  1. Sport on BBC news claiming that we've asked for the game to be re-scheduled but the request has been denied. Didn't say if it was the SPL or Motherwell. Anyone hear anything else about this?
  2. I was out in the pubs beforehand with my mate who is a Killie fan who were in the away end with some of his mates who had made the trip from Kilmarnock. All were good lads, and were the bunch who wore sombreros and wife-beaters at the baltic boxing day fixture last year! Anyway, my mate said that it was Killie fans further behind them who were complaining to the police and stewards that they couldn't see the game due to their own fans standing in front of them! I think some things were probably said and the police had their cards marked for the rest of the game. The guys decided to move to an empty part of the section (spoilt for choice!) but the police continued to insist that they sat down - even when there was no-one around them! A few were thrown out for being drunk but my mate informs me that they managed to find their way into the RDS lower deck. Sad that these away fans were treated like this, and I doubt very much we'd see the same treatment to the thousands of OF fans who stand during matches! They were an easy target really. (Not that I think standing is a problem, but highlights the double standards of Grampian plod.)
  3. No FJ you've got that all arse about tit. I'm suggesting we phone ourselves up and tell us to go and fuck ourselves.... oops
  4. From what I gather that happened with Rangers, the SPL agreed that they were happy if both clubs were happy. Placing the decision making with the opposition club i.e. Gretna. This way, they can be a governing body that doesn't actually make any decisions. This precedent was set well before the Rangers game I believe, as we tried the same against Motherwell a few seasons back but Motherwell rejected our request and not the SPL.
  5. Can't blame the club this time as tickets have been on sale for ages. I'm sure some will though.
  6. I'd say do it but guaranteed that the SPL would be awkward about it. I'd imagine it would go along the lines of: SPL: "acceptable as long as both clubs agree to it" There would probably be a huge amount of pressure put on Motherwell by the SPL and both sides of the OF to deny this request. So in a roundabout way, they'd tell us to poke it.
  7. I have no doubt that this will not go ahead. Development? In Aberdeen you say? New roads? Infrastructure? Leisure? Get out! Get out now! This is a local city, for local people. We'll have no trouble here!
  8. I think I remember something that JC said about Kurrant having an attitude problem. Well that's the only raisin I can think for it.
  9. I heard this result on the radio as I got a lift home from the airport from our European trip. It gave me a warm fuzzy feeling inside and I gave out a deep belly laugh.
  10. Alright peeps, glad to hear that most got home okay but still very disappointed to hear some of the horrifying treatment of fans and visitors to their city...it was good to meet some familiar names on here too and faces from Dnipro... I must admit, our experience of Madrid was a very positive one...we got into the ground before the trouble kicked off and didn't meet one Spanish person who gave us any trouble at all. Lot of Spanish lads (and ladies ) who were very friendly indeed. Only one lass who tried to pickpocket me, but I knew what was going on and since I had my wallet in my front pocket I got a free arse-grab out of it. Madrid is a fantastic city and I would have no hesitation of returning athough I'd be more careful next time. Great laugh, great trip and I just hope we don't have to wait 5 years to do it all over again...
  11. Can we have a zero tolerance policy towards opinions? Seems to work wonders on other forums I've heard.
  12. IMO there is a fine line between taking 'a dive' and going down in the box. Its a very fine line, but I think it exists. I think that contact was made and that the keeper actually 'fouled' Jeffery. Now, while he shouldn't have to fall to the ground to be awarded a penalty I have no doubt in my mind that had he remained on his feet that it would never have been given. I am disappointed that he didn't remain on his feet only because I think he could have easily finished the goal himself, but I would have been even more disappointed if no contact had been made and he 'simulated' a trip to win a penalty. He didn't do that. I'm sure Jimmy will have had a quiet word with Jeffery to tell him the differences between what is and whats not acceptable in Scottish Football. Just a cultural difference IMO, and not in the same league as the Mikalounis (sp?) incident.
  13. The flare was set off right in front of me, I didn't have a problem with it and the guy certainly did not attempt to throw it at all. Funnily enough, the police didn't try to arrest him even though they could clearly see who it was. Did we get fined from the Berlin game? If not then I'd imagine that the fan in question was unaware that there is such a penalty for away ties in dodgy former USSR countries and wouldn't have done it if it meant that he'd likely be banned or that his club would receive a fine.
  14. What better way of signing a player though, than taking him on trial? The cost is minimal, you get to see the player in your team, playing your (tombola) tactics and if they turn out to be pish then give them the dunt - not much harm done. Granted, we haven't had the greatest success with our trialists, but it can be a simple way of unearthing a wee gem.
  15. Fair enough, if someone posts a rumour that turns out to be false, then they should expect a bit of a ribbing. But the abuse is OTT. We're all dandies after all. (Besides theres nae swear filter here, which is fucking ace!)
  16. Good news, with Brewsters departure we sure need something to fill that void - that is, if our other strikers are unable to do it. Got to remember though, he's just a young lad so perhaps not a solution for the 1st team. Good on JC, I say and hope the lad does well. Phew, this place is a breath of fresh air - its panic stations everywhere else!
  17. If panic, hysteria, rumour and general paranoia is your thing then there is always a certain other AFC forum!
  18. I reckon I could have been in goals and still kept a clean sheet such was the lack of action at the Dons end.
  19. Soon to be followed by the TIMEX and NCR songs.... Oh, theres no jobs in Dundee, no jobs in Dunnndddeeee; Oh, theres no jobs in Dundee!
  20. "Who said we wouldn't get a 3-way hump in Egypt?"
  21. Tell your mate to fuck off........Aluminium is an element! D'Oh!
