in the Pish & Jism today, concentrating on The Mannie With The Armitage Shanks Smile and Burrows meeting with Cooncillors Yuill and Allard* on Friday to discuss the issues preventing the Cremola Foam Dome being realised as a joint aspiration. Cormack is apparently encouraging fans to vote in the cooncil elections in May 27 with Pittodrie 2 in mind. I’ll just put my ham-fisted X down for the Workers’ Revolutionary Party as usual. No penguins reported onstage, nor among the biscuit offering with the usually-bowfin post-meeting refreshments. *not to be confused with the Miners’ strike scab bastards Yuill and Dodds 1 Quote

TheDonbytheDee Posted Wednesday at 04:11 Report Posted Wednesday at 04:11 I still find it hard to believe, that despite spending a fortune on employing the folk sitting at the top table, at the AGM, that the prick Stewart Milne, still hangs around our club like a bad smell. 3 Quote
swaddon Posted Wednesday at 09:52 Report Posted Wednesday at 09:52 Antoine Kombouare says he would "jump at the chance" to manage Aberdeen. He must be well into his eighties now. 2 Quote
tom_widdows Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Not for the likes of me to start a matchday thread and especially not one for a game in the new year so, by any chance can a 'real fan' (reference to old arguments from original AFC Chat) log-in to the dons tickets and see if there are currently any seats left for the Falkirk game on January 3rd? The site doesnt say its sold out but does say if any are left they will eventually open them up to the sort of people who haven't set foot inside pittodrie since December 10th 2016. I suspect given the upturn in fortunes any spare tickets will vanish before a general sale but you never know and it would be nice to attend two games this season Quote
tlg1903 Posted 17 hours ago Report Posted 17 hours ago For the first time this season we have a positive goal difference. Also worth noting that despite our grim start to the season we have actually now won a game more than the three teams above us. Hibs have played the same number of games, the huns 1 less and Motherwell 1 more. 2 Quote

Someone mentioned in the match thread the stadium was a bit gurny in general the first half and I think this is why. I suppose we are streaky team under JT but my feeling is we are all really going to enjoy the second half of the season as this team is starting to look like it has real potential. Europe has been a real hindrance (though if we started the season with the team as it is now I think we would have done loads better) but without it and, touch wood, some astute in's and outs in January (cometh the hour, cometh the Lutz perhaps) I think we will be in great shape. One thing I think bodes particularly well is the 6-0 we have got this season doesn't seem to have affected us even remotely like it did last season. For one thing that was at our lowest ebb this season as opposed to riding on the crest of a wave with our best start in our history. It's also bodes well the way we have scrapped our way out of this hole we were in. Quote
OrlandoDon Posted 15 hours ago Report Posted 15 hours ago We seem to have a real determination about us. Very proud of this current run. Certainly not pretty but we’re winning games. I also think we’ve got a decent number of players with strong mentalities, specifically shinnie knoester devlin adil Armstrong and lazetic. Add the impressive play and toughness of Milne and lobban to that. While not everyone’s cup of team, I’ll add the swagger of karlsson to that list too. Europe has really not been a great thing, almost getting in the way. January and a notmal schedule will be good. Add 2-3 strong signings (hopefully!) then the second half is really intriguing. Celtic are in crisis, rangers not that much better, and who know what happens with hearts. If everyone beats everyone who knows what the second half of the season brings. 2 Quote

Europe’s just income, which in turn pays for the bigger squad required to serve the Thursday-Sunday timetable, but as ‘Bambi’ said in the Young Ones’ University Challenge episode, “the rich kids always win”. Midge Ure has never commented on this. 1 Quote
