isnt that where the tims got mccourt from?
-
We moved the ball about pretty well but passed of the park is simply inaccurate, this is what i mean we beat a very average rangers team 1-0 and all of a sudden we are fucking brazil. Azteca, just watched the highlights on the beeb and there were only two shots shown after kerr went off. As for boyd, well watch the highlights again and on another day he would have had a hatrick. He was one on one three times, first half he went for the shot and mculloch tried to put a head on it as it was going wide, second half he forced clangers into a mint save from the penalty spot and then from the same place turned and tamely skuffed it into the ground. These were all chances i would expect him to put away 9 times out of 10. If we hadnt had such injuries to the back line i doubt they would have had anywhere near as many chances, positionally foster and charlie were all over the place. If we dont have a defence again on sat i think we will get found out big time

I dont like to be a killjoy but a lot of people seem to be getting way too carried away with a 1-0 win. In my opinion we rode our luck big time, which the stats below back up they had 19 shots ffs, and if we defend like we did against the huns then i dont see us taking the square route of hee haw from the tattie bowl. If we can get at least one centre half back to play alongside charlie or fosterhino i'll be a bit more confident but at the mo im not optimistic Possession Aberdeen 56% Rangers 44% Attempts on target Aberdeen 2 Rangers 6 Attempts off target Aberdeen 6 Rangers 13 Corners Aberdeen 1 Rangers 5 Fouls Aberdeen 19 Rangers 20

Is there any word on considine ifil and diamond yet? Its good to hear that aluko and fyvie are on the mend but i dont fancy playing the tims at their place with a makeshift back 4. They looked pretty lively up front against st mirren

Good vs Evil - Saturday LIVE on Sky Sports

Cracking result, really was. Gotta say though i thought once we scored we seemed to stop playing. They may have been playing poorly but on another day boyd would have had a hattrick some of the chances he missed. That said i reckon he only got so much space at times because of the makeshift defence. As i said great result and i thought we played particularily well for the 10 minutes up to the goal but lets not pretend we didnt ride our luck in that game. They had 3 times as many shot on target and twice as many off target. -
oh god oh god please no

Spiers with a few words for Willie Miller
tlg1903 replied to BobbyBiscuit's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
I have iun the past been a big fan of spiers, he was the only journo who seemed to get why we didnt like JC to much and wrote a very good article summing it up for one. That said i have read a few of his in the past month that have made me wary of him. Whilst there are a couple of reasonable points in the above it seems more personal in its criticisms than is par for the course for spiers. Re millers "outbursts" at ref's i believe these to simply be trying to get the siege mentality back at pittodrie after 5 years of calderwood being everyone's best mate -
Alright folks long time no speak, hope you all are keeping well. I for one would love to see jim o brien at pittodrie, he's a player that has really impressed me the past year or so and is exactly the kind of player we need. Foster has come on as a player under mcghee by all accounts, not sure about gary mac though. I had hoped he would fill the void left by barry nic but it doesnt seem to have quite happened for him.
-
One positive about this is it shows mcghee isnt scared of making tough and potentially unpopular decisions. Sacking leighton would not have been an easy choice given their playing history and the affection the fans have for him bit he had the stones to do it.
-
Can but hope that paton will. I really liked the look of him when he came on at ibrox

P&J: Aberdeen are closing in on French defender

Its also very likely that the only reason webster was prepared to go to utd would be to work with levein again. -
I see mccall is in the running for the falkirk job. I'd actually like him to get it, always enjoyed shouting abuse at him from the stands.
-
You could try phoning them up? If they go bust you've lost your money
-
Anyone else think the lady (camp chairman in this case) doth protest too much? Sounds to me like he is resigned to losing Mcghee and looking for a replacement already though he doesnt want Mcghee to know this of course for hope of another lithuania flight scenario.
-
Says on the beeb website that up to 3 spl clubs could go into admin if setanta doesnt pay up. I wonder who they would be? Probably st mirren, killmarnock and falkirk i would have thought. Would be bad for the league if they did but on the flip side might mean we could get andy dorman on the cheap. Wouldnt mind that taoul boy from killie either

The "big kyle" comment after the cheating cunt had got mulgrew sent off really pissed me of.
-
I dont believe he should be judged on his playing career if considered for this position. John hughes wasnt ever used in the same sentence as "slick passing movement " during his playing career but as a coach his teams do. Same can be said for tony mowbary. Dobbin's coaching cv is pretty good and he gives a shit about AFC. More than that i dont imagine him taking any shit on the coaching pitches nice guy or not.

I cant help but find their delusions of granduer quite funny.

I have to say i feel an element of sympathy for wright, he hasnt had much of a sniff of the first team. It kinda reminds me how JDV was treated. Signed as an attacker that could create/score chances (depending on player) in lots of media attention but then never played. -

I think calderwood instability would have put players off coming to aberdeen as well. Its common knowledge that there was pessimism of the managers ability in a wide cross section of the support, i dont think a player would be quite so keen to sign for a manager that might not be there in 6 months. Whatever else mcghee gives us he gives us a lot more appeal to new signings on these grounds alone though of course any new manager would have provided this. He wasn't my first choice but far from my last. That said I think he will do a better job than calderwood, possibly quite a bit, and im very pleased we have appointed someone who knows the club and the scottish game. There will be none of the JC niceness directed toward every single team except celtic. Hopefully we might even recreate the siege mentality fergie had going. No reason why not though, most teams fans in scotland hate aberdeen (well apart from some sellick and hibs fans). Im also actually looking forward to hearing a press release from the aberdeen manager, its been a while since i could say that the amount of drivel JC came out with. Welcome home Mr Mcghee -
No its not. Given the finances of the club though its probably the best reference available now
