  1. That said there is an argument that having cheaper tickets would bring in more fans thus offsetting that loss. More fans through the gate also means more pies and drinks sold and higher fan engagment can also translate to extra sales of merchandise and safeguard the clubs future. I bet there is a lot of folk out there who would love to go to more games but can't afford to or can't justify the cost.
  2. Agree that the Miovski goal looked very tight hopefully the introduction of VAR includes the installation of a few more cameras around the grounds as the shots we have for this one are completely inconclusive. St Johnstone have been tough to break down for a good while, so a one nil and a couple of chances away from home is fine with me. I do agree that Goodwin is being stubborn in trying to put his mark on this team. I think from what I've seen of Roos he is worse than Joe Lewis but I feel Lewis is suffering simply from being one of the old guard. Still feel Ramirez is on the way out and that obviously contributes to the reluctance to give him minutes.
  3. Just watched the highlights. Miovski really should have hit the net when one on one with there keeper, but to be fair he made up for it with his goal. There second goal I don't understand why we don't have anyone protecting the keeper, the third we shouldn't let them take it down in our half like that. Good thing is these are simple things that may just be down to the team not having time to gel. Not having been at the game today I can't really comment on the rest of the performance.
  4. Great time to grab one back. Let's hope we up our game second half and get the result.
  5. Looking like the goals are spread nicely between our attacking players so far. It's also good to see our forwards all off the mark this early on.
  6. I hope we have told Celtic to shove it in this case. Scales is surplus to requirements at Celtic whereas Barron is a great prospect who is going to be a key part of our team. If they want to chuck us 3 million and Scales then sure but we better not let him go on the cheap to get Scales in.
  7. If true its a loan could be the reason why were missing out. He would probably have to take a pay cut to come to us. We need to build for the future so I think as little loans as possible is the correct approach.
  8. I think we need to win this one to keep morale up for both the team and supporters. I think its realistic to expect us win games against lower league opposition and as this is at Pittodrie there should be no excuses.
  9. I'll start off optimistic...
  10. I know technically they may have got there first games under McInnes but I wouldn't count Mackenzie or Barron as McInnes players.
  11. Looks a composed finisher from that clip. Let's hope he can do it for us.
  12. Certainly seems like the wheels are coming off for Scotland at the moment. Just the manner of the defeats is what is really discouraging. Ireland were there for the taking and 3-0 probably does flatter them but we didnt look like doing anything ourselves. Need to take a bit of time to reflect but not feeling particularily positive about the national side.

    Ramsay

If the club has any sense we will have structured the deal based on getting bonuses when he makes a certain number of appearances, international recognition etc. I agree that unless he's that good that Real Madrid come along in a few years time its unlikely a sell on fee will be substantial. He will either be good enough to stay at Liverpool for most of his career or he will flop and get transferred to a championship club at a cut price deal.
  14. If this is supposed to be sarcasm forgive me. But Florian Kamberi was an Albanian International, which is why I'll reserve my judgement on this guy. Not really a position we need filling either.
  15. Goodwins comments tonight give me hope that is the intention. "We were in complete control and one ball over the top of our backline and the ball is in the net. When the ball comers across the face of goal, it is really, really poor defending. There's no getting away from the numbers - this team has conceded far too many goals."
  16. I wouldn't have a problem with Hladky if he's back up to Lewis. The only reason I could see us looking to offload Lewis is if we are trying to free up his wages. Like others have said he's not had the best season but I don't see why he can't recapture his form.
  17. I assumed everyone was having the same problem making comments as I was. Some sort of bug?
  18. If that's the case I understand not offering two years. He won't get two years anywhere at his age and coming back from that type of injury. That said I don't think we should be taking the offer of 1 year off the table unless we have someone lined up who can replace him and we need the budget to bring them in. Maybe this is the case but it does seem early at this point.
  19. Think we already have one in JET. Charles Dunne will be our Richie Byrne equivalent.
  20. Cormack hired glass and it has always been a questionable appointment so he is partly to blame. I'll give Cormack the benefit of doubt for now as like you say he has put money in and I believe he does want the best for AFC. But he has to accept that this experiment with Glass isn't going to plan at some point. I wouldn't touch Jack Ross though. Honestly would rather have McInnes back (and to be clear that's not something I want either).
  21. Good to see us bringing in a flair player. Hopefully he can adapt to the physical side of the game here and be a real find. It's definately a position where we need strengthening.
  22. Good point, Christie was with us for a couple of years so you almost forget he was a loan. Still a good few years since we got anyone decent in. If we had given the time we gave to the likes of James Wilson to one of youth prospects maybe some more of them would have kicked on. Got to credit Glass, he seems more likely to give our own young players a chance than McInnes.
  23. It's been years since we got anyone decent on loan. Maddison is the last one I can think of. Would be better just giving time to our own youngsters.

    Ramsay

I think it was about the same time the two of them broke through but a few things went in Pattersons favor over Ramsey. Rangers were doing well at the time which allowed him to slot in and show how good he was, whereas we have been struggling and Ramsey hasn't had the players around him to show his best. I think though we can all agree another factor was that Scotland couldn't go to the Euros without a hun in the squad so he was fast tracked in there. Both have (according to Wikipedia) made roughly the same number of appearances and that's with Ramsey having been out for several months. I presume Ramsey actually has more starts and minutes as well. I actually think Patterson is a decent player from what I've seen but we will see how good now he's at Everton. The plus for Ramsey is that he has time on his side. He's a couple of years younger than Patterson so hopefully a better prospect in the end.
  25. Think we were a bit fortuitous today but its always a slog against them. Probably just starts to make up for the times we have been unlucky this season. With results going for us again today I would say 3rd place is there for the taking. I'm not going to get ahead of myself and say I'm confident we will do it, but I am starting to feel a bit more optimistic. None of the other teams in the league are particularly good Hearts somehow went about 10 games unbeaten but are now only 6 points ahead of us. But even if our form is a bit patchy throughout the season it still looks like we still might have enough to achieve a spot in europe which would be a good result for the first season under new management.
