  1. I would agree. The LC final was a complete failure all round. Clubs fault. Anyway, there is not much left to be said. IMO we have a fantastic support when encouraged and mobilised properly. But the club just don't want an atmosphere as it spoils a day out 'for families' .
  2. Oh, aye and yeah Garlogie Granite. How is the new stadium coming along? Ha ha ha ha ha
  3. I wasn't there was I? I wasn't there as in the 'same way that I am Margaret from Westhill' or 'Fred from No Kingsford' and also 'Not a Dons fan'?
  4. Its the set up that is all wrong and fails to produce a range of players. The U20 Development League and Youth Leagues are not fit for purpose. Even Womens' Leagues are more competitive and better organised. Until there is the re-introduction of reserve football or competitive B teams the players will struggle to develop into the footballers they need to be.
  5. No idea. But why the hell, in gods honest name insult people by putting a 'singing section' at the very very back of the West Stand? For the Scottish Cup Final? ? Who agreed to this - its kinda ultimate insult. Its so out of touch with 21st century football its mind boggling.
  6. Well yeah, its kinda of insulting. But as far as I am aware a singing section was requested for LCF - denied. And again requested for SCF - and they put it to the back of the West Stand?? Is this 'official' or 'unofficial' or just token shite as they want the Aberdeen bit to be a 'family day out' for all? You realise Celtic already have a massive singing area designated at the front of the East Stand. They already have an advantage on us?? - Who is actually making these silly decisions? - Who is announcing these things? - Who is communicating to supporters clubs? On Monday a supporters club asked for interest in tickets. Request made. Then 2 days later another announcement that there is a singing section? Just what are the club playing at? Who are DST? You realise shite like this happens time and time and time again? All over Europe there are cup finals - both sides tend to have supporters congregating down the front of the stand they will occupy and our club decides to 1: Make it up the very back of the West and 2: Not even organise or announce it properly. Its laughable in its incompetency, insulting, ridiculous and not 21st century. Ignorant, pathetic, stupid, out of touch and incompetent f-wits. And as for DST - you a shower of lame duck idiots.
  7. Well yeah, obviously. A cup final - biggest CF for decades and the club botch up an announcement about a 'singing section'? Not even been an announcement. Then word gets out after supporters clubs ask for interest and after the tickets go on sale that one will be at the VERY BACK of the West Stand as far away from the pitch as you can get. But clearly Aberdeen do need some sort of defined rabble rousing singing section of some sort since if you were at LCF there was supreme silence for 90 minutes. The club are seriously out of touch. Whoever this SLO is going to be or is in place they have botched up already if in place. A singing section at the very back of the west stand????? Its almost as if the club are embarrassed to see its fans offer support. And as for Dons Supporters Together - whoever you are - you accept shite like that? You go along with the club making stupid announcements about singing sections for the SCF at the back of the West Stand? Quite happy to organise phoney piss ups in the Shed when the real occasion should be inside Hampden down the front of the West Stand? WTF??? Its just preposterous.
  8. Got to highlight this as a means of highlighting how utterly incompetent and out of touch the people who run Aberdeen FC are with fans. In response to a demand/request for a singing section for Dons fans at the Cup final v Celtic (two days after putting tickets on sale) word has materialised that there is some sort of singing section at Hampden. Is it in the North Stand - already sold out - NO. Is it in the West Stand very front cheering on the team - NO Is it in the corner of the West / North Stands - NO Will the 'singing section' (sic) be at the very back of the West Stand the furthest possible location as far away from the action and the players as possible - YES. When you also look at the fact that this 'singing section' has never been communicated properly, no SLO in place yet and Celtic will have its biggest ever organised singing section at the front of the East Stand for the Cup final our club clearly has issues with its own fans. Pathetic.
  9. You mean Aberdeen 'Dying on its arse/sinking ship' Mad?
  10. They need to try something different in the final. The thought of Rooney playing a lonely furrow up front with little service and a total anon passenger in the game gives me nightmares about leaving at 3-0 down after 57 minutes again.
  11. Supposedly its all at an discussion stage i.e. talks with him. McGinn is off. I'd also like to see younger players given a chance but that is not going to happen at all under Derek McInnes the facts speak for themselves.
  12. There are numerous examples of players coming to Aberdeen and SPL after a big salary elsewhere. Barry Robson being one, Hartley another. For what its worth I agree with you and would say its hard for Aberdeen to put together a package to attract Maloney but he ain't getting a new deal in English premier league I'd doubt at 34. He is from Aberdeen and grew up in Aberdeen so its a different kettle fish. Maybe £3k a week is what he would be happy with rather than some dumb deal at Blackburn or Doncaster.
  13. Kenny Miller has already signed for Rangers again. Why anyone would doubt Miller is also incredible. If you watch him he is the best player they have. He is the captain, best player they have, scores goals and creates goals. Maloney is 34 and is on bench for Hull City in Premier League - so must be fit! We only offer £1k - £3k a week. They won't be breaking bank for him. It could all be crap anyway - they have been linked with him in the past.
  14. It could all be speculation and nothing in it. He is an experienced international and is not going to struggle for offers. 2000–2007 Celtic 104 2007–2008 Aston Villa 30 2008–2011 Celtic 54 2011–2015 Wigan Athletic 79 2015 Chicago Fire 14 2015– Hull City 28 For a guy who has been playing football since 2000 he has less than 300 career appearances. Clearly issues. As far as I'm aware (people who played with him at Albion Boys Club) he's a very quiet guy. Clearly top player, but what is alternatives?? Alternatives are Jeffrey Monakana or Josh Parker type daft waste of money signings. You can't turn down players like Maloney if they become available. Maybe he wants to be back in Aberdeen - for family reasons. He doesn't need the money - McGinn is defo leaving so they need a replacement of similar calibre.
  15. He is injury prone. Never played much after his first spell at Celtic. Must be something about his fitness or well being. But he is on bench for Hull City often enough so he must be fit. Doesn't matter - we need experience. Give him a 2 year deal with add ons. Take him on for the last 15 minutes of games to change things and put free kicks into the box. Brilliant at free kicks, very good at corners, very good at crossing.
  16. Absolutely terrible. Why on earth would McInnes be chasing a proven technically skilled international class footballer with 47 caps and 7 international goals??? Crazy. Why on earth chase a footballer who has won everything in Scotland and FA Cup. And who has proven Premiership experience, brilliant dead ball specialist and a great taker of corner kicks. Why sign a lad who is a native Aberdonian, went to school in Aberdeen, knows the club, knows the city? Why sign someone who can come on for last 15 mins in games and provide something different? Why sign a proven international - seems madness for the club to do this.
  17. mistake - quote thing. Rooney will be at Aberdeen for the rest of his career. Don't see him moving anywhere else. He needs help up front in certain games as he appears totally adrift in certain games. No contribution whatsoever. So its not criticism its just the nature of non contribution in many games. Unfortunately the days of 4-4-2 are gone and it means he wont have a partner up with him. That is concerning for the SC Final since he is unable to unsettle and bash about defenders (like Grant Holt) when its as clear as night as day what is required in the final is chance to unsettle Celtic defenders rather than leave Rooney alone up front.
  18. Rooney is a great striker to have - guaranteed goals. But basically half the time he is standing about not doing much especially v Celtic/Rangers. Found wanting in certain games and no contribution whatsoever. Not even successfully challenging for high balls and no chest control, lay off ala Lee Miller. Rather see two men up front, and next season something will have to change since McGinn will be gone. Not criticism of him, but its clear in some games he maybe needs to be a sub and something else done to help him rather than looking like a gooseberry - LCF v Celtic?
  19. Yeah, It is true that they (Hearts) have not got much money but neither most clubs aside from Old Firm due to having 40k season ticket holders each. We won't be spending transfer fees but can offer decent wages and Europa League football which they cannot. Supposedly Hearts spent £200k on pitch relaying couple weeks ago. Basically they have 8,000 fans putting in direct debits each month to the club of between whatever £10 a month up to some donators signing up for £1000's a month - Foundation of Hearts thing. That money is all guaranteed and secured by Budge who is a rich wifie and Chair. They have put in place a coaching model with Levein at the top and it all filtering down to Cathro but its a shambles as Cathro is completely out of his depth. He should be in charge of football operations (Levein role) and an experienced man should be in charge. The building work on the new stand is way ahead and on track but funding isn't and there is a bit of a panic due to a £1m shortfall. There is a hefty difference in finishing 5th and 2nd place. We get £2.4m and they (Hearts) will get 1.1m or something for finishing 5th. Just this week lots of initiatives have been muted to raise the shortfall. They will sell off part of the old stand (seats, bricks, chairs, benches, dressing room memorabilia etc) and try to raise money that way. They wanted to seel 16k season tickets but won't. I would doubt that they will sell out Tynecastle 20k every week. No chance. The 16k every week is a myth anyway - always gaps. I would guess they have a lot of problems on their radar Hearts - masses of problems behind scenes football wise. The structure was a good concept but its not working. Supposedly, Cathro has offered to resign a couple of times at meetings with the board but they are all 100% behind him. Its not Cathro's fault. He was a assistant coach and offered a 3rd deal to be the manager on big money. He'll get sacked soon and go back to coaching but whoever put him in charge needs shot. Not that I care - can't stand them as a club.
  20. Watched a stream of second half. Hearts never remotely looked like winning.
  21. 19,874 tickets for the cup final. There is a possibility of a further 1,344. The club messed up allocation of tickets for the LCF via the "1 client ref = 1 ticket fiasco" meant they failed to sell out. In addition, they made sure anyone that got one through a supporters club could not get one via website. This time it seems there are 2 tickets per client ref. Half of the people who went to final 2014 (lets face it) were one off fans. First time at a final. For Hampden you would hope 20,000 would be sold out fairly quickly. 700 more tickets is a petty fallacy since Hampden holds 51,800? If AFC get 21,000 and Celtic 20,300 that still leaves over 10,000 tickets on the market outside official allocations. Many of these will go to Celtic fans more probably.
  22. Presumably they can get Christie on a loan signing again. Id be staggered if the club pay transfer fees. Derek McInnes does not give young talent the opportunity. He will sign a few people and keep them on the bench (Storey being one) this excludes young talent when bringing on Ross, Wright would make sense even if its 10 minutes. McInnes could not be anymore transparent if he tried about young players at the club.
  23. I think what you'll find is that George Yule, Milne and co. know that its not looking good for the Kingsford project at this stage. Curiously its all gone quiet since 30th March and milestone of the meeting of Aberdeenshire Council. No amount of EE propaganda can push this through and at this moment its not fit for purpose. The fact that there is no transparency of documentation since 30th March should be a worry to those of you supporting this concept since AFC were meant to be proactively putting together a new transport plan to mitigate the tons and tons of concerns already raised. Where is it? The final vote announcement is just over a 7 weeks away? What are the clubs plans? The report in the P&J is a bit out of date. It pertains to the supposed alleged punch up supposedly organised between Dynamo Berlin / Aberdeen Casuals and Rangers ICF. If truth be told the punch up organised was in all probability an invented event made up by the police although the fact that a group of hooligans from Germany turned up in Aberdeen on day we played Rangers (hung about Castlegate and met up with ASC members) and they (Rangers) had buses of thugs not attending hanging about the harbour pubs means you have to acknowledge that neither side was hanging around in Aberdeen on that day to pick flowers in Hazelhead Park. The whole context has given No Kingsford ammunition - hooligans in Westhill! P&J latched onto it. None the less, if club are serious still about Kingsford where is the new transport plan? Its not looking good is it? As the current transport plan is as big a pile of dung.
