wee toon red Posted Thursday at 11:52 Report Posted Thursday at 11:52 Miovski isn't worth (to us) the money it would take to get him, let alone what he'd be looking for in wages. Even at a modest £10k per week you'd be looking at money that could and should be used to strengthen the entire squad rather than spent on one player. Fair enough if a no9 was the only missing link between us and winning the league but that's hardly the case. I've said it before but finding the next Miovski is the job, not bringing the old one back. Sorry to be the boring realis Quote

Sorry to be the boring realis Your logic is, of course, incredibly sound. I still would snap your hand of to see him in red again though. Quote

Not just all that though, our model is based on selling players, and Miovski would hopefully have been a great advert of what we can produce. I think Girona could be making a mistake by getting rid of him, and hopefully another club of similar stature take a punt and get the best out of him. It's quite like the Ramsay situation for me. Both players were the pinnacle of their respective departments, and they've both gone on to fail (so far, plenty of time for both). We've obviously had Ferguson as a success, McKenna, Ramadani and so on, but it'd be worth a lot, in terms of reputation, to be churning out these success stories with regularity. A successful Miovski would allow us to demand the same or more for signings in future. I don't doubt that Miovski's high fee was influenced by the success of Ferguson and Ramadani for example. 2 Quote
OrlandoDon Posted Thursday at 12:24 Report Posted Thursday at 12:24 With European football and squad depth/rotation an obvious factor, that makes dorrington okkels Mackenzie dabbagh McGrath doohan and mcgarry gone so far. 7 out and 4 in. Jensen ruby vinnie Duncan and Iāll add ambrose are questionable. Sokler??? What we thinking, at least 4-5 more in?Ā would love to see a legit center mid. I doubt weāll see shinnie and sivert together in center mid, we really could do with a Ferguson type, or a legit number 10. Agree re miovski, think weād see borat at pittodrie before bojan again. A 9 and center mid for me have to be certain starters. Quote

Obviously, discounting Shinnie, who was then wasn't here, and is again. We've got zero long term players once Shinnie returns. He was a Glass/Robson era signing wasn't he? Seem to remember him being brought in as a replacement for Ryan Hedges and the result being assists for Ramirez completely drying up and Ramirez being accused of downing tools because his close friend Glass (who he hadn't met until 6 months prior) got sacked. I could look on the internet, but I refuse. I thought he was a January signing of McInnes' last season. Maybe on a pre-contract, or was he injured or something and didn't actually play under McInnes? I thought Hedges left under McInnes too, so I'm probably just a year out on all of it. Quote
