Whoever sanctioned this at AFC does not have a clue about the majority of their fanbase or more likely give a toss. They should be hounded out of town as they are obviously a huge part of the disease that is eating our club.

Apparently we’re away to sign Liam Morrison a Scottish CH from QPR. Can’t say I know the boy, but if he can actually win a defensive header he’ll do me.

Also a Finnish striker is on the way too apparently.

Just fit i’ve heard this afternoon, might be shite, time will tell…

Morrison, 22, is interesting. Rangers and Celtic as a kid, Bayern Munich 2 for 3 years which included a loan at Wigan.

a striker who can finish?? We have a few that are finished. I’ll get my coat….

Porteous would be a great signing. Morrison must have something about him but not so clear cut.

Morrison is highly regarded but the odd man out at QPR, LAFC are in preseason playing early rounds of CONCACAF in Champs league, he’s not been playing, not even on the bench, no clue why. With it being a world cup year both are realistic options.

Morrison is a loan deal not permanent 🤔

He’s highly regarded and recently signed an improved deal. Think they have three legit central defenders and he’s currently third.

So how would people feel if we signed Ryan Porteous on loan?? Read it in a couple of places, could be shite.

My only issue with Porteous has been his poor disciplinary record, at this level though he's a very good CB and whilst it a big contributor to his poor disciplinary record I do love a nasty bastard centre half.

Are we doing the whole not signing players while there's not a long term manager in place again? Horrendous approach. Are we seriously going to displace another first team player for a loanee?

Sorry, think I am missing your point there

Are you suggesting it isn't a loan deal we are pursuing here 🤔

Online articles all say it is a loan

We could literally line up this weekend with four of our starting line up being loan players.

When you take into account the money we have spent in the last three transfer windows, I would strongly suggest that that is an unacceptable scenario in anyone's language 🤔

So much for the apparent trading model

No, explaining why as you weren’t clear whether you were pondering is it a loan, why is it a loan, or it is a loan. I’m no expert on emojis!
neither are playing right now, but both are valued at their clubs so getting them permanently would be tough. Looks like LAFC play their first game of the season in mid Feb.

Both want to make the World Cup squad so I can understand their clubs supporting them for a few months. One is odd man out, porteous doesn’t miss a ton of time for LA given their season is spring to autumn with a World Cup gap.

Is it next year the MLS switches to European July to May season then?

2027 (into 2028) is a funky transitional year.

Was wondering as vaguely remembered seeing it was changing but could not remember when.

Ronnie Edwards from Southampton coming in on a deal at QPR so he’s slipping down the order too.

Will be interesting to see how our fans feel about developing another team's player(s)...

Refer to post on match thread- loan system just allows clubs to manipulate their squads- we do the same with our youngsters (and our shite players when nobody will buy them when under contract)

doesn’t matter who the loan comes from - loans are one sided without an agreement to buy ( which is another way of manipulating financial rules)- but loans from 2 teams in the same league should not be allowed
