  1. Honestly, what did you think was going to happen?
  2. I think thats the final nail in the "Eric Black dons manager" coffin, pretty gutted to be honest but onwards and upwards. Mcghee is clearly the no 1 favourite and given that Levein is unlikely to come he is now my first choice of the realistic options. One thing i will say about Mcghee is i think some of the comments saying we would be as well off with calderwood are wide of the mark. Mcghee is quite a different type of manager than JC is, I dont envisage any more ridiculous press comments under his (assuming he gets it) reign or any of the tactical lunacy of the past five years. Motherwell were a tough nut to crack in his first year in charge and its fair to say that though they disapointed this season they did get a few key injuries and that pitch would not have helped them in the slightest. We could do significantly worse
  3. Boothroyds cv is pretty good but I am very wary of appointing anyone who has no experience of the scottish game.
  4. Wow a debate about the wether Darren Mackie is any good or not, what a novel idea....
  5. Felt sorry for falkirk, thought they passed it around pretty well and dominated play. They should have had higdon on from the start, weir was shitting it everytime the ball wwent near him

    Team GB

I think smith has actually done the right thing here. Fuck them and their british bollocks, really looking forward to supporting whoever they play
  7. Not only that but can you imagine the ron atkinson effect on someone like aluko after his slur against desailly. No No Please Please No
  8. I agree. Before you even look at his record im willing to bet he knows absolutely fuck all about scottish football.
  9. I think this boy could be worth a fair wad of cash by the time he leaves. I would give him a new deal now even if he still has 2 years left on his current one
  10. Tom that video is a doozer, def going to put that on my face book page!!!!!! I dont want a manager from down south, i think it is really important we get in someone that grew up with scottish football and knows it inside out. Why? Because we are so dependant on youth development and a scottish manager will have a better understanding of the mentality of young scottish players.
  11. Nah its not the best if you ask me, at the end of the day its still red and as long as the inhabitants of it play well i really dont care
  12. I notice in the poll that black is by a country mile the most popular appointment for donstalkers. Does anyone think this is a fair reflection of the support as a whole?
  13. Well i want a gold plated khazi...... lets hope hughes is just as disapointed as i am
  14. HA! Yeah i did but it didnt mean i wasnt aware of it previously, got a good friend who's an arab and he's been bitching about how useless the midfield is without those two
  15. Whoever the new man he will surely take a good long hard look at the squad before making any signings. I would be pretty pissed if he spent money on strikers instead of a new centre half (mihadjuks has been released by ICT and i thought he looked pretty usefull), right back and central midfielder. Miller, bebo, paton, mackie, aluko and wright can all play there. They just need improved service (tin hat on).
  16. I would not be particularily delighted with john hughes as i dont think he's the man for the job. All that really goes in his favour for me is that he has a really good record with developing youth.
  17. Aye but when the scum are in town its normally on the telly which keeps folk away. Given the odds were pretty much with us to snatch europe from utd i thought we would have had 17 18 easy but maybe your right and im being a bit generous. Who knows?
  18. You misinterpret me, by bullshit i mean the inane droning on usually reiterating the same thing over and over which JC press releases were full of over the 5 years
  19. Given what was at stake i dont think im totally out of line to expect 4000 more. Hell if i hadnt had a once in a lifetime opportunity i was coming through and i am seriously skinters at the mo TF. All im saying is i think its important to get a manager that the fans will back straight away to get season ticket sales up.
  20. I just looked up his record, its pretty good to be fair with promotion two years on the trot. The only thing im wary about is the whole sentimental aspect of appointing him
  21. The attendance was 14083. Aye thats massive
  22. Fair dues kow but i like him and his style. Utd were playing some very decent football up till january when they lost their starting central midfielders flood and robertson, if you look at their results thats where they started to dip.
  23. Maybe but there were a lot of people saying they would not renew season tickets or even go back under calderwood. This is what im getting at by saying we need to get people through the turnstiles. I couldnt help but notice in the highlights that there were big spaces in the stands on sunday in what was a very big game.
  24. Och he's blowing his own trumpet a bit too much for my liking. I have fond memories of his tenure but i cant say i will remember him fondly mainly for bullshit press statements like that.
  25. Ok so i feel somewhat out of the loop as i was down at the liverpool game, got offered a free ticket and lift down and back and thought why not. Anyway. What i regard as important here is we fill the following criteria aside from the ability to actually coach and manage. The new man knows scottish football, at the moment we are completely reliant on scottish players so we need someone who has experience of the scottish leagues and developing young players. From the word go he needs to be someone the fans will unite behind. One of JC's biggest problems was sections of the support were never convinced and attendances have suffered. We need that money, its probably the biggest influence in JC getting shown the door. The only way i can see this happening is if the new man has been here before and done well. Way i see it is the only men mentioned that tick both box's are Strachan, Mcleish, Miller, Black or Mcghee and realistically its between Black and Mcghee. My personal preference is Black but i will not be disapointed with Mcghee. For the record i would love levein but i dont think he would come nor do i think the support would unite behind him
