  1. Unless I’m getting my timelines mixed up, Milne also had the opportunity to buy up the land behind the Merkland and South Stands so we didn’t need to be in this pickle in the first place. An incredibly stupid business decision by whoever it was calling the shots (assuming there wasn’t an inherent desire to tear us away from Pittodrie). Even if the chances were minimal that we’d build on the land, it would still be an appreciating asset that could easily be sold again later if we truly didn’t need it.
  2. It’ll be fine, chuck in Considine’s coaching gig as a sweetener. We need to properly clean the stench of Scott Brown from our club.
  3. Yeah this whole “actually it’s not my fault, I didn’t really want to hire him anyway, big boys did it and ran away” shtick is embarrassing. As is the whole realisation that he’s responsible for the delivery of a new stadium and is putting all of his eggs into the basket of the usual local council pre-election pie-in-the-sky promises and trying to distance himself completely from Kingsford which I’m sure he had a massive say in from the very start. He’s going to look an even bigger cock if the party promising the new stadium/pier loses the election and/or it turns out the location proposed with a smaller footprint than our current stadium is not feasible from an engineering point of view (e.g. cost of groundworks). He’s basically David Brent with better teeth. Who’s actually running the club on a day to day basis these days anyway since they got rid of Duncan Fraser? Rob Wicks? Or is he just on the commercial side of things?
  4. Graeme Shinnie isn’t getting much game time at Wigan, taken off at half time in the last (rare) game he started. They only paid £30k for him, wouldn’t be surprised if he’s available on the cheap.
  5. Especially if he was the only candidate interviewed.
  6. Someone must have told Ferguson there was a scout in the crowd watching him or something. I lost count of the amount of times in the first half he dropped deep to take the ball from Bates and launched a Hollywood pass to no man’s land as if he thought he was the bastard love child of Lothar Mattheus and Tom Brady. If he is going to act the cunt, he could at least have the decency to be good while doing it so we can get a decent transfer fee.
  7. A statement alleging leaking a confidential meeting is a wee bit embarrassing and very naive to think that telling someone he’s going to be out of a job in 2 months and expect him not to go to his agent to help him find a new job straight after the meeting. If I’m being laid off, I’m not hanging about to wait for a wishy washy statement, I’m going on the offensive immediately so I can pay my mortgage. I’ll bet the counter offer is still less than what he’s on now. And you can’t really guarantee a future coaching gig, just ask Scott Brown. This has been handled very poorly.
  8. Hopefully Atlanta give us a couple of mill for Ramirez if he is going to leave. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s thinking of a last push to get to the World Cup as he’s a bit off the radar here. Doesn’t look like his career crossed paths with Glass so doubt he’d be too attached to someone he’d known for about 6 months. Punting Considine should be off the table completely, it makes zero sense if he’s fit enough to continue. A model professional who can play in a position that can be very difficult to fill.
  9. Boskalis looks good on the women’s strips.
  10. Jamie Langfield must be on his way up the road
  11. What’s the point of Taylor ahead of Hickey?
  12. I think we’re banking on St Johnstone taking something off Livingston at home assuming we win both our matches. I think we’ve got the best goal difference out of most of the teams above us.
  13. I’d give it to Ramirez, his relentless positivity would be a welcome change from the usual shouty clappy-handy captain role and seems like the kind of person that would transcend any changing room divides/cliques.
  14. Good, all the glee at him winding up Kent enough to get him sent off didn’t really sit well with me, too much old firmy pandery nonsense for me. We should be above all of that with our own players who hate the Huns for moral reasons, not religious reasons. He can take his pointing and his little shorts and fuck off to obscurity in Cyprus with his drinking buddy. Let’s kick the tyres on Graeme Shinnie instead, doesn’t seem to be getting much of a look in at Wigan since signing for them. One of our own. I can get behind him kicking cunts in the air without feeling dirty.
  15. Would be interesting to know if St Mirren would need to pay up Brown’s contract and we essentially get Goodwin for free, or if he’s got a managerial release clause written into his contract. I think we’re still on the hook to pay his full player salary next season too so wouldn’t be too bad if he left to be their manager.
  16. Depends if they want to go through all of that hassle and espionage because they want to hire someone who got sacked by Stockport County in about the 10th tier of English football. Correct answer is the obvious answer, Strachan is a charlatan and his getting his mate in to help him bleed dry the idiots they have running the club.
  17. They’ll need to do the presser at Pittodrie, it’s carmageddon outside Cormack Park at the moment.
  18. The thing with statistics…
  19. Idealist? Probably you’re right, I still daydream about knocking in the winner for us in the Champions League final. That’s probably what I was doing when I didn’t see these hundreds of goal attempts you saw us have in the last 12 months.
  20. It’s only one criterion on the list of things we should be looking for in a manager, the ability to build and lead a team that is stronger than its individual components. Playing style is another. If Tommy Wright hadn’t made an arse of the Killie job and wasn’t a renowned hoofball merchant then his name would probably be on the shortlist. But he did and he is so he isn’t. If Ross had a track record of playing attractive progressive football then he’d be a good option despite his track record. But he doesn’t. He’s a dour, overly conservative coward. He has lost just about every big game he has ever managed and makes zero sense as an option considering the reasons we sacked Derek McInnes. Jack Ross is basically Derek McInnes with the positive attributes removed and the negative attributes turned up to 11.
  21. Ross did cock-all with Sunderland despite having more resources than any other team in the league. They spent £4m on a striker and lost at Wembley twice in a season. At Hibs he managed a third place finish with arguably the third highest budget and only real challenger was an Aberdeen team in decline. Again, he choked in multiple finals. I’m not sure if he was responsible for recruitment at Hibs but the amount of absolute dross they acquired during his tenure was staggering. At least Goodwin has shown he is able of punching above his weight, something Ross has arguably never achieved.
  22. Jack Ross seems to have built his entire reputation on what he achieved with St Mirren in the Championship. He’s done absolutely nothing with Sunderland and Hibs to suggest he can be a successful manager. Goodwin has already done more with St Mirren than Ross did.
  23. Ryan Duncan looking good for Peterhead against Dundee. Throwing his weight about quite a bit for an attacking player.
  24. Slavisa Jokanovic another potentially worth kicking the tyres on to see if he’d fit into our budget.
  25. Jon Dahl Tomasson is available, could be worth a shout?
