  1. If anyone cares I've answered my own question, with inflation that would be £1.3m today. I know it means fuck all and its changed times but still....
  2. A £650,000 signing from PSV 21 years ago, wonder what that'd work out as today... And 14 games into the season and only 9 goals conceded..... if only. You're right, it hasn't cheered me up
  3. No matter how bad it is or gets we have to be looking to get a decent win by a few goals. Surely to fuck
  4. Aye its shite but its still our team. Wanted McGhee out for a while but doesn't mean we stop supporting them. Like everyone is saying, lets hope things get turned around now....
  5. Odds of being relegated after first two games? Or odds of being relegated at start of season?
  6. The odds that when McGhee is sneaked out of Pittodrie in the back of a car they find Steve Paterson's dead remains when they open the boot?
  7. Fuck yeah, I have a meal/event at Pittodrie on Friday, get him in asap. He's nae doing much at Huntly anyway
  8. Please no extra time. Please please spare us from the agony We were good up until the equaliser then we returned to the first half shit, why?
  9. Apparently it was McGhee that shouted for Hartley to take the pen. Whether it was because he knew it was credited as an og or because he didn't want to risk Vernon missing with Hartley on form I dont know
  10. Vernon definatly thought it was his, hence why he was going to take the pen thinking he was on a hat trick. Personally I think it should be given to Vernon, theres no harm in giving credit to the attacking player in these situations, dont really see the difference between a slight deflection and a bigger one because who is to say if the keeper would or wouldn't have saved it otherwise. Can Vernon try and claim it or is it finalised?
  11. It was a bit more than a tedious link, I think it was the EE that said they are good friends and that Calderwood is one of the few people from Duncs football career that he keeps in touch with.
  12. It seemed far fetched until you think about McGhees "Heads for Howard and Tails for Clangers" selection policy, then you think he's probably after a keeper and Boruc seems to be one of those so....
  13. I always forget theres a seperate gossip column on the BBC for Scotland, I read the other one. Dunno what to make of it, I've had enough of McGhee so wouldn't complain if it was accurate but it is the Record so......
  14. Got a text saying McGhee has next two games to save him from being sacked.... Dunno the source and I dont think its been mentioned on another thread on here. Anyone else heard this?? Was it in any of the papers?
  15. Maybe the Hearts fans have paid us a visit...... .... oh, you said 28. I'm stumped again
  16. That will always be the case, growing up in early 90's I knew many Aberdeen and Rangers fans but only 1 Celtic fan in pretty much the whole school (when they weren't even finishing 2nd) and I knew 1 Chelsea fan, now look at the kids, its all Chelsea and Celtic coz they are winning now. You just got to hope they see sense when they are old enough to fully understand and dont want to associate themselves with tinky Glasgow clubs. Re the original point - Its hard to care when the faults with the squad seem obvious and easily fixed. I think 10,000 people since the Hamilton game have been saying swap Pawlett and Maguire but it didn't happen. We were good against Hamilton, even though it was penalties we looked like we'd score, same at the start of the Killie game, apart from that and a spell vs Rangers we have been embarrassingly poor
  17. I was thinking exactly the same, I've had it with McGhee. Ok, all our best players are injured but 7-8 strikers, no full backs, players outta position, stupis fucking interviews, falling out with players and not playing them...... GTF
  18. Was gonna question why Howard was back in......
  19. I think it could be a sped up version of Buckaroo where the loser downs a shot of Martini to help get suitably pissed...... However I could be wrong
  20. If he is that desperate then he can do a Dempsey, play as an amateur until Jan and prove he worth a contract. After Folly and Hartley who do we have, incase of injury/suspension? Fyvie is out so is it just Young with any experience? I agree if its gonna cost us a lot then we shouldnt consider it but if he really is that desperate to play for us then its worth looking into, is he is just desperate for any team and a pay check then he can fuck off
  21. Sursprised Huntly sacked their manager, took in lot of players in and he aint been in the job for that long. Their results have been piss poor though and provided me with a few lol moments already this season. Wouldn't grudge Pele doing well but wouldn't mind if Huntly continued their shitness
  22. Out of context - McGhee is a twat In context - Makes sense But now the national papers who get their stories from the EE will make it look bad and try to bring us down
  23. Aye, Magennis was up on his own for about an hour or so. Then Vernon replaced him
  24. Was it on the Friday sports show thingy (whatever is on stv on Friday nights) that McGhee was defending this formation and saying the start to the season proves he was right? But as you point out it's the right players that make it work not the formation itself. My biggest gripe about McGhee with this formation this season is that at times he himself can see it isn't working (you know thing coz he changes it about) but he doesn't swap Maguire and Pawlett to put Pawlett out wide and Maguire in the middle..... He changes Maguire and Mackie on the wings when the reason its not working is coz they're not wingers, changing which wing they are on wont help. If he was so determined to keep the formation for today then he needs less strikers and more players that can play the attacking midfield role, because with only one up front he uses strikers out wide coz he has so many that'd be on the bench otherwise. Personally I think the best replacement for Aluko (in his role) would have been Foster from who was available. Although Megginson looked a vast improvement on the left than Mackie (but isn't he technically a striker as well?)
  25. Aye, same team as Hamilton but Mackie in for Aluko. I'm not one of these Mackie haters that will have a go at him for no reason but he looked gash today. One thing he has is that he puts himself about but today he looked like he didn't want to be there, to be honest it looked like he was in a sulk coz he was asked to play on the left where we were missing Aluko. Other than that we were so so..... just didn't have any urgency about us. Started well although when Maguire? missed the rebound early on it looked like we'd rue that chance. Howard looks shaky at times, few good saves. Prefer Langfield to be in but how can you drop a goalie that hadn't conceded? Ifil deserved his MOTM (for us) and Folly looked good too. Connor Salmon was causing a lot of problems, best player on the park, was shitting it everytime the ball came to him.
