    Films

I am planning to go and see Argo on my next jaunt to the cinema! Been on nightshift so this week, I have mostly been watching - The Dark Knight Rises - Enjoyed it. Really good film. American Pie: The Reunion - only stuck it on for a few laughs and I wanted something easy to watch at 3:30am. Did the job. Ali - Really good film I thought. Really good performance from Will Smith and focused on Ali, not only as a boxer but as a husband and a religious man. Would recommend. Terminator - Terminator 2 has to be one of my favourite films but I'd never seen Terminator. I enjoyed it and thought it was a cracking film! The ending where the Terminator has gotten rid of his Schwarznegger covering really shows it's age now but I can imagine it would have been brilliant in 1984!
  2. Joe Hart, Lol. Fucking tipped to be the best goalkeeper in the world by the English. My arse. Absolute sensational goal from Ibra though.
  3. I was looking at tickets. Is there much difference between Grand Circle and Royal Circle? I didn't think there would be but wanted to make sure. I tend to find you get a good view regardless of where you're at at these type of things. Cheers, I'll definitely look to do a open top tour. Sounds like the way to go!
  4. Right well, I booked London today with Sleazy Jet. 14th - 18th o Feb for me and the missus. Both got a few pals doon there so should be good. For visiting/things to do, I am keen to go to the Imperial War Museum. Also wouldn't mind going to the British museum, Natural History Museum or the Science Museum. Anybody been to any of those? I'm sure I read on here before that the War Museum was really good? Worth going to any of the others? Wouldn't mind on going to some of the markets either, what's best? Don't really know much about the London markets so any info would be appreciated! I ken me missus would like to go and see a show or a musical so I was thinking about the Lion King as she's already stated she would love to go and see it (again). But there are other great shows out there, anybody got any other tips for good shows and musicals? Billy Elliot gets rave reviews? I've already got a 2 for 1 offer on the London Eye so plan to use that. Is Big Ben and Buckingham Palace good to see? I know she is quite keen on the Royals for whatever reason so she might be quite keen to go. Cheers!
  5. He's got most things on the button does wee Berti! Although the expectations bit is bullshit as most people know, expecting to not stuggle against Liechtenstein and expecting more than 3 victories from competitive games is not very high expectations. However, I'll certainly agree with the other things he's said.
  6. Again, I'm not saying he hasn't. However, his basic weaknesses will still cost us. Fair enough, he's a decent enough shot stopper but is that enough? I'm not on this so called brigade of jumping on his every mistake etc but I am on the brigade of that he is not good enough and we should be looking for better. Every mistake just confirms this for me.
  7. Im no saying he hasn't. I'm just saying that I don't think it's a coincidence that we look much stronger defensively and we actually look a strong, hard to beat unit at the back when Anderson has returned. Langfield has certainly benefitted from that.
  8. Langfield is not good enough. Yeah he might be having a few good weeks etc but there are still basic inadequacies of his game that if he hasn't sorted now, he never will. His command of his box is terrible, his kicking is erratic, his positioning at times is shocking and he doesn't exert any confidence in the defence. I don't think it is a coiencidence that the defence has improved with the return of Anderson. In fact, I think Anderson is the one factor that has actually ended up with us having a organised and proper defence for the first time since he left! I mean, you don't give your keeper the nickname 'Clangers' for nothing! He is a good shot stopper but so is half the keepers in the SPL. I would hope at least that Brown and Knox are actively searching for another keeper to challenge and/or replace Langfield, especially with that clown Brown in reserve. That said though, it really shows just the difference in attitude and determination between the pair after what Langfield's been through and how he conducted himself when returning to the team and what Brown has done after getting dropped. And for that, I can only applaud Langfield. However, getting a new goalkeeper in is a priority and we shouldn't all get on our high horse after Langfield has done ok for half a dozen games this season. I agree that January is probably not the best time for a change, regarding money and whether we can get better in January but certainly if the opportunity arose to get someone better either immediately or on a pre-contract then we must take it.
  9. The atmosphere will be much and such whether your in the RDS or SS. SS is a better view but you get a good enough view in the RDS. Makes no difference really where you go. Personally, I booked my tickets today. Row W in the SS.
  10. Was quite funny on facebook seeing all the Tims raging! Especially all of the shite that was spouted after Wednesday. Let's see if Lennon is still calling them his 'heroes'. I would laugh my tits off if they didn't qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League. I really really really really hope we do the cunts on Saturday.
  11. Was in there today for something else but I inquired about buying tickets from there but the wife at the desk thought that they wouldn't have the capabilties for the tickets up and running until Thursday.
  12. I see Danny Lennon has seemingly lost the fans and most are wanting him oot. Brown.
  13. I'm phoning up tomorrow to get tickets sorted. Fully expect a big crowd for this one despite the rank kick off time. Come on ewe Reds!
  14. Portals is belting if you fancy a 7am pint. Last time I was in there, I had to check me watch twice as it was heaving! Done the exact same as you's will be doing before, i.e getting off the boat early doors and on the look out for pints. Orcadians were made very welcome, although I don't know if they'll look kindly on a squad of Shelties darkening their door! Portals for pints and then head across the road to Archies for some brekkie. Tip - Archie's sell food early doors but don't sell drink until 10am.
  15. Absolutely great result! Just what we needed after the cup exit and loss to County!
  16. I voted for Anderson, Rae, Naysmith, Osbourne, Megginson and Low. I've not seen much of the last two but thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt rather than wanting to dump them! Anderson, Rae, Naysmith and Osbourne are all important members of, not only the squad as a whole but the first XI. There's no many more players in the SPL that are more experienced than Anderson, Rae and Naysmith. It's not only experience they bring though, it's hardly like they are being carried. Anderson - has proved a few doubters wrong with his fitness and his form since he's come back and has been an absolute rock at the back. Rae - has had a very good season IMO. Strong, puts in a shift, box to box and has chipped in with a few goals. Before his hamstring injury, Naysmith was a vital part of the defence. Great to see a proper left back playing and was playing really well. Hopefully he will soon get up to match fitness and cement his place in the team once more. Osbourne has quickly become a fans favourite and rightly so. Strong in the tackle, does the simple things well, covers the back four fantastically well and versatile. Great player and it's vital that he signs a new deal. Not afraid to put the boot in either which is always good to have in the team. Jason Brown - he can fuck off to Timbuktoo as far as I'm concerned. Absolute clown. Hope he never gets a game for AFC again. Rory Fallon - He's done ok but has never really impressed me. His goal against Hibs in the Semi's last season was phenomenal and the best goal I've seen live but I really don't think he will score week in, week out. Would have been interesting to see if Brown would have dropped Vernon if Fallon was fit but together, they are too similar. Let him go and use his wages wisely. Top bloke though. Josh Magennis - Again he's done ok but the boy is just not a footballer. He's had three different positions in his short career, none of which he has been good at. No doubt, he will provide the odd good performance, odd assist, odd goal etc but is that enough? He probably is a 'good lad' and 'great to have about the place' but based on his football, he should be let go. I wish the boy well if he does go, no hard feelings!
  17. I'll maybe pop down tomorrow morning a look. Quite like some of the casual tops and need to have a look for some Xmas/birthday shopping anyhow.
  18. Fucking scummy fucking tim fucks buggered me out of £110. Why the fuck did I stick Barca on?! It's no like it would have significantly taken me potential winnings down if I hadn't! Argh! Cunts!
  19. He's only won four caps and the last of them came in 2008. Surely he has deserved a game since then? Especially given the likes of Kirk Broadfoot (who also hae four caps) and Danny Fox have gotten caps since then.
  20. Totally agree with regards to Fraser and Hutton. Give Fraser a rest, I would have him retired from international duty if it means he keeps his best for Aberdeen! Hutton getting picked by Levein was one decision which particularly grinded me. He's nowhere near the Villa first team at the moment and hasn't played a club game since last season but he is an automatic pick for Scotland? Jesus christ, he's no Cafu. He's been shite since it all went downhill at Spurs and I wouldn't consider him a certainty to make the squad, let alone the first XI. McNaughton has been one of the best right backs ootside the Premiership for a few years now and has definitely done more than most to warrant a call up. Strange, maybe it's because he's from Aberdeen. Fucking abysmal player. Just been nowhere near the Scotland squad whatsoever in any form or capacity.
  21. Jesus, what a mess. Almost makes you glad that we have Milne in charge! It's no surprise though, it's been in the pipeline for years now and the majority of the Hearts fans buried their head in the sands.
  22. 1/4 for Obama and 3/1 on Romney on Willie Hill.
  23. I would say the other way round or at least that's what I think it should be. Vernon is coming deeper to get the ball certainly and I think that is also detrimental to his goal-scoring.
  24. Good riddance. Shockingly bad appointment.
