Does Rocket have to join in if he allows his missus to? I feel you are using this just to organise a humongous gang bang, anyone else and their missus up for it? Apply here. -
Aye Rocket, I went and looked it up after I had posted that, first recorded in 1939! By Lead Belly Leadbetter. ( No idea who he was ) but decent tune.

Only discovered this guy through Ballad Of Buster Scruggs, but already been impressed with a few of his songs ( Although I think this one is a cover? )

BigAl, I had the fear for the Semi against them, thankfully that was quashed, although I do feel them having no Morelos or Lafferty was the reason we progressed. Both will be available Wednesday night, Morelos will be the one to play, he needs special attention, as he is undeniably a terrific Striker, causes all sorts of problems. I think if we approach it the way we approached the Semi, we have a fighting chance, but now we're missing GMS, who gave Flanagan a torrid time in the Semi, so we're probably even less of a goal threat now. However, keep it tight, get the balance of defending and attacking correct, we can win. For me, it's the perfect game to take yesterdays frustrations out on, turn up, shut they cretins up and take 3 points home. For a mob that's a class above, they've failed to beat us on 2 occasions, albeit they'll still finish above us this season. Same team from yesterday, can't believe I am about to say this though, replace GMS with May, but keep Cosgrove up partnering May, keep at their defenders, as they like to play it between themselves, so don't let them, make them resort to long balls that hopefully should be meat and drink to our defenders. Heart says another 1-0 Dandy win, head says a comfortable defeat.

But he was providing Tyrant? He won headers and laid the ball off when it was played at his feet. That was our game plan, to aim long balls at him, set pieces at him, throw ins at him, he won the majority of them, but nobody was there to feed off it. And the odd time that there was, nobody was in the box for us. GMS's header ( before his horrendous injury ) was the only time it worked and we had bodies in the box, Cosgrove got us up the pitch, we win a throw in, from resulting throw in Logan puts in a good cross and we caused a problem. That is solely down to the manager and what he asked the players to do. I can absolutely guarantee you that had we played any of Wilson, May or Anderson with that same system and game plan, it would have been backs to the walls for the entire game, it would not have stuck as much as it did. But thanks to Cosgrove, he was bringing others into play and we were winning a corner here and a throw in there, that is where we were yesterday, that was our plan. Cosgrove contributed to it. Was he brilliant? Far from it, did he do his job? Yes. Ferguson, GMS & McGinn were responsible for feeding off that, but they were too focused on their defensive duties to take that gamble a lot of the time. Defensively we were solid, but we lacked creativity and spark middle to front because our midfielders were following Tim players around like flies to shite. I suppose that is why it worked defensively. Rocket, spot on, Shinnie switched off and allowed Christie the run in behind, you're the 1st person I have seen or heard acknowledge that, McKenna & Considine were blamed, it was a ball over the top of them, not sure what they were meant to do? Tyrant, again, need to reiterate, not having a personal go at you min, we all see games of football differently, for me, Cosgrove did his job, others didn't.
-
Fuck it, I'll stick my neck out yet again, and defend Cosgrove. He won 8 out of 10 headers and brought others in to play when it was played at his feet. He was isolated again, and how can he blamed when he is doing his job? It's not like he wasn't winning headers and was giving the ball away. He did his job, the Ferguson's and the Shinnie's didn't do theirs, yet no one is having a go at them Cosgrove is not the answer if we are to play 1 Striker, I know that, but he did his job yesterday, but appears many would rather we went with the utterly inept May Nobody should take that as a personal insult, I am just struggling to understand why Cosgrove is the fall guy when he didn't put a foot wrong.

Chris Forrester - Finished?
KennyFuckinPowers replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
He's not even playing for the reserves now. He was for a few weeks, but not been in their squads either. He is finished, I will be utterly astounded ( Literally ) if this guy makes another appearance for us. Mental and a stark reminder that McInnes spent cash on him. He's not even bothered his arse to try and repay it ( Forrester I mean ) -
Well, we battled well enough, but were done by a complete lack of creativity. Our only opportunity came from Simunovic hitting his own bar, thought the defence were pass marks, Lowe especially, but sadly he was too focused on the defending side, as was Logan, we never put enough balls into the box from them. Might get stick for this, but Shinnie & Ferguson were a let down, Ball was the best of the midfielders. Anyway, whilst he can't take blame for the defeat, Dallas was completely out of his depth and should be nowhere another final, he will do well to get another top flight game fuck sake. McInnes, you got it right defensively, just offered little to nothing middle to front, obviously GMS going off would have affected that, and I sincerely hope he is okay. Another final, another runners up medal, has to change one day against them, who I thought were made to look average. Bastards

The same Motherwell that recently pumped us 3-0, go to Livingston and lose 2-0, pushing us down to 7th, albeit with a game in hand.
-
Same applies to May, why people are advocating him to start is genuinely perplexing, even if we do go with 2 Strikers, he should be nowhere near the 11. If someone can name tangible advantages he brings over Cosgrove, Wilson & even Anderson, then I would genuinely like to hear them. I would be more inclined to bring him on if we are protecting a lead with 10-15 minutes to spare, but to suggest he starts, when he brings zero goal threat whatsoever, even less so than Cosgrove, is as I said, perplexing. Wilson, if his attitude is right, has better quality all round, Cosgrove is far better at holding the ball up and bringing others into play and Anderson appears to be the only one who backs himself to score if presented with the opportunity, May brings none of those.

Michael Stewart's answer, in part, when asked if " Aberdeen have any hope " of beating Celtic. "If Mikey Devlin is even remotely fit, he comes in, rather than Andrew Considine in central defence. Then Derek McInnes has got a question mark whether he plays Considine at left-back or stick with Max Lowe. My gut instinct is he would probably go with Considine's experience. "I would be astonished if he doesn't put Dominic Ball in as a defensive midfielder and move Lewis Ferguson further forward. Then you have a front three of McGinn, James Wilson and Mackay-Steven. That is the best chance Aberdeen have got." Ball in for one of our Strikers & Ferguson pushed up behind the front 3. 1 up front on there own, begs the question, who do we go for? If it's May I'll get all of your usernames tattooed on my arsecheek. However, I disagree with him regarding Considine/Lowe dilemma, it should be Lowe, he's more of a threat going forward, has more pace and for me, will cope with Forrest better than Considine would. Starting to get pumped for this one, after all, we did get beyond Hibs & Rangers, when many, myself included, never thought we would. I don't care how we do it, I just hope we fucking do it. I expect it to be similar to the Rangers game, in that we don't see a lot of the ball, but when we do, we absolutely need to make sure we are ruthless. COYFR

The Journalist replied to my question, Said that the Lewis thing " Maybe true " but would be " shocked " about the Shinnie one. Not really anything to go with there really, hope it is shite.

Mile 22, really disliked it, thought it was very poor to be honest. Ballad Of Buster Scruggs ( the Coen Brothers did this ) was pretty enjoyable as you'd expect.

Contradicted myself Rico I still maintain that McInnes wouldn't be brave enough to start Anderson. Realistically, as it stands, if a good opportunity falls to any of our Strikers, May is the last one I'd want it to fall too, Cosgrove a close Second behind him, but even then, his distribution with the ball at feet and aerially, is superior to May at the moment, and Wilson, what is going on there? He clearly has ability, but seems uninterested in sharing it with us. That leaves Anderson, who scored another brace today for the reserves, who I'd be confident would at least make the Keeper work. Is the lad physically ready? Probably not, yet. However, will he chase every ball, harry defenders and have the belief in himself that he will score if presented with that chance, I would say yes, and for me, that would be enough to give him the nod ahead of May, Wilson & Cosgrove. All it took against Rangers was one chance, and he buried it, same as the goal vs Killie a few weeks back, instinctive finish and hauled us back into the game. Pissing against the wind though, we all know it won't be Anderson, rightly or wrongly, but it should absolutely not be Stevie Fucking May. I don't have a personal agenda against the guy, I am just sick fed up of a wasted shirt most weeks, knowing that he himself doesn't back himself to score and really offer very little other than the odd gut burst and pass back to a midfielder. I am just growing increasingly frustrated with our lack of prowess and at the moment, the youngster is the only one I would trust in front of goal, very sad state of affairs. Anyway, to contradict myself further, get Cosgrove as the lone striker and get GMS playing off him, in the 10 role, feeding off whatever Cosgrove wins, get Lowe & Logan as Wing Backs and keep it 3 CM's and 3 CB's , make it hard for Celtic to play through us. Lewis Ball McKenna Considine Logan Lowe McGinn Ferguson Shinnie GMS Cosgrove That is what I would like to see, I think that could cause problems as well as be compact enough to make life difficult for Celtic. It also allows us to revert easily back into a 4-2-3-1 if the need arises.

Swap the inept May for the less inept McGinn and you're onto something there. However, there is absolutely no way that McInnes will play Anderson from the start, there is literally zero chance of it happening, barring a bizarre set of injuries from now until the game. I have advocated for Anderson to start, earlier in the season, however, is he ready to lead the line in a game as important as this Cup Final? Should he not have started ahead of May and even Wilson before this game to see how he fairs? Fuck knows, but I do know that our manager will never, ever, risk playing Anderson from the start in this game, he doesn't have the bottle to make a call like that.

Motherwell vs Aberdeen
KennyFuckinPowers replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Highlights if anyone is Interested. Defending atrocious at all 3 goals. Lowe looked to be a positive, all our chances pretty much came from him? But we're in for a long day on Sunday if that Aberdeen turn up, fucking mental. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/av/scotland/46336388 -
Probably in a minority here, but I would keep Cosgrove ahead of Stevie May every day of the week. May has had more than enough opportunities, sound like a broken record but I am stating fact, he's useless and a half decent showing against Hibs won't change that. Cosgrove is absolutely raw, but that can be worked on, he's certainly not the short term answer, James Wilson was meant to be that, and that sadly looks like a fuck up. Get Cosgrove out on loan where he'll play week in week out and cut our losses with Stevie May. Feel it's a bit harsh on Hoban, he looked decent enough before his injury, if we can get the 2nd half of the season out of him, then it'll be worth it. Reynolds, well it feels like he doesn't play for us anymore anyway, would he be a useful back up? Or is Considine the new Reynolds in that regard? Gleeson & Forrester, well something clearly not right there, what I will say on Gleeson is, he didn't do much wrong when he played ( Poor pass back against St Mirren aside ) and overall looked tidy enough. I think Shinnie has been pretty poor the majority of the season, with the odd game reminding us he's still an asset, you would think that would allow more opportunities for Gleeson, but he's not even getting off the bench. Forrester, well fucked if I know what the situation is there, a bizarre set of circumstances, we paid money for him, he was likened to Michael Carrick, McInnes said he's been aware of him for some time and he really liked him, yet, he's been a ghost, not even making the bench now and been left out the last couple of reserve teams after playing for them for several weeks, perplexing. I feel Tansey will be given another opportunity " like a new signing " comes to mind there.

I saw it on Twitter TC, the guy I mentioned about asking is 9/10 on the ball with this stuff, so I'll get onto it and see if he replies. We have offered Shinnie & GMS a new contract as well, not sure if anyone has posted about that on here, so that'll be interesting to see if that pans out.

Social Media Klaxon! Rumours abound that Leeds Utd want both Joe Lewis & Graeme Shinnie. Will try and find out from that Alan Nixon Journo, he's usually on the money with these.

Motherwell vs Aberdeen
KennyFuckinPowers replied to KennyFuckinPowers's topic in Aberdeen Football Club
Could very well be the case. I have a feeling we'll play a 5-3-2/3-5-2 depending on whether we're in possession etc.. Logan & Lowe as Wing Backs & GMS playing off the main striker whoever that may be. Ferguson Shinnie & McGinn as the 3 central players, Ball Considine & McKenna at the back, if Devlin doesn't make it. Lewis Ball McKenna Considine Logan Lowe McGinn Ferguson Shinnie GMS Cosgrove Just a sneaky feeling. -
Motherwell vs Aberdeen

DeeDon, if he thinks he's too good for our game, he needs to take a long good hard look at his level of performance. I think it's leaning more towards the fact he realises his time is up at Man U and this is more the level he'll be playing at, perhaps its a rude awakening for the lad & its made him really unhappy? Devlin is an absolute must, we have looked relatively solid with him & McKenna, but I fear our sheer lack of imagination and creativity at the top end of the pitch will render his return useless in the end. The dilemma up front is very concerning, as it stands, May, Wilson & Cosgrove are not good enough, it's as simple as that. Wilson has shown flashes of brilliance, which could win us a game I suppose, but he hasn't done enough and if he looks disinterested, he should not be starting. Cosgrove is a handful, he links the play well and brings that aerial threat, but for me, lacks that goal threat we really need. May is sadly unable to play as a lone striker and he is completely useless in front of goal., I would actually put May as the worse of our attacking options & a decent performance against Hibs won't change that. Young Bruce Anderson may not be at the level required to lead the line in a Cup Final, but at the end of the day, he cannot be any worse than any of the other lads, such a sad state of affairs. January is massive in terms of recruitment at the top end of the pitch.
