Mackie’s tipped to be Dons goal ace
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
He's injured right now! And he was injured for two-thirds of last season. Pretty sure he was out for the majority of Paterson's last season too! -
Mackie’s tipped to be Dons goal ace
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Aye but there were moments when you could put a safe bet on Doddsy scoring for the Dons. There are times when you could put yer mortgage on Mackie ballooning the ball over the bar from 2 yards out of an open goal! They may be different shades of shite. But where Dodds was a lump of shite sitting on the pavement ... Mackie is what sits at the bottom of a long-drop that's been sitting there for decades. -
'Stuff' That JC Could Do.......
Reekie_Red replied to Superstar Tradesman's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Really? that's it. I'm finished being a Dons fan. I am a Dons fan because it takes my mind of harsh reality knowing that on Saturdays I can sit back and enjoy being a fan of Aberdeen. Now you are telling me that on Saturdays we are United?? WTF? Arab shite [ *] [* by Arab shite, I mean crap from the city of Dundee that wears tango coloured shirts ... just incase ? ? ? gets offended] -
Diamond: fan fury hurting Dons play
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
My thought too! They whinge when the fans fail to turn up. They whinge when the fans turn up and have enough passion to complain about the shite football they're seeing on the park. If the players want to get cheered from the fans for doing fuckall, maybe they should consider playing for Livi. Us Aberdeen fans have standards. It ain't winning the ECWC (despite what all the weejia think). Our standards are we expect to WIN a match after going 2-0 up against a team who haven't won in five attempts. Does he expect the red army to just sit there and accept those sorts of performances? -

True. To be sitting on the bottom of the table and still come to work smiling means either one of two things: (1) You don't give a shit about your job or the club you play for, or (2) You have enough confidence in your teammates and manager to know that this is only a blip that will be rectified very soon. It was very interesting reading a number of articles at the time that we were bottom of the league that all said the squad were in jovial mood and were loving their training sessions. Imagine this squad when they're sitting in 3rd place?!

As camp as the red cross?

Tonight, Matthew, I will be going to see Irish comedian Jimeoin. He's friggin hilarious! Saw him on the Crunchie Comedy Gala here in NZ on the tele about four months ago and he was streets ahead of everyone else on the gala (not hard when it's hosted by Paul Tomkinson [thon crap chap who used to host the Big Breakfast]).

The other side of that coin is Hibs have only beaten us twice at Fester Road since 2006!

Nice to find out from the horse's mouth what figure the debt is actually sitting at. Speculative reports I've seen over the past 24 months have pushed it as far up at £12million. If it's actually down to £6.5million, then this is fantastic. That's, what, four years we've taken to bring it down by about £5million?! That's awesome. No doubt the sale of Anderson and the matches in the UEFA Cup will have helped bite off a huge chunk of the debt. With the amount of interest we're paying in retrospect to the lower debt, I reckon we could break even by 2012. Maybe even 2011 if we got back into Europe between now and then.

I for one would love to see Deano back. He was a class act, and I reckon if he's half the player now that he was back then, it'll boost attendances somewhat! I just hope he's still got the banana boots, cos they were brilliant!

EE: JC- Red Army can help net new signings

I thought he was just not match-fit. -
EE: Derek out for new Aberdeen contract
Reekie_Red replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
And he knows it. Hence why he's bringing out all the excuses to try to win a new contract. He certainly can't bring out the "I've been playing well" card, cos that's NEVER the case with Derek "Fuck Sake" Young. -

If you're talking about posts that wind you up, then there's probably a dozen in the past three days alone that do that. I'm not in the business of making sure that every single person's feelings are catered for. This is a discussion forum. A debating chamber. Heated conversations happen all the time, otherwise nobody would come back. I am, however, still waiting for you to find any posts with Muslim/Arab content -

TBH the abuse gingers get in a lifetime borders on racism. It's un-PC to wind anyone up about their skin colour or their religion. So why is it seemingly okay to wind people up about their hair colour? Being honest again, I think Jager's probably heard all the ginger jokes you can fire at him. All it does, however, is make you look like a buffoon. -

When the camera is panning around for the first three-quarters of that clip at Porkheid, there's a lad on the right just behind said camera with a yellow t-shirt. Anybody ken who this is? It looks right like my auld workmate fae Edinburgh. Originally fae Port Gordon, but now living in Edinburgh about a stone's throw fae Swynecastle. Can anyone confirm who he is? -
Ex-Aberdeen and Scotland U18 midfielder Russell Duncan wasn't even the best player in his group of mates. I used to see him and his mates having a kick-around in Stoney when he was a kid, and two of his mates in particular were VERY impressive. Ran circles around Duncan. Yet Duncan is the one who went on to be a pro footballer, and the other two ... well, I think they work office jobs.

Credit where credit is due. Milne is not a chairman with a footballing brain. He's a chairman with a construction brain who just so happens to run a football club. The fact that he fucked up so many times with his managerial selections tells you heaps about his footballing knowledge. But then that's why he has hired two Directors Of Football in his time ... namely Willie Miller and Keith Birkenshaw. Surely it should be the job of the DoF to advise the chairman of all footballing matters that concern the board. In my view, BOTH of these DoFs have failed enormously. Milne has trusted these two men (albeit about a decade apart from each other) to look after the footballing side from a directive point of view. Both these men have fucked up. He gave Birkenshaw the boot for doing sweet fuck all. Now I think he should really be turning the screw on Willie Miller because it is Willie who is the Director of footballing matters, not Stewart Milne.

It's not always all about the money, scotfree! Of all the clubs he could play for, why do you think he is currently with Hull City? For money? No! For the love of the club? Yes! It's no secret that Deano loved his time with us. He was a solid fans' favourite at a time when we also had the likes of Duncan Shearer, Billy Dodds, Eoin Jess and Scott Booth on our books. He's had some bumper payday deals with some half-decent English sides, and has been to Wembley a few times too on cup-final duty. Ever thought he might want to come back to Pittodrie to rekindle his relationship he had with the Red Army?
-
Harper, Windass, Jess, Booth, Shearer and McDougall in the same team? I'd go for 30 goals per MONTH with those players together!!
-
If Aberdeen can't afford to pay Jimmy Nicholl out of his current contract, then Dundee sure as hell cannot afford to buy him either!
-
WTF? I was ready to rip Smith a new arsehole in response to that. But then I read beyond the headline. Where the fuck does he blame anyone? He simply states the fuckin obvious about how our home form needs to improve, and the Pittodrie fans cannot expect to put up with what they've seen so far. I'm sorry Jamie. I will not rip you a new arsehole today. I shall save my ammunition for the wank who wrote that headline!
