  1. Didn't realise it was on so early so only tuned in at half time. Didn't seem a great performance from there, but we are through so that's what matters. I think they are a decent side and obviously a bit fitter then us at the moment as well. How Ojo missed that chance I'm not sure, thankfully it doesn't matter. Looking like we will be facing Breidablik next round as they are 3-1 up on aggregate at half time.
  2. But obviously that has to be an acceptable offer. You can guess that Fergusons agent has been letting clubs know that, so now you have Watford coming in with paltry offers of 1.2m. I don't even think its good for Ferguson if that's all they value him at. They clearly don't see him as a starter if they are only willing to pay that little. He will just be seen as a cheap bench warmer at that price.
  3. The hun link will always be there because of his family connections, but could be a case he does want a move to the Premier league. If we said to Watford we want 3.5m + 20% sell on to mind there is no reason why we would accept the same from the huns. We can reject offers based on them being rivals and then there is the fact that a sell on fee from the huns is likely to be substantially less then a PL club.
  4. And they've included the uncapped Rangers RB who has made 14 first team appearances. I thought Clarke would have had the balls to ignore the media. I'm not saying he's not going to be good in the long run but is 14 games enough time to tell? Is there anything to say this kid is better than Calvin Ramsey? If one of our defenders gets crocked do we really want to rely on a kid who has this little experience.
  5. Boyle is a Dons supporter as well. I'm sure he has plenty of admirers with how he's been doing the last few seasons for hibs, but would be worth making an approach.
  6. Wouldn't be a great signing. At 30 years of age he doesn't have much room for improvement and he hasn't been all that great over the course of his career.
  7. Looked like Mcgeough that ended up wrong side of his man to me, Ive only seen it a couple of times mind. Hayes looks to be injured now aswell.
  8. Your right, I thought it was when they were down in the first division, but I've just checked and I stand corrected.
  9. Would be good to see us take a punt on someone from the lower leagues. Its something we haven't done often enough. When you see the success Hibs have had with players like McGinn and Nisbet and the relatively low risk it would make a lot of sense for us.
  10. I wonder if we will be back to having our targets all over the papers with Glass. One of the things I enjoyed about the McInnes era was that by the time we heard about it we had the deal just about done. I presume the reason for announcing your targets is to get there attention and let them know how interested you are but its frustrating for the fans if it comes to nothing.
  11. Siegrist being out definately gives us a better chance. Its a bad indicament of the season that we have yet to beat them. If we go at them like we did Celtic midweek we should have enough. In Walk (weather dependant) TV Who knows 2-1 Considine, Hendry, Shankland for them
  12. I wouldn't disagree that Hayes was running out of steam, but Mcgregor wasn't trying to get the ball and from the replay I saw put his arm across although I would like to see it again.
  13. That is sickening! But still a lot of positives, Collum was shite as usual.
  14. Any news on Ramsays injury? Hope its not bad, would be good to see him get a run in the team.
  15. Is Virtanen a central midfielder? Or can he play a few positions? Id like to see him do well but think he will find it hard to get a regular game in that position for us.
  16. Alex Neil just been sacked. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56477270
  17. What's this Sh@*! about Rangers and Celtic B teams joining league 2. Im not against B teams per se but this is just a proposal to give sporting advantage to them, and is indicative of what's wrong with scottish football. If we look at it based on merit we deserve to have a B team more than the huns who were in that league a few seasons back.
  18. Not sure if anyone has mentioned Chris Wilder. Just got the sack at Sheffield Utd. This season apart he seems to have had a pretty successful managerial career. I don't know if he would come and my only reservation is that he signed Ollie Mcburnie but maybe worth a look.
  19. I think the real failure of the McInnes era is failing to progress in Europe. I know we have had some tough ties and we have never been knocked out by minnows, but we have had some very winnable ties in which we haven't delivered. I think the perfect example of why we haven't been able to do this is the Sporting Lisbon tie this season. McInnes was clearly too in awe of a big club to have a go at them despite the fact we were playing there second string and they had not even played a game this season. As McMaster says in that article its that losers mentality that is holding us back and that came from McInnes. Progress in Europe is the best way to boost the budget. We will never be on a level playing field with the old firm but I believe (and I think that the board do aswell) we can compete if we can get a bit closer to them by raking in some European cash. The other thing I will be watching for in future is the progress of our youth players. I always think that McInnes mismanaged our youth players pretty badly. I think it was Tony Mowbray that said about the Hibs generation that came through under him, It wasn't that these players were miles ahead of any other generation. Its just that they were given the right opportunities at the right time for their development. Giving youth players two minutes at the end of a match or not playing them after they have played well the previous week seem to have been a theme under McInnes and I can't imagine it gives these youngsters the confidence to push on.
  20. And it's really interesting point that McKenna was a home grown talent. One of the things I'm looking forward to with McInnes leaving is finally seeing if we have any other decent kids coming through. Perhaps Ethan Ross will finally get more then a 5 minute cameo.
  21. OK, cheers for clearing that up. Too many names flying around in this thread.
  22. I get what your saying Tom we all need money to live, but you can make a decent living at many clubs without going to the rivals of your team. I would say Football is more emotive then moving between architects, and I would definitely feel more principled in regards to it if I were in that position. But from Fosters point of veiw went to the huns on loan so he probably didn't even make more money.
  23. Maybe it's just me but I always feel like anyone who claims to be an Aberdeen Fan then goes to Rangers has sold out. I mean you must have other options, and usually that would be staying at Aberdeen.
  24. There isnt any stand out candidates at the moment. Glass would be a totally uninspiring appointment and if it went badly there would be a lot of questions to answer. The quote Ive seen from Dave Cormack is: “The club now has the opportunity to appoint a new manager ahead of the new season where, with a number of players out of contract, we have work to do to build a competitive squad.” Which makes it sound as if we are holding off till the summer. If what Graham Hunter says is true and we know who we are going for it can only mean that we have to wait for them to become availiable otherwise we would get them in as soon as possible. I don't see the logic of holding off till the summer to bring Glass in as the MLS is played over the summer so hopefully that rules him out. But if Im correct that means its someone who already has a club.
  25. I agree. He won't have been told that but I feel like he's considering moving on anyway and that's why his hearts not in it. Wouldn't surprise me if there is a mutual agreement in the summer for us to part ways. He should be able to pick up another job at a reasonable level as over the years he has done a good job generally.
