The only thing I would disagree with there is I think wee brucey is a more dangerous striker than Sokler. Different types of player though, Sokler will work the channels for you far more effectively than Anderson.

Yeah I would largely agree with this. Geggenpress systems often have a striker that isn't necessary the most prolific. Full backs tend to take over the wide midfielder duty of getting to the byline and wide midfielders, as you say, are inside forwards looking to get into the box and score themselves. It doesn't necessarily mean they are incapable no 9's, there's just more competition in the box looking to score with the two inside forwards and often the full back on the other side in there too. Bobby Firminho at Liverpool would be quite a good example maybe (not looked at any stats but the first player that came to mind) as I don't recall him scoring shit loads but I certainly remember him getting a fair few assists.

Was chatting with an ICT supporting pal a month or so ago about Bavidge. He liked him and said he proper knew where the net was but he did have a tendency to get his Casper on at times. I've said my piece re euro reg rules and nothing has changed. I just hope at least 2 of the 4 we are wanting in have been trained at a Scottish club for 3 years up to the age of 21. I'm in the strange position of aching for football to come back but dreading the opening fixture. I defo feel we are going into the campaign a little under cooked both in terms of match fitness and squad building. Obviously we aren't even into August yet and the club is probably trying to keep it's powder dry until a bit closer to the end of the window. They may also be thinking about potentially impending sell on clauses becoming active and waiting to see if so before splashing out for a key target. With 8 days still to go before we head to Edinburgh my feeling is we will see at least one in and out before then. I defo think we needed a few more friendly matches but I got curious about what JT's form is for pre season. This was Elfsborg last season. So, 7 matches in 8 weeks. I've no idea why there was such a big gap between friendly 5 and 6. I'm going to suggest that Thelin doesn't hold with the idea you need to have lot's of friendlies to be match fit. Perhaps he prefers playing bounce games between the squad instead . No idea how we will lineup in other than it will be Mitov in goal, Aouchiche at 10, Topi wide left and Yengi as CF. I don't think it's impossible to go there and get something but it's not going to be easy and I defo think we need to score first.

word on the hat is it's Kerfala Cissoko a 25 yo Guinean who is currently playing for Jaro in finland but had previously played in sweden. On the face of it I would say it's bollocks though as he is uncapped and probably wouldn't get a work permit

Welcome to Wrexham is really well done, the producers have done a masterful job of getting people invested in the fate of the club and the team have provided some excellent moments to help them sell it.

Personally, and I'm well aware most will disagree, I'm prepared to give Ambrose a little more time. He was signed as a project player and there looks to be a some improvement after pre season. Don't get me wrong, I still supect it's probably not going to work out, but it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a player go from no hoper to handy player in a reasonable amount of time). I still think he should be put out on loan though, he would have been a very good contender for the new loan scheme thingy but sadly he's not Scottish. I think it would depend on who we are playing re your second paragraph. At home against teams that are parking the bus I would be fine with those three but anyone that's actually looking to take a swing at us it's probably not going to work. Big agree, I think Topi is going to have a real breakout season and this time next season he'll be getting sniffed around a lot.

Sokler is surely away. Why do you feel it's a big if though? It's 9 days until we play hearts so that seems like a reasonable window given we will have been working on targerts since the last window.

For 18 Kjartansson is incredibly well developed physically. It's going to be really interesting to see how he develops longer term. Good points. Solid enough debuts for Milanovic and Aouchiche, Keskinen looked really lively (some cracking backheels) and good to see Nilsen and his shithousery back in the side. I thought in spells we looked pretty handy, I was encouraged to see us winning the ball a few times by swarming the player and breaking quickly. Elfsborg did that a lot when I was watching them before JT moved but we have yet to really see it. Bad points. No 1 has to be the way we kept conceding possession in our own half. If we turn up at Tynecastle being so slack it's not going to go well for us. Mitov had a poor game, no two ways about it and should have done better with all 3. Gavin Molloy reminded me of Considine when he first got moved to lb and didn't look even remotely comfortable there, I really hope we are not planning on playing him there regularly. Yengi tried to put himself about but we didn't really have enough possession in their half for him to get involved really. All in not great, not terrible. Biggest question mark is if this is going to be the game that marks the beginning of the Peter Ambrose redemption arc . Couldn't help have a wee wry smile to myself when he scored with his first touch given the feelings of a large section of the support.
