Fuckin right! Get the venom back intae this fixture. Thank fuck Keith Wyness' plan to have Rangers and Aberdeen fans sitting next to each other at Pittodrie fell on deaf ears. I still mind a game about a decade ago where Eoin Jess and (I think) Amoruso got booked at the centre-circle just before kickoff by the ref ... a tactic by the ref to get the two then-captains to calm everything down. I miss the venom. In an attempt at rekindling it, here's some photos to get the blood boiling: (Fucktard of the highest order) (He puts the HATE in Hateley) (hit him fuckin harder than that, Darren! His knees are already fucked!!) (... and this fuckin idiot Terry Warlock can fuck off too!) (... because only one career was fucked from that day onwards, Ian!) (shoot both of these pricks for a start!) (OMG! Gazza and Durrant together on a boat?? Where's the fuckin torpedos when you need them?!) Bring on the tabloids quoting me! I care as much for these tabloid scrotums as I do for all the above "people". Bring the venom back!

Are you using IE7? If so, did the magnifier at the bottom right of your IE browser increase itself automatically to 400%?

Can anyone who's here at the moment try jumping into the chat room? I want to see how it runs with a larger number of people using it simultaneously www.thedandies.co.uk/messageboard/chat

JC: Aberdeen will get it right at Fir Park

That'll be another game without Aberdeen goals then -
P&J - Defeat casts doubt on manager’s signings

Mate, see Severin in defence, Clark at left-back, Foster everywhere except goals, Nicholson on the wing ... and Mackie on the park. JC's got a habit of playing players where they don't normally play. -

I'm half in agreement with this article. I say half because, whilst clear wastes of space like Mackie really are still here after nine years ... and STILL punting the ball over the crossbar from point-blank range ... I think we need to be fair on this Dons team. Half of them haven't played together before, whereas ICT are a very settled side with little squad movement over the summer. This was the first full competitive match many of these players have played together. Yes they are all professional footballers (with the exception of Mackie who is not a footballer!!), but it takes a few games for the players to start understanding and learning how each other tends to play and who tends to stray into what areas of the park. Our immense back line of two years ago, for example, included Anderson, Diamond and Hart. That's three players who have come through the ranks of Aberdeen FC. They've played in the same team for years. They have played and trained alongside each other for many many years. Kerr & McDonald met about a month ago! My verdict on the new team will wait until we've played the first month of fixtures. Then I think they will have few excuses. Mackie, however, ran out of excuses years ago. -
Yep, it's definitely a facility I want to make permanent. I think I'm almost convinced that this will be the chatroom that I'll be incorporating into the site. Now I just need to "reel it in" so that it looks like DonsTalk ... and not just a red coloured chatroom.

Alright. Try logging out of chat and then going back in again
-
OK. Just gonna tweak a couple of things on the chatroom

I have a wee treat and a wee favour to ask of anyone who's staying on DT for the game. I'm testing a new live chat facility. If you like, could you try it out by going to www.thedandies.co.uk/messageboard/chat If you would like a shot now, it should be open for business at the above link. Let me know what you think.

Novo still attacked Duff's shin from a 90degree angle. Unless your leg is completely flat on the ground, that sort of tackle is gonna do some damage.
-
I'm not sure that Murray's too concerned about selling to net the 12million. I think he's more concerned about the fact that the club has built up a big squad so that they would not be exhausted due to too many games in all the different competitions. I know Murray is hoping to bring the player-pool down from 26 to 20. Maybe just cutting someone like Gow off the wagebill will effectively save him about a million.

I was putting up the fixtures on the site a few minutes ago, and had a good read of them for the first time. If we are going to run aground at any point throughout this season, it's either gonna be November or January. In November, I reckon we can get a win against St Mirren, but will draw against Hibs away and Killie at home (we NEVER seem to do well against Killie). But matches against Rangers, away to United and at home to Motherwell are gonna be tough as fuck! But look forward a couple of months to January ... We start off with a trip to Hamilton and end with a trip to Falkirk. two tough ties, yes. But inbetween? We've got back-to-back matches against both sides of the Old Firm!!! Our only saving grace is that they're both at Pittodrie and our record against both at home recently isn't too bad
-
I see David Murray has said he must axe up to six players from Rangers' 26-man squad to cover the 12million cost of being knocked out of Europe. He says that a number of the fringe players especially will be cut, as the first team squad will not be under the same sort of strain due to the lack of fixtures. So, who should we be sniffing at? Surely we could get a cut-price deal on the likes of Gow. Surely. Isn't Steven Naismith still on their books? I've admired his style of play for a long long time!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=om0Lv3CGL1o I was having a good browse around YouTube today. I spotted better coverage of the final match from last season. Previously all I could find was cellphone footage. But someone's put up the Setanta highlights since then (see above link). The Novo tackle ... this was absolutely identical to the tackle that Simmie got castrated for in 1988! Only difference is Duff's legs are made of bone, whereas Durrant's were made of friggin matchsticks. Maybe we should start venting our frustrations on Novo in the same way that Simmie was hounded by the huns.

Tommy Wright deal on verge of collapse...or is it?
Reekie_Red replied to Kowalski's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I was gonna let this one pass. But ... Mizer, why do you currently posess a pair of pants that either belong to TopCorner or Jaegerdeen? Is there some sort of horny ménage à trois going on here that you'd like to share amongst us? -
But what I'm gettin at is Mackie is NOT a footballer. He's chosen the wrong sport to become a pro at. Maybe he should be a track runner or something. He's athletic, yes. A footballer? Probably a passable 1st Division striker at best. Certainly not good enough to warrant staying at Scotland's 3rd biggest club for almost a decade!
-
Just every fortnight, aye?!
-
Stephen Wright. What a fuckin arse! That cunt strung us out for weeks and weeks "oh, I'll sign for the Dons again. I'd never sign for anyone else. Why would I?" Then the fucker goes and signs for the huns on the day he is supposed to be signing a new contract with us.

That's the problem. Darren has a habit of popping up for one crucial goal every three years. Somehow, this seems to justify the red army putting up with him! Imagine if he'd put away just 20 or 30% of the chances he's had in his career? He'd be a friggin deity that's not been seen at Pittodrie since Big Shearer himself. But Darren's problem is he is not a striker. I struggle to believe he's a footballer. He's an athlete, yes. But a footballer? No! There is a difference. Mohammed Sylla, for example, was a very very fast athlete. But how many times did you see him on the tele running out of pitch cos he had no fuckin control of the ball? Almost every game I saw him play, he could sprint down the length of the pitch with the ball in no time at all. Ask him to cross the ball when he got to the end of the pitch? The ball would very rarely end up in the box

Mate, the biggest problem we face is Norway has a HUGE tax rate, like around 50% income tax or something like that. The councils pay for everything that the public need, including health, transport, education ... hell, they even pay to build football stadiums with the tax-payers money. The UK could do this, but the UK is full of whingers and NIMBYs who are so used to complaining and complaining until they get their own way. Can you imagine the NIMBYs paying 50+% tax? "So that you ruffyans can have a football stadium?? Not on my watch!" Yes, we have similar people, cultures and revenues. But we've got a comletely different mindframe when it comes to us paying tax. The Brits are hell-bent on taxcuts taxcuts and more taxcuts. And when the government make a tax-cut, it's never enough. That's why Norway's model will never ever work in Scotland.

Stavrum was our last 20+ goalscorer. Before that, I think it was Doddsy. Before that ... Shearer? Okay, that's three strikers in fifteen YEARS that have cut the mustard. I hope to fuck that Wright is all he's cracked up to be. Cos I can't imagine Mackie and Bebo to get the lion's share of those 30 goals. For all his huff and puff, I can still see Mackie scoring no more than 6 goals this season. He'll play in over 40 matches this season, but will score no more than 6 goals ... I'll hedge my bets on that figure. If he scores more, good on him. If not, time to say bubye Darren! You've had ten years to show us what you can do. When are you gonna prove to us that you are the striker you say you are?
-
Okay, I say they can have their £1000 per match. However, this is on the understanding that a committee of video referees gets to watch the match afterwards and, for every mistake the ref makes during that match, the ref loses £100. McCurry would be in debt VERY VERY quickly.

JC/Graham Speirs article from The Times
Reekie_Red replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Players out: Jackie McNamara (Falkirk), Derek Soutar (released), Dave Bus (Go Ahead Eagles), Dan Smith, Richie Byrne (both released) Although I'm a wee bit worried by the lack of inbound players, the above list of outbound brings a wry smile to my face. Glad to see the back of these guys in particular. Now, who's interested in buying Darren Mackie? -
There's been a few. * Singing "Fuck Martin O'Neill, fuck Martin O'Neill" for about ten minutes into my mate's answerphone after the 2-0 win over Celtic at Pittodrie 2001. * Same game, the snowballs. Petrov was a greetin bairn, but the best was when Alan Thompson looked up and did a "bring it on" gesture to Section Y ... to which a ton of snow was "brought on" by the Red Army in his general direction. * Preseason tour of Denmark - applauding Zerouali when he was heading for the team bus following the final game. He got sent off for sticking the Vs up to the ref, so we all stuck the Vs up to him and he cracked up laughing * Almondvale 2002 - Eugene Dadi feels what it's like to have the boot on the other foot when the entire travelling red army sang with venom "who the, who the, who the fuck is Dadi" * 3-2 win over the huns - what a Roy Of The Rovers match that was! We go 2-0 up. They claw it back to 2-2. Then PRicksen gets sent off. Then we go and score the winning goal from an absolutely sublime Jamie Smith strike! That was one of the most perfect games of football I've seen the Dons play in recent years. It had everything in it!!
