  1. Is that why Rangers FC was asked to apologise to the City of Manchester for the behaviour of its fans? Funnily enough, Rangers FC found a way of getting away with that one too, just like the get away with bypassing questions about the songs their fans sing too. Tell him that the Aberdeen fans were jumped and the Madrid police did fuckall to stop the carnage. It's funny how every week a different team from England or Europe arrives in Manchester, along with thousands and thousands of fans. Yet the only time there's trouble is when Rangers come to town. And yet Madrid saw blood when two completely different teams from different countries arrived to play football. Something tells me Aberdeen and Bolton had nothing to do with the violence in Madrid
  2. Killie should have the book thrown at them for this. I can understand if the weather has resulted in making roads to the stadium hazardous to travel on, as that's outwith the control of the football club. But every SPL club has undersoil heating. The fact that a few neighbours complain about the noise whenever it's used should perhaps say to Killie FC that they need to invest in a different form of power for the undersoil heating, as clearly a petrol/diesel generator is not working for them. It's all very well to claim "yes we have undersoil heating", but if you're too afraid to use it, you might as well not have it. Same goes for Motherwell. These two clubs should be fined for not utilising the systems that have been a prerequisite of the SPL to ensure matches have the strongest possibility of NOT being postponed. Killie should be fined, with the fees heading towards Pittodrie.
  3. Looks like you might be right ... ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE Robert Elstone Appointed 05.08.08
  4. A 0-0 draw in the League Cup against Celtic at Pittodrie in February 1983. Dinnae really remember much about it. My dad and brother went to the match and I tagged along. Didnae hae a clue about football at the time. It's still debatable if I know much these days either!
  5. Out of interest, I noted that Keith Wyness is pullin out all the same old lines at Everton as he did at Pittodrie. Not only is he wanting to move Everton FC to some soulless ground on the outskirts of Nowheresville, but I spotted Liverpool and Everton fans in the same section at Goodison a few weeks ago. Couldnae believe he's still harkin on with the same old record that he spun here
  6. See that fucks me off. Anderson was a Don for 11 years. Hart for 9 years. Clark 10-and-a-half. How long is "a few years" before these players decide it's time for a look at what the other side of the fence looks like? I have no qualms about either player moving and, indeed, am not bothered about Nicholson moving either. It's the nature of the game. I would've loved to see all four (well, nae really fussed about Clark) staying at Aberdeen, but players have ambitions. Most want to play in England in as big a league as possible.
  7. I've nae seen head nor tail of that useless cunt since we gave him pelters in the pub before a game a few years ago down at Motherwell. "who's that sitting at Pittodrie? Who's that sittin o'er there? Looks like Alan Duncan tae me, wi Keith Wyness on his knee. Looks like Claire won't be gettin it onay mare!" Never saw him again after that song.
  8. Didn't Celtic grab him?
  9. No need to find adequate replacements really. Once a youngster shows enough talent and ambition to play at the top of his game, JC releases them to the other SPL clubs for diddly-squat (see Andrew Bagshaw and Ryan Strachan).
  10. Still cannae forget a match between the Dons and Killie about three seasons ago. Clark had the ball on the half way line, we were losing 1-0 with only minutes to go. He stops, looks up, sees his teammates piling upfield, realises nobody is near him, and promptly boots the ball directly into the main stand. Nae denying he was a good squad player for us. But don't be disillusioned here. He was nothing more than a half-decent squad player. Sure he had some moments that were good. But how often did they come up?
  11. How many seasons since 1985 have we been in Europe? Compare that to Rangers time in Europe since 1985. For a team that have been consistently in there for the past three decades, it's quite surprising that they are still getting knocked out before Christmas every year bar last year. You'd think they'd figured it out by now.
  12. Pitch looks alright to me some 48 hours onward. Doesn't look like it took too much of a beating. Judging by the stroll in the park that Scotland had against Canada, I don't think there was really any justification for the park to be messed up in any way. Excellent. Tidy sum of money coming the way of AFC for doing jackshit.
  13. Maybe if you spent more time supporting your team than shouting abuse at Kafflick teams and wrecking the city of Manchester, you might have won more in Europe. In the past 35 years, you've been in Europe every season bar three. And yet you've failed to win anything. That's a pretty shit statistic, man! Even Aberdeen have a better record than that. What a shameful statistic to carry with you. Nevermind, at least you're the people.
  14. Pretty sure Drew Peacock and Drewsome are different people altogether. For a start, our Canadian friend's last name ain't Peacock. And he regularly posts on here ... just nae lately cos of family comittments and all that stuff. Here's some auld eens that I've nae seen or heard of for about 6 years ... Ebbe's Holdall Garden Shears Andy Dow's Left Peg I'd presume they changed their monikers after the respective departures of their idols. But what did they change to, and where are they now?
  15. If there's been any damage to the pitch, then yes this money will go back into repairing it. If there's been minimal damage to the pitch, then we get to keep the money. Win win for the Dons, really
  16. I know. When will Rangers fans realise that this is just a game and that, no matter how hard you try to be a REAL football club, you'll never be like Aberdeen?
  17. Always seems to be a sell-out for Scottish rugby matches at Pittodrie. Gets a bigger crowd than when the Old Worm arrives up north
  18. At least we're gettin a nice wee sum fae the SRU for hosting matches at Pittodrie. Interesting to see that Pittodrie appears to have become Scotland's base when they're playing a non-Murrayfield home match. It's good for retaining a bit of faith with the north-east rugby fans. Cos lets face it, rugby's a bit of a dying sport up in the north-east
  19. Yeah, it does say he's modified a new top to "look like" the Gothenburg top. But 80-odd quid so far? Bit steep
  20. Unfortunately for Darren Mackie, it's been ten years of mediocrity. Whilst the last few testemonials I remember have been for real legends like Russell Anderson, Jim Leighton and Brian Irvine, Mackie has never come near legendary status. He's just been here for ten years ... that's all.
  21. He's injured right now! And he was injured for two-thirds of last season. Pretty sure he was out for the majority of Paterson's last season too!
  22. Aye but there were moments when you could put a safe bet on Doddsy scoring for the Dons. There are times when you could put yer mortgage on Mackie ballooning the ball over the bar from 2 yards out of an open goal! They may be different shades of shite. But where Dodds was a lump of shite sitting on the pavement ... Mackie is what sits at the bottom of a long-drop that's been sitting there for decades.
  23. Really? that's it. I'm finished being a Dons fan. I am a Dons fan because it takes my mind of harsh reality knowing that on Saturdays I can sit back and enjoy being a fan of Aberdeen. Now you are telling me that on Saturdays we are United?? WTF? Arab shite [ *] [* by Arab shite, I mean crap from the city of Dundee that wears tango coloured shirts ... just incase ? ? ? gets offended]
  24. My thought too! They whinge when the fans fail to turn up. They whinge when the fans turn up and have enough passion to complain about the shite football they're seeing on the park. If the players want to get cheered from the fans for doing fuckall, maybe they should consider playing for Livi. Us Aberdeen fans have standards. It ain't winning the ECWC (despite what all the weejia think). Our standards are we expect to WIN a match after going 2-0 up against a team who haven't won in five attempts. Does he expect the red army to just sit there and accept those sorts of performances?
