  1. I always remember "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves..." being played when Livingston came to visit!
  2. Get some decent gear in the club shop. One look at the Bayern's club shop items and I was embarrassed by the state of some of our stuff in comparison. I know that Bayern is a global brand in footballing terms, but they had some decent kit that I don't think would be too difficult for AFC to follow. Retro club strips, the 1983 tops, che-miller, 'gothenburg' t-shirts, adi-originals gear. All clothing that Aberdeen FC has had no part in nor has capitalised on whatsoever. Clicking on the 'designer' section on the afc clubshop and you can't help but cringe.
  3. Still in Munich, and certainy glad I was amongst the fans who cheered our goal, applauded the players for their efforts and even appreciated the home support. Of course we were all disappointed, but sitting there with a sour pus and in a foul mood is not what I would want to do. There was certainly no celebrating defeat as you put it, more celebrating the achievements of getting this far in the first place! Anyway, back to the beer haus as Ive had enough of this dodgy key böärd! STÄND FREE
  4. Who the fuck is Amy MacDonald? Anyway, he could be fucking Trevor MacDonald for all I care.
  5. You see, we should be investing. But we won't. Apparently money raised from the Anderson transfer/ Clark transfer / UEFA Cup and wages from departed players has been ringfenced for player contracts and investment into the youth setup according to the club. However, most players have decided to tell the club to stick their contracts up their arses. Which leaves the question of where the money has gone? We were told that it would not go towards to servicing the debt. It hasn't gone towards new contracts (unless JC and Zander are on the largest contracts in the SPL), and it hasn't been invested in the youth setup. The club are taking us for fucking mugs here while we continue to pay our money and back them across Europe. Sorry for the OT rant by the way. On topic I'd like to see Anderson back but I would doubt it would ever happen.
  6. I'd agree here. An environment like that would toughen him up slightly and hopefully take him down a peg or two. Thinks he's a Billy Bigtime but he's only scored one SPL goal.
  7. That was a nasty, nasty challenge and he could have probably walked for it. Referee was in clear view and didn't even deem it worthy of a free kick, never mind a card of any sort. We were bullied out of the game today.
  8. Walker: Good to see a confident young lad, not afraid to walk straight into a team and take set pieces. Can pass well at times and could be a contender for the fastest player at Pittodrie. Needs to calm down a bit as he can panic at times. Needs more SPL experience to judge. Maguire: Not strong enough. Technically good, with sleek passing at times. Good crosses when he gets in position, which is not nearly enough. Men against boys today and it showed. Foster: Speed is not enough anymore. Afraid to go down the wings into crossing position, disappears from the game too often. Can't round an opposing player.
  9. I think it will be the last straw for many judging by the volume of people who left after that 4th goal. Its been a long time since I've seen Aberdeen fans streaming towards the exits with 20 minutes to go. I've got admiration for those who stayed, but I also think they need mental help as watching Utd take us apart was unbearable for me. Anyway, can't be fucked with it and hope to get through work tomorrow without even talking about football.
  10. ET has been 'terminally ill' for years FFS. I hope his final memories are of a bitter cup defeat and realisation that he'd pissed away his kids inheritance on shite like Dundee Utd.
  11. I was one of many who left after the fourth went in and then gunned it up the road. Fucked off with AFC right now.
  12. You're right: we should leave it to the clubs to field ineligible players and cause general fixture chaos. The SFA currently tracks players who are ineligible to play due to accumulation of yellow cards and other suspensions, I guess it is far to much to track these 'cup tied' players too. I'll get on that spreadsheet right away...
  13. Get a grip? You ever heard of computers? Or spreadsheets? Its not fucking rocket science mate. At the moment we are in a state where a team can field an uneligible player, and the only time this is flagged up is when another team gets knocked out and complains about it. Hypothetical situation, but say Aberdeen get all the way to the final and win the cup but have fielded an 'illegal' player. Do we replay all the matches? Or would Aberdeen forfeit the cup? Either way it would be a complete clusterfuck, yet could all be avoided if someone with half the computer skills of your good self kept a simple spreadsheet/database.
  14. The team line ups should be scrutinised before the match by the referee/SFA. Why else is there a requirement to name the team before play starts? To put up funcy graphics on the TV? Or to give the stadium announcer a chance to learn to pronounce Heart of Midlithuainia's newest loan player? This situation has shown just how exposed the game is to incompetence like this. Lessons can be learned here? But will they? This has happened before and will happen again, just don't expect the SFA to do anything to avoid it in future.
  15. I thought you were going to say....Nivea?
  16. I heard a rumour this afternoon that the current sponsorship deal with Apex will not be renewed next season, leading the way for a new sponsor. Apparently another service company is interested in the role and perhaps also IrnBru! (I'm sure the blue and orange would go down a treat with the manager...and fans). As far as I'm concerned then as long as the money comes in, then what does it matter who the sponsor is although I'd probably be wary of buying an Aberdeen top with "BJ Services" written across the front of it. Who would you like (or not) to succeed Apex as next years sponsor?
  17. Got the afternoon off just so I could travel down to this match. It better be on!
  18. Dnipro £21 Lokomotiv £21 Copenhagen £21 Bayern £28 Inverness CT £10.50 Falkirk £7.50 Dundee Utd £10 Season Ticket £270 Dons Top £40 Umbrella £6 Red TV £35 Total: £470 There's a lot to be said for the amount spent just following the club which doesn't go directly to AFC. Pies/ coffee at each game plus a programme then add on another £100 over the season. Estimated Dnipro at just under £900, Madrid at £600 and Munich will probably come to the same. All in could be looking at roughly £2.5k-£3k and that is not including travel on matchdays nor away games or even beer tokens! We're also remaining in all competitions!
  19. Fuck. Another one slips through the net. Still waiting for the first scorer!
  20. Our home tactics are better than our away tactics?
  21. Similar to the fat fucking mongoloid that I was near in the toilet queue at the Copenhagen game at HT. "That's the last straw, I've had it. Jimmy must go!" he shouted. Bet you felt a right tit you fat gonk, eh?
