  1. interesting to see what the clubs do when the sky deal runs out Sky know it is a buyers market so could have the whole league over a barrel. If the deal was half of what we currently get would they tell them to fuck off and concentrate on getting the lost revenue from attendances or would they grease up and take it like the bitches most football clubs in europe are? Given my interest in the game has been steadily declinining since the first SPL tv deal (6:05pm sunday kick offs) Im beginning to wonder if a return to the old days of saturday night sportscene and sunday afternoon scotsport might make me take notice again and would it actually kill our league or just force out the deadwood?
  2. i do wonder about professional footballers I know they arent known for intelligence but after all the supposed crap about im wanting a move closer to the family, 2months after his contract expires he decides to go on trial at a club which is apparently on the edge of financial ruin. Reminds me of all those players who turned down clubs like us, the arabs, hibs etc to go to Hearts and are now wondering if their pay packets are going to turn up and supposedly being told to find somewhere else to play. Perhaps im being unfair but i reckon he thought there would be a queue of championship or perhaps even a couple of premierships teams waiting for him and now hes finding out what the real world is like
  3. Not to be cynical but a player on a 1 year contract facing a prossible bad injury suddenly being keen to extend the deal he is already on doesnt surprise me
  4. According to wikipedia we were meant to be sending Peter hetherson to united in exchange but Hetherston failed the medical. I always thought he pulled the plug and went off to be player manager somewhere
  5. Another classic example of peoples desires to be-little others to cover their own insecurities The issue here is not that a professional footballer isnt an intellectual but that the school saw fit to invite him in as a positive role model to encourage children to read more. Had they brought him in to encourage them how to run around alot or show them how to earn between 50-200k a year for the best part of a decade without being very good at their job then fine but when you think of intelligence does anyone here automatically think of a professional footballer? My old school managed to get Michael Morpurgo to visit them. The journos can say what they want (the standard of literacy in the media is getting worse by the way) but put them up against mackie on a football pitch and he would humiliate them.
  6. You actually made an effort?
  7. Stick the postcode on their website into google and you end up in the docks next to the neptune bar I take it this is the old Lazerquest?

Admit it you only got the first 2 for the title and never read the speel 2:50 onwards
  9. Last time I saw him was a random appearance on a 'fresh prince of bel-air' repeat. Apparently he managed 3 platinum albums in yankee-ville.
  10. BBC reporting that he swedish? Any chance its another Kari arnason that is injured?
  11. Not that I wish to defend him but for some bizarre reason Invergowrie is governed by Perth & Kinross Council
  12. Appears to be a massive Polish way support at Fulham. Almost as many stewards & cops too
  13. The argument is if ian wood is giving 50million for the gardens then 50million is the maximum budget. But then again there is a proposal which has planning permission and would only cost approx 10million (which they had already raised 9.5million.) but fucking megalomaniac and his friends on the council jumped in with dreams and pure greed so the 9.5million for peacock visual arts has gone elsewhere. As per usual in these situations nothing will eventually get done because too many people want a piece of the action
  14. Saying on BBC now that the court action is to have the winding up order dismissed (probably why the BBC have now removed it from their main headlines)
  15. http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/sport/spl/3911799/Hearts-tell-big-earners-to-quit.html Id say there might be something in that if they hadnt felt the need to say a team with severe financial problems has gone to another team with severe finacial problems saying 'hes yours for £500k
  16. They've had them before and they'll hav them again
  17. There is a big difference between 'we object' and 'we want more information' Fucking journalists stirring up shite out of a fairly standard request in these stypes of developments.

  19. Im sorry entering the spl under a new guise??? Dont recall Airdrie simply re-entering the First division under a new guise Dont recall Gretna being offered the option to 'Re-enter' the SPL under a new guise If Glasgow rangers FC ceases to exist then there is a spare space in the scottish league up for grabs and they should have to go through the same crap Annan, Ross County, Caley Thistle, Elgin, Peterhead and Airdrie United had to. If 'wearedapeoplebyraway United' were let simply let straight back into the SPL I would hope UEFA would ban scotland from international football until they were sent back to the 3rd division where they belong. Be even more of a joke if they were let back in with a 75 point penalty

  21. They've also shifted Motherwell Vs Hibs to a Friday Night (2nd december)
  22. Overshadowed because of Ricky Villas winner
  23. check the commentary for jacks goal on this one. I think its meant to be celtic TV but perhaps its radio clyde?
  24. They are even more fucked with regards to redeveloping their main stand than us as they have a nursery school in the corner between the main and roseburn stands, some other private business in the opposite corner plus a brand new school on the opposite side of the street. All sorts of traffic management and health & safety legistlation kick in when a school is on your front door step. A new stand with corporate, shops, hotels or whatever bollocks they were bragging about would also require a nice big concourse and lots of parking for which there is no space. Personally im amazed they got away with the new stands they have
