  1. It was a complete brainfart from Marshall but he played quite well other than that and at least you can be confident he won't do it again. The other options on the bench are not much better really. I'd go same team again but with Adams replacing Dykes, Tierney replacing Cooper and Forrest replacing O'Donnell. Absolutely nailed on that Clarke will shoehorn McGregor into the starting 11 but he doesn't really bring much to the table. No chance Gilmour gets the nod ahead of him. Not overly convinced Nisbet is much more than an average player enjoying a purple patch. Although admittedly I haven't watched him play that much. And may be red tinted glasses but I think McKenna is better than both Hanley and Hendry and would have won the header for their first goal.
  2. "baggy89 has quoted a post of yours from 2007" Jesus, now I know what Philip Schofield feels like every time he opens a newspaper.
  3. Too similar to Chris Maguire and we won't have room for both of them in the squad.
  4. I'd be more annoyed about Patterson if we had any other options at RB. O'Donnell is fucking dire, every bit the player that could only interest Motherwell when available on a free transfer twice in the last 12 months.
  5. There is, but you need to get the police involved...
  6. We need a new reserve team manager then. Hold on, we've already got an experienced reserve team manager on our books, problem solved!
  7. He turns 26 this year and (according to Wikipedia) his playing experience amounts to 18 games in the US 4th tier, 17 games in the US 2nd tier and a solitary substitute appearance for Atlanta first team.
  8. Treacherous wee cunt
  9. The Sun is linking us with Jackson Irvine. In same article, Martin Boyle has a ÂŁ500k buyout clause in his contract. Must be worth testing the waters at that kind of money.
  10. Everything about this guy’s background suggests he’s pish. He’s 3rd choice right back in a team that features Jake Mulraney in the first 11. He’s 25 and has played a total of 1 single first team professional matches in his career. Most of his “professional” experience seems to consist of a single season playing for a reserve team managed by one Stephen Glass. So in a way I’m happy to sign him as it will be a very early indicator of what Glass is all about. If this guy signs as a starting RB and is completely out of his depth, we can reasonably infer that Glass is either a terrible judge of player or a stooge for some pan-Atlantic soccer franchise experiment (or both). If he’s actually good then that’s obviously a better outcome.
  11. If a big fee for Ferguson allows us to offer an enticing contract to Campbell from Motherwell, I’d be happy with that.
  12. I had a look on a Rotherham forum the other day, the consensus seemed to be that Robertson was their best defender when fit. Unfortunately “when fit” happens as often as it does for Mikey Devlin for us seemingly and he has a bit of a reputation for being a hypochondriac/fanny.
  13. If McGinn is leaving, Watkins would be an adequate replacement. Not as a “No. 9” though.
  14. I don’t think he’d be a good fit for us but if he’s free and wages are not too high, good option to throw on from the bench to give opposition defenders something different to contend with. Too often we're in a position where our game plan is not really working and you look to our bench and see the same usual faces that are not going to change anything.
  15. Club’s statement basically said they have just found out about it which makes the “Allan has taken full responsibility” line a bit confusing. Poor form to take a job knowing you have a national interest court case coming up and not mention anything about it. He better be fucking good at his job...
  16. Hud on, aren't they spoon burning fucks because they're also in Leith?
  17. The player keeping him out of the team is American with an Irish passport, could be another potential loanee coming our way in the future. Was signed by Liverpool as a youth player and his father is named John Lennon. Imagine.
  18. I think it's going to be a season of transition whether we like it or not, most likely with a struggle to finish top 4. If we are going to lose 10 first team players, I would rather we focused on our top 3/4 targets and filled the rest of the gaps with blooding younger players and loan signings. If we're going to have patchy results anyway, I wouldn't be against having Ramsay and Mackenzie as our first choice full backs for a season. We can always put McCrorie and Considine in if they're really not up to it. It's a great opportunity to be able to give some of the younger players a prolonged place in the starting 11 without the fear of being immediately dropped upon having a bad game.
  19. Main signings will presumably be whoever the new Atlanta manager doesn’t fancy. Jake Mulraney most likely.
  20. Probably just waiting for him to get match fit, he's been chilling on a beach for past couple of months.
  21. Looks like Kennedy is being volunteered rather than volunteering.
  22. Our wage bill is 50% higher than Hibs according to Cormack.
  23. Griffiths will be out of contract unless Celtic trigger an extension clause entitling him to another year on £20k per week. So either he’s available for free or Celtic would be choosing to subsidise about 75% of his future wages for a rival club. Seems unlikely.
  24. Lots of mentions of the word “coach” with no mentions of “assistant” anywhere. Doesn’t sound like he’s coming to be second in command from that press release.
  25. I wouldn't be surprised to see a couple of youth team players getting a start, Ross and Ramsay perhaps.
