  1. Even if he was correct from a tactical point of view (he wasn’t), why would you bring on Morris ahead of Besuijen and Duncan? Ramirez would have offered more than Watkins too but Goodwin obviously still hasn’t proven his male dominance over him just quite yet.
  2. We took off 2 strikers, one of whom is very good at holding up the ball and replaced them with Shayden Morris and someone named after a dog. And we signed a goalkeeper who seems to have been assembled with components from a pinball machine.
  3. Not liking this tactical substitution…
  4. Fantastic defending by our captain there.
  5. What’s Barron doing there for McGregor’s goal? Turning his back on the shot instead of putting himself in the way. Absolute fanny.
  6. I reckon you’d fit a stadium on the Broadford Works site, that could be decent especially if we re-use the red bricks into the design. Plenty of pubs on all sides. Possibility of sticking a rudimentary train platform on the existing track with 100 metres. More footfall for George Street businesses.
  7. Leon Mike-Mike-Mike
  8. The only way you’ll know for sure is to shut yourself off from AFC completely (watching matches, engaging on social media, forums, etc) and see if it makes you happy.
  9. “Pittodrie generates around 400,000 visits every year but the report suggests that bigger and better facilities could bring an additional 350,000 visitors per year for major events alone.” Is the council still not on the hook for knocking down the AECC and building TECA to attract more visitors for major events? Knocking down a beachside stadium, leisure centre and skating rink to build a beachside stadium and “community leisure complex” about 100 metres away doesn’t seem like something that will almost double the amount of visitors, especially if they’re relying on the increase coming from major events which would seriously disrupt the TECA business case. That said, I’m now an Aberdeenshire Council tax payer so let them crack on.
  10. The only positive contribution Ramadani seems to have made so far is talking Miovski into signing for us. Certainly not the midfield enforcer he was heralded as, more a soggy Bisconti.
  11. They could probably get Derek McInnes or Michael O’Neill if they pushed the boat out. Not terribly exciting but they’d get consistent top 6 finishes and cup semi finals which is probably enough for them to include in their honours list.
  12. Probably still for the best, if Potter is going to blood young players like Gilmour into his Chelsea team when he has a blank chequebook available to him, I can’t see him lasting long. And better for Scotland if he gets used to “carrying” an average team rather than being surrounded by world class players. Still not convinced his career won’t take an Oliver Burke style nosedive though.

Minute’s silence at home to the Huns will be interesting
  15. Scott Wright is starting a Champions League group match. Who would’ve saw that coming a couple of years ago?
  16. Last time I checked, Goodwin isn’t my wife, so if that’s the case just be open and direct about it? “He doesn’t fit into my team and as he’s on a big contract it would be best for all parties if we could find him a transfer away” The overwhelming response to that would be “aye ok, fair enough”.
  17. Some weird quotes from Goodwin in the Daily Record this morning about him not being prolific enough from when he was appointed last season which overlooks the complete lack of creativity in the team at the time. Plus if it was purely down to his scoring statistics, surely his pre-season and League Cup performances were enough to at least keep him on the bench.
  18. I feel a bit sorry for him. Unfairly accused of downing tools when Glass got sacked but I think you can more accurately track his dip in form to when Ryan Hedges was sold and not adequately replaced. Seemed to try hard and do relatively well in pre-season and seems to be relentlessly positive when plenty of other players would take a big sulk.
  19. Employing that dour Poundshop-Derek-McInnes charlatan as manager is probably a bigger contributor. He’s done absolutely nothing as a manager other than get a St Mirren side luckily brimming with generational talent promoted and done nothing other than make average teams more average since. Yet he’ll still get mentioned for top roles every time there’s a vacancy. Baffling.
  20. Imagine, just imagine being as tinpot as Dundee United.
  21. Jim’s loon looks a player. Vinny’s footwork has been brilliant. Scales doesn’t look out of place at left back, bombing up the flank like peak Considine. Only negative has been Stewart’s passing, although his general tackling and reading of the game has been excellent, but must be sitting on 25% passing success rate.
  22. That’s Morris confirmed on a 4 year deal.
  23. Polvara would benefit from a 6 month loan to a Championship team.
  24. I’d be a bit worried if Coulson was our first choice left back considering he hardly got a game in his last 2 loans to Ipswich and Peterborough. More likely to be Hayes in a deeper role if he’s still looking to bring in another winger.
  25. Top bins is a Soccer AM thing isn’t it? Sometimes see some bellends on my FB feed sharing videos (before I muted them) of that mewling quim Jimmy Bullard trying to kick the ball into wheelie bins that have been zip tied to goalposts.
