  1. Oot unfortunately. Bad feeling about this one, think the North East’s limited gene pool could be the telling factor. Would absolutely love to see us put one over that horrible ginger tosser though. COYR!!
  2. In Win 2-1 May double Top of the league by 5pm, because I suspect the tims are about to come a cropper for the first time in yonks.
  3. Oot High scoring win for the dons, 3-1 or 4-2 May, Christie and Considine among the goals, inevitably Moult with their reply.
  4. Motherwell wanted it more, they were fired up and once they went ahead (albeit fortuitously) their confidence grew. When we went two down it should have been a time for calm heads, patience, and a strategic plan to find a way back into the game - we showed none of those things. I remember in Keane's book he wrote about Man Utd's approach when they went 2-0 down in Turin, how it focused everyone's minds and their mission became clear. We were like headless chickens, no obvious shape or tactics, no composure, it was painful viewing. Pass marks for Christie who never gave up and always wanted the ball. All the others, including DMC, should be feeling ashamed today. (Also......We're all hurting lads, but pointless and petty insults and name calling isn't going to help. We're all on the same side here, don't forget that.)
  5. Oot Last minute dash to the pub to watch it on telly High scoring win for the dons, 3-1 or 4-2 May, Christie and Considine among the goals, inevitably Moult with their reply. Drawn against Hibs in the semis.
  6. How the fuck does that complete spaz Hoddle still get a gig summarising on the telly? At least the studio pundits (reluctantly) pointed out Walker should have been red carded - while the commentators could only describe it as a 'brilliant recovery'.
  7. G_G, I just read that whole post and genuinely appreciate your feedback, and your attendance at a meeting I didn't even know was happening. I've kept my thoughts about kingsford to myself (pretty much) thus far. My emotional attachment to Pittodrie and (I guess) my age make it naturally instinctive for me to resist change, especially when it comes to something I care about so deeply - but I must admit even I have been persuaded by the passionate arguments from the manager, and other posters on here, that this is the right way forward for our club. I would never profess to 'know better' than anyone else, and I can see both sides of the 'for' and 'against' debate, but I do think the time has come for us to move on and accept that modern day fitba is delivered in a 'Kingsford' shaped package. No matter where we put it, there's always gonna be noisy objectors, some people who live in Dyce still complain about airport noise despite the runway being there long before they were, but the reality is.....life will go on. Let's get over the shock, sadness and sentiment. And support what's right for our club.
  8. This would have been so much funnier if it had been Connor Salmon
  9. I know I've said it before, but I really believe Reynold's assets would be better utilised in a left back position, with the emphasis very much on defending. We carry enough attacking threat from all other areas of the park, and I think Considine could play comfortably with O'Connor at centre back. So let's get the defenders defending, and give the (many) flare players in the team a solid platform to attack from. Rockets criticism after yesterday's performance is over the top in my opinion, but it's not without foundation. "Strikers win you games, but defenders win you titles". (Alex Ferguson?)
  10. I'm happy to agree to disagree then, but I hope to fuck I'm right - I don't want to see that car crash.
  11. What I'd say to that is, whilst I agree with parts of your post, that McInnes isn't a prick. It's his job to get 3 points, and as usual he delivered. I also want to see more of Wright but I think we've got to trust the people who're working with him every day. We've got a squad that's been put together over the past month and they've managed to win all 4 of their domestic encounters thus far. I agree the performances are far from perfect, but I think we've got potential to do really well this season - my only criticism would be we're maybe one good defender short. Dundee will do ok, they've got a decent side and if you put May or O'halleron in their team it would be them sitting on 9 points, not us. I'm in the 'grateful for what we've got' camp, and I'd happily take 'winning ugly' every week.
  12. To quote Steve Cram (from memory only....) "I expect Semanya to go hard very soon"
  13. Must fancy plying his trade out westhill way.... Welcome on board (who the fuck is.....?) Stevie May
  14. I've become quite picky in my old age..... ......so it's just a 'maybe' from me.
  15. Exactly. Hamilton were our bogey team last season and we've just beaten them home and away. Give the team time to find their feet ffs!
  16. Just over an hour until The rangers 250th Anniversary. They haven't won against the Famous Aberdeen at ibrox for 250 days
  17. Can I just be clear, none of my comments were aimed at you - just the general negativity around the forum.
  18. Of course, but in my opinion there's been too much negativity considering what's happened over the summer, so instead of criticising individual players who've barely had a chance to impress yet, I'll criticise the greetin' faced cunts who're not happy unless they've got something to moan about.
  19. BBC saying it was an entertaining contest. Really impressed with our support as usual, and I've got to say pleasantly surprised by our start to the season. Time for everyone to get on board and back ALL the players, and the choices the manager makes. Fingers crossed for a home draw.
  20. Did I hear Richard Gordon correctly there, 800 Hamilton fans, 1700 dandies?

Different format but same outcome, winner takes it all.
  22. McLean managed to put it right over the Merkland stand roof from 6 yards, that's pretty special!
  23. Kari made several mistakes, none of which led to a goal fortunately, but I'm still confident he'll become a good reliable defender for us. He's proved himself at international level and he's streets ahead of Ash Taylor imo opinion. I'm not understanding the McLean criticism, ok he's not at his best but there's no lack of effort, and I'm sure he'll come good again. Same could be said for Reynolds, we should afford him some time to find his form again - surely he's earned that? And there's definitely a player in Nicky Maynard, I hope the fans can give him time to find his feet. There were spells in the first half where we looked great going forward, a couple of breathtaking moments from Wright and Christie, and although things didn't always come off there's loads to be positive about. Considering the overhaul the squad's had I'm impressed we're still able to perform like that, pick up the points and keep a clean sheet. And look at the players who DIDN'T start yesterday.....good times ahead I think peeps, keep the faith.
