  1. If a run in Europe can wipe out a quarter of our debt just like that, surely the board must see the Europa League as BY FAR the quickest way of clearing that friggin financial noose that's been hanging over our heads since the RDS was built. Four seasons in Europe, and we're debt-free!
  2. Metallica - Of Wolf And Man
  3. Interesting to see what comes of the transfer window. Are there any Hearts or United players we should consider moving in for?
  4. Ridiculous decision ... only made believable by the fact that it is the SPL who is making the decisions. So, since Aberdeen have no incidents of games being called off due to failure of undersoil heating, if we're drastically short on key players through injury, can we just nae turn on the heating one Friday night? (a) we don't have to pay the lecky bill for running our undersoil heating overnight (b) we'll get away with it cos we've never had problems before © we'll be better off cos our injured players will have a chance to recover
  5. Surprised there's no place for the likes of Nicholas or McDougall
  6. We're both wrong. Gillies in the league cup against Livi! I'm sure there was something significant about Dow's goal against Rangers in the cup though. Was it our first from open play or something?
  7. My philosophy too! If the Dons lose, you win. If the Dons win, you don't give a fuck about the lost bet cos the Dons have just won!!! It's a win-win situation, really!
  8. Thats cos he signed a new contract. He "did a Doddsy" or "did a Winters" or "did a Sheerin" whereby he had a blinder of a season when his contract was up for renewal. Then, when he signed his new contract, he sat back and did fuckall. But for that one season, he was immense! Hey, he scored our first goal of the season that year ... a strike against Rangers like a quarter into the new season!
  9. Thank fuck for that. I watched Perth Glory on the tele a few weeks ago. I think they played Adelaide, but I could be wrong. Dadi scored the only goal of the game. Same old tricks. Went down like a ton of bricks in the box when there was no contact. Up stepped Eugene and netted from the spot. That was about 15 minutes into the game or so. For the remaining 75 minutes, he just stood on the half way line doing absolutely fuck all. Somehow he got the "Man Of The Match" award, which really goes to show just how shit the football in Aussie is.
  10. Dear Little Boy, Indeed you have been a good little boy. So here, as per your request, is your blank poster Spreading Christmas joy to another happy little boy, Satan Santa
  11. Andy Dow. When I saw him lined up on the EE back page along with Derek Whyte and Craig Hignett I thought, why the fuck are we buying this guy who struggles to cut it at Hibs? Two years later and he was our player of the year by a country mile!
  12. Soft Cell - Tainted Love
  13. Cheers mate. To be honest, it's the same banner as last christmas. Just couldnae be erse finding any more snowy photos of pittodrie or the dons
  14. You must admit, JC's coat was on a shoogley peg back then.
  15. Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays
  16. Must admit there's been some crackin matches over the past decade. A few that spring to mind: Copenhagen at Pittodrie Bayern at Pittodrie Both legs of the Hertha tie 3-2 win over the Huns about 3 years ago 3-2 win over the Tims at Pittodrie with Hignett running the show and Mark Perry scoring a screamer from 188 yards out
  17. Still one match left!
  18. I clean forgot he was on our books!
  19. A decade of the SPL, eh? Still mind Jess' goal vs Dundee ... the FIRST EVER goal in the Scottish Premier League.
  20. Not really, cos Lovell still scored ... albeit once less than Miller.
  21. I couldn't believe we didn't sign Kavanagh. He was Stoke City's best player at the time, and this when they were in the then 1st division (what is now the Championship). Kavanagh basically put out a "come and get me" plea to the Dons. And we go and unveil Pepper as our new midfield general!
  22. What's wrong with email? They'd have this shite sorted out by the time the postie has been to pick up the mail.
  23. Haha. Never EVER in the history of DonsTalk have I seen a thread of posts where every single person is united in their anger and sheer hatred for the subject. Alex Miller is the biggest fuckin joke to ever have anything to do with Aberdeen Football Club. Seeing him smirk with the Scotland squad just days after the Dons got tanked is the lasting image I have of that utter disgrace of a man. It's hard to believe that one man can do so much damage to a football club in the space of just one year. Stewart Milne has only gone by the advise of the footballing brains at Pittodrie when he handed out cash to get players. Roy Aitken was in his first managerial job and, to be fair, didn't do too badly until his final season (hey, he is still the last Aberdeen manager to win a cup). Alex Miller, however, was brought in as a manager who was technically sound and had HEAPS of experience in football management. Jimmy Calderwood took a weaker squad and made them into a top-six team within one year. Alex Miller took a cup-winning team, got rid of their three most prolific goal threats (Shearer, Windass and Dodds) and made the Dons a group of spineless, gutless losers with a defensive, losing mentality that took almost a decade to erase from the club's veins. Prick of the highest order.
  24. Finally he keeps his trap shut. Actually, to be fair he's learned his lesson over the past 12 months or so. NOBODY saw the Aluko deal coming!
  25. WTF? How the hell have any Killie fans been inconvenienced? Their only fan leaves his house five minutes before kickoff. Aberdeen fans from north of the Granite City face upwards of four hours travel time to get to Kilmarnock. And it ain't exactly cheap to drive for four hours these days ... nor is the Aberdeen to Glasgow to Kilmarnock train journey very cheap (or very quick) these days either!
