  1. Actually he inherited a team that finished 8th and then finished bottom in his first season only being saved from a playoff with falkirk because brockville wasnt up to scratch
  2. listening to off the ball on the Iplayer and as far as im concerned Mcleish sounds like the typical puppet. People seem to be applauding his involvement because he once played the game but that was back in the 60s when tv money etc wasnt an issue Cosgrove asked him if the TV money etc should be split equally between the clubs to which he said no. Cosgrove then said ' so there will be 10 clubs but they are not equal, are you happy with the inequality'. Response was to avoid answering that question and start going on about other european leagues etc. Scottish football will never improve if Rangers and celtic who will naturally earn more money from gate reciepts, merchandising etc are also each guaranteed 25% of any sponsorship deal while the others get 5-6.25% They are stuck in the spl with the the rest of us so make them tow the line too.
  3. The miller debacle kicked off just as I went into 6th year and I only got to see 1 game that season (2-0 win over hibs). Given there wasnt the 24hr media coverage or internet discussion forums my main source for AFC news was the P & J and being young & nieve it was just another shit season as most had been since I took an interest in football. I just recall a stephen glass header shafting the huns championship hopes. Had miller been in charge now I think he would have edged it but he didnt have the opportunity to make himself look a compelte prik infront of the media like mcghee did. For sheer stubborn delusionment and lack of squad/money management Mcghee gets my vote
  4. Clearly you've never heard of the route via kingswells which cuts out the haudigan roundabout
  5. Radio scotland saying he will be signed by Monday

so you made it to the isle of mull from englandshire whilst cunningly avoiding that notorious detour which forces you from the M74 onto the A90 to Aberdeen, then along the A96 to Inverness before drop kicking you down the A82. Wish id thought to avoid that. Took me 12hrs to get from Lesmahagow to Partick on monday
  7. I fucking hate womens football and arsenals winning goal looks offside to me
  8. But to be fair to those of us who did not see Mcghee as our saviour it appears Brown will once again have to get rid of some players to get more in. Hes not being given a transfer kitty to spend. And Brown I presume will not emulate his predecessor and immedietly get rid of all our strikers and/ or goalkeepers and buy nothing but full backs. Mcghees antics in the transfer market put me in mind of playing football age 5. If you were fat, wheezy, shite at football or all 3 you were defence or goalkeeper. Everyone else was a striker so the game was basically a rugby scrum running up and down the pitch or hall occasionally having to side step 2-3 speccy fat kids who would camply stick a leg out hoping the ball would magically stick to it. Since the other team was the same the matches were pretty much equal. Unfortunaly for Mcghee it will be at least 5more years before the SPL reaches that level
  9. Tis what happened in 1993/94 when Raith Rovers, Dundee and St Johnstone went down. St Johnstone were effectiverly relegated by Brian Irvine on the second last game of the season. Did the clubs vote that in or was that a time when the SFA just said 'were doing this!'
  10. Unfortunately watching the dons is painful suicide on the other hand....
  11. Technically it was a record equalled
  12. supposedly theres big problem at tynecastle and there is now a 10000 capacity cap for todays games due to burst pipes. Part if not all of the roseburn stand has been closed with fans to be moved to the main or wheatfield
  13. Its not the deletion of emails that is the issue Its that thay can and generally always will be hi-jacked by other people. No doubt there will be numerous posts by a certain mr Durrant, the wombles, the tweenies, Milnes wig.....
  14. Better idea Get a proper petition together and stand outside pittdrie or whatever away ground the dons are playing it getting actual signatures from the fans. Online petitions are about as effective as facebook campaigns where all you have to do is change your profile picture
  15. See Berti Vogts, walter smith, Alex mcleish, George Burley, craig levein and every future scotland manager
  16. Might have misheard but this seems to contradict the motherwell statement read out on sportsound on Tuesday night
  17. All look a bit stupid if hes just decided to quit motherwell and put his feet up

Whilst fortunate as I was today to be sent to Kilmarnock instead of Larkhall like my colleague there were a few moments I thought 'not really sure about this' Only one of those was me losing concentration. The rest were all caused by the actions of others. The fact there was an article on the BBC newswebsite giving instructions how to drive in the snow says alot for our society. People will still carry on driving as if there is no change to the conditions then get angry when theres an accident. The woman whose car I helped push out today just did not understand that more power when your tyres have no grip will only make the situation worse and if by chance you do suddenly get grip you will lurch out of control. Then to actually stop in another patch of black ice and suggest we had possibly damaged her car because she was sliding about is worrying. The people who were overtaking at random intervals at speeds over 50mph through slush so deep it scraped the bottom of your car and actually tailgating those infront of them. The 10 car lengths rule that was drilled into my head only applies to certain people apparently. And of course the classic lack of headlights (silver or grey cars still seem to be the worst offenders) in blizzard or fog. It is genuinly scary how stupid or unaware of the consequences of their own actions people are. Always someone elses fault when they fuck things up. Anyway the issue with the transport infrastructure is a classic example of rival politics. I genuinly believe rival parties will cancel the others policies the second they get into power just to piss them off. The Edinburgh trams springs to mind especially because the glasgow rail connection was cancelled to help fund them and now there are even rumours they will just cancel the whole project. People can accuse me of west coast or northern bias because I dont live in the capital but I cannot see any justification for them. Edinburgh has very decent bus service and the airport is next to a fucking railway so 10million could have built a spur and a bog standard station and walkway like at Prestwick. This could also have been done at Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness all for less than the fucking trams. The A9, A96, M8, A82 and probably numerous other roads all need major upgrading. I think most if not all of the A9 could have been made dual carriageway for the current cost of the tram works. Then there are the trains. The stupid single line between inverness and Pitlochry so there are only 4 trains a day from inverness to glasgow and inverness to edinburgh. I beginning to think transport should be banned from election manifestos. it should be something that all parties just agree and can only change if everyone agrees it needs to (lack of funds etc). That way it ends scenarios like the SNP's 'edinburgh gets trams, inverness, Glasgow, Aberdeen, dundee lose their new roads, rail links etc the moment they are elected.

Certainly did. As did several hundred other people We also showed first bus and scotrail! A special mention to the partick WAG whose mercedes myself and 2 other guys eventually shoved out of the ice hole she had dug for herself. After finally getting it moving she drive about 30yards and then half pulled into another iced section, got out and asked if we had somehow jammed the bits of wood we used to lever her out under her car because she was 'all over the place'. Our response of 'thats because the road is icey' wasnt taken too well
  21. Colorado Avalanche vs Minnesota wild was like an oven compared to the games being talked about here Ya big jessie

Told by people in Kilmarnock that I would never get home and I should check into a hotel. Left kilie at 315pm and got back to the office at 440pm. Tad slower and a few muppets who dont understand the concept of 'deep slush = your brakes dont work above 15mph' but no big issues However I appeared to be the only person driving IN to glasgow when I took the drumbrek slip road. If yer in Braehead or partick then good luck getting on the M77 via the clyde tunnel. traffic is still queing outside the office at partick station
  23. Scotland vs Faroe Islands at Pittodrie back in 1998 Had a seat at the very back row of section Y next to the floodlights. Seat was actually behind the back of the roof which created a freezing wind tunnel. Luckily a few people in front of me went home due to boredom so i was able to move further down the stand midway through the second half. Scottish cup tie at Alloa 2 seasons back. Driving rain, howling wind and stood on an exposed grassy bank
