The "How much will we get for Pittodrie" Sweepstake
tom_widdows replied to Tyrant's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Milne will be up against the likes of Barrats, Turnberry, Taylor Wimpey, Bovis, Cala etc. Football stadiums are normally snapped up by retail developers so the fact this is a 13.2 acre residential site with outline planning permission, close to the beach and city centre in a city which apparently still has a fairly decent property market should have them sniffing blood. Im relatively hopefull especially since the council wont be selling it. £38m+ -caledonia £37m - £36m - £35m - £34m - £33m - £32m - £31m - £30m -Octavion £29m - £28m - £27m - £26m - £25m - MBT £24m - Tom_Widdows £23m - Topcorner £22m - £21m - Glasgow Sheep £20m - Tyrant £19m - Scotfree £18m - Kowalski £17m - BigAl £16m - rocket_scientist (and that's a fucking steal) £15m - Capitalsharpie £14m - mizer £13m - Bilbo £12m - Sandaldinho £11m - £10m - £9m - £8m - £7m - £6m - TF, what we'll actually get £5m - £4m - £3m - £2m - £1m - Fuck all - -

Football stadia have different requirements with regards to emergency vehicle access and also crowd dispersal. one of the reasons the RDS has that massive concourse. Make the entire place residential and it changes the nature of the road infrastructure.

Admittedly our media is full of muppets but the number of times ive heard about how certain teams are on good form while they go on about how us and Hibs have problems Dundee United are 3-1 down at home to Motherwell and for all their 'good form' they will only be 1 point ahead of us and hibs come 5pm. Kilmarnock for all their 'good form' have just gone 2-1 down at home to st Johnstone so they too could only be 1 point ahead of us and hibs Amazing how shite our league is that by the time we finish the first round of games we could be 5th if results go our way

Only available online. They announced it too late for BBC scotland to change their usual friday night schedule or something like that

Seriously? Have to ask what 3D could do to improve (or worsen) it from its original 1994 2D state? Personally I thought disney had given up on re-releasing its animated movies back into the cinemas every few years after they made such a killing on Video, DVD, Blue ray sales from the mid 80s onwards supposed its naive of me to think they wouldnt take advantage of this latest 3D fad to tap extra cash out of the public without doing any extra work

Another fixture change - Hibs in December
tom_widdows replied to mizer's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
You and several thousand other Wonder how many will bother watching it on ESPN -

Interesting situation. Knee jerk reaction from reading that is how fucking unprofessional but then again I dont know that much on this tevez situation. Whilst the bosman gave the players power and the chance to drive up their salaries perhaps it is now getting to the point that these players are signing contracts that even they cant afford to buy themselves out of (tevez on £150k a week allegedly)

Basle just come from 2-0 down to go 3-2 up at Old Trafford Not a good night for manchester

Capitalism - Everything must be run to make money. Breaking even or making a small loss is not an option and if you see a rival doing better than you then you must spend more money until 'oh fuck there isnt any left...better cut back on things to make sure the people at the top are ok' Take anything in society that had some sort of socialist aspect and was well known for never making a profit but people got on with it and you will find capitalism will eventually make it worse. As Ruskin said “There is hardly anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse and sell a little cheaper, and the people who consider price only are this man's lawful prey.”

st johnstone 1 goal away from going 4th with a game in hand. in hindsight their fans must be a slightly annoyed that they didnt bother attacking us on the opening day of the season

I wouldnt be so sure. wind up a football club which appears to have dwindling interest to its fans and potential sponsors, take posession of their assets and sell off the land to cover their loses and make a bit of money on the side. I dont think just because its 'Aberdeen' would make them even think twice. Banks are still threatening to take out clubs like all over the uk with both bigger and smaller fanbases. At the risk of being a hypocrit perhaps administration for us would be more like it was for Motherwell instead of it was for Gretna. Wipe out of debts for 2p in the pound, clear out almost the entire senior playing squad forcing us to rely on youth and if luck prevails Morton winning the 1st division and not being able to get thier act together in building that stand they bought from St Mirren or bolting down some seats to the terracing.

where the 'brown' option?
