  1. Unusual for me to enjoy something as recent as this, but fairly enjoyed it.
  2. I enjoyed it also, but haven't seen the competition it was up against, so can't comment on Oscars. Viggo Mortensen is a joy to watch though, if you haven't seen The Indian Runner, I highly recommend it, he's absolutely brilliant in that.
  3. Did Mcinnes say that Lowe is definitely out for tomorrow? Sure I saw something on Social Media about it. If so, it might be a blessing in disguise purely because it means a back 4 surely ( Halford Devlin McKenna Considine ) Also, I know Halford isn't match fit, but I have a sneaky feeling Ball will be a CDM tomorrow. I'd rather Lowe was playing, but have a feeling he'd go with the back 3 and push Lowe up to combat Tavernier, as he did in the recent 4-2 defeat to them, if he was fit. We look a more composed team with a back 4. Anyway, I am not as hopeful as some of you seem to be, I don't think we'll get pumped in the same fashion as Killie, Hamilton & Dundee did, but I think we will lose all the same. Aberdeen 1 vs 2 Rangers ( Cosgrove )
  4. Hamilton have lost 5 of their previous away games without scoring a single goal in said games, come up to Pittodrie and look fairly comfortable, score a couple of decent goals, keep a clean sheet and head down the road with the 3 points. Cosgrove was really isolated last night, those were the type of situations he had to deal with earlier in the season when every man and their dog was writing him off, what in the actual fuck is he supposed to do when the manager instructs us to punt aimless balls up to him for the vast majority of the 90 minutes? Shinnie, yet again, follows a great overall performance at the weekend up with a timid anonymous display, didn't even notice Ferguson was playing to be brutally honest, and not for the first time this season. Agree with the sentiments regarding our defenders, abysmal to a man last night, looked like the first time they had ever played together. Bring back Tommie Hoban! McGinn & Stewart tried to make things happen, but McGinn's distribution was pretty shocking ( barring one or two decent balls he put in the box from open play ) and Stewart, clearly a good player, we all saw that at Dundee, and under Clarke at Killie, but that's when he played in that free role off the Striker, we persist in playing him out wide and we are clearly not getting the most out of him there, that lies squarely at the manager, play him off Cosgrove and stop fucking about. Imagine where we would be had we not had that good spell in December, results wise! Appears they we papering over evident cracks.
  5. Considine & McKenna had some really good games together in December, there was 1 or 2 shaky and poor games in there too, but on the whole, they played well together and were very solid. Considine takes a lot of unwarranted stick from a fair amount of supporters, I get that he has limitations, but at the end of the day, he's a big Centre Back that's been asked to play Left Back and he's had to adapt his game numerous times, I think he's matured into a pretty decent player who would probably be a 1st choice Centre Back at every other club in Scotland, with the exception of the Huns and Tims ( Hope that isn't too sectarian for the sensitive souls ) his determination to be fitter, faster and more composed is evident every season that passes and he's a decent goal threat too.
  6. The Eagles - New Kid In Town
  7. Good 3 points, with the added bonus of Killie losing at Livingston, good afternoon's work, gives us breathing space over them now.
  8. Tried 5 streams and not one is working. Even RedTV Commentary is very intermittent. BBC Sport Scotland it is then Oh, and 1-0 Aberdeen, Shinnie
  9. Shay likely to miss the remainder of the season with an operation, and McInnes is looking to bring in an out of contract RB to fill the position. Anyone know of any decent free RB's? Could always go with Ball there for the rest of the season, but I don't think that'll sit too well with the vast majority.
  10. He was indeed Rocket, and apparently their 2nd was a great bit of play involving 1-2's etc...and Wright was at the heart of it. He is certainly enjoying himself there, scoring a few and creating a few, BBC Sport said he was up front with Craig Curran, or paying off Curran, in any case, they said he was central and not out wide, I am happy for him and I hope he comes back a better, more confident player that can contribute on a consistent basis for Aberdeen.
  11. He'll stick Ball at RB, I have zero doubt about that, although that doesn't mean I am right ( adding that to save face in case he doesn't play him ) Not sure what to expect, St Johnstone must have a pretty good record against us, they are usually tight, boring affairs with the odd exception, but the likelihood is that it will be another tight borefest, but if we come away with 3 points, we won't really care. My predictions have been well wide of the mark recently, in where I have predicted a comfortable win for us and it simply hasn't happened, so I will avoid a scoreline, but I think it might be a draw. Hope I am wrong obviously.
  12. Firstly, that was difficult to watch regarding Hoban, he was breaking his heart, perhaps an admission to himself that he might actually need to give the game up? Obviously I hope not, but it's clearly a very serious injury. Wish him all the best. On to the game, well, where do you start? Too many not turning up again, it's like they do have this mentality that the lesser the opponent, the lesser the effort and intent required. The last batch of home games have been very underwhelming, and despite a strong scoreline against QOTS, that performance itself was fucking rotten up until a certain point in the 2nd half. McGinn changed the QOTS game, today he was the polar opposite, GMS was the GMS we've had since the speculation came about regarding his future, Shinnie, well that was up there with his most anonymous performance since he joined us and overall, the amount of mistakes and misplaced passes from the entire midfield today were amateurish. Cosgrove was literally honking, even before he started scoring for us, his performances were nowhere as bad as people would have you believe, but today, he looked like a player we signed from the dregs of English Football, Devlin was rusty but that was to be expected, Paul McGinn was coping with Lowe pretty easily too. There wasn't really a pass mark today, and to draw 2-2 at home with the bottom of the league whipping boys is inexcusable, so many poor individuals today and McInnes needs to be braver and drop certain players, it's becoming a bit boring. Greg Stewart was really a standout player for Kilmarnock and in the league in general, we need to play him behind Cosgrove and keep him away for the wider areas, he's already failed there for us in his first spell, not saying he's failing now, but we're not getting the most out of him when he's out wide. I'm not a manager, so fuck knows, but I'd hate to think where we'd be had it not been for a decent December, results wise. Away to St Johnstone up next, and you wouldn't put it passed them to win comfortably, as TC states, 3 points really is imperative.
  13. Not at all Elgin min, he's a Dandy, I want him to succeed, I'd be delighted if he contributed a brace on Saturday
  14. Gone Baby Gone. It's a few years old, but I thought it was tremendous & highly recommend it.
  15. We have pretty much schooled St Mirren this season, and there's literally no reason why that won't happen again. Fancy Cosgrove to continue his streak, will be absolutely disgusted if Hoban is dropped, I appreciate Devlin is back now and I understand his importance, but there's absolutely no chance that Hoban deserves to be dropped, personally I think it'll be as you were vs QOTS, although I am hoping May gets ditched for either Wilson, McGinn or McLennan. Plump for 3-0 Dandies ( Cosgrove, Considine, GMS )
  16. If you took his goals out of the equation, you'd be hard pushed to remember a game where he actually played well for the majority of the 90 minutes. I think he's slow, takes too long in possession, gives away ridiculous fouls, misplaces passes and offers little creativity. What he does do well though, is get in peoples faces and he's somewhat of an aerial threat. He will become a very good player, I have no doubt about that, he's just very much like Cosgrove was initially, in where he's rough around the edges. If you honestly removed the goals he's scored, nobody would be talking about him, but he did score them, so I applaud him for that. I do think McInnes has overused him though, if that makes sense. There have been times when the boy was breathing out of his arse and could barely get around the pitch, you're saying to yourself, time for Ball or Gleeson to replace him, but never happens, then there was the December fixtures, ample opportunities to bench him, but again, never happened. I think he'll blossom into a solid Central Midfielder, he's only 19, I am not having a personal dig at him ( before anyone pipes in that I am ) I am just saying what I see.
  17. Hoban doesn't deserve to be dropped when Devlin is fully fit and McKenna serves his suspension. A proper dilemma for the manager, unless he goes to a 3 at the back, which from memory, hasn't served us too well. The man is clearly a talent. Could argue that Logan might get dropped at Hoban could go to RB, maybe give Shay the kick up the arse he's needing, as he's certainly regressing on the pitch, but he's still a good RB, just needs to rediscover his consistency.
  18. We're into the next round, that's a positive. QOTS were well organised, and add to that, our lethargy and lack of intent made it look relatively comfortable for them up until we scored. Absolutely the right call to replace May and bring on McGinn, Stevie May has not delivered, it's that simple, he offers nothing apart from energy, perhaps needs to be accepted now. Anyway, McGinn getting a lot of plaudits, and rightly so, but for me, Tommie Hoban was the MOTM, he defended well, oozes composure and clearly has class, and he even drove forward a number of times trying to instigate something, he was head and shoulders above everyone else today. Stephen Dobbie deserves a mention, that was an amazing strike, he wasn't in the game at all, but that was a moment of sheer class. Also, I thought it was a stonewall penalty, he moves his arms into an unnatural position and yes, it hits his ribs first, but then comes off his arm, clear penalty. Some might disagree, and certainly the " Pundits " disagree. Hope the draw is kind to us, because after Stenhousemuir and then for large parts today, a better team would have punished us more, very unlike us those performances.
  19. Having seen an image of Lindsey Buckingham ( former Fleetwood Mac vocalist & criminally underrated Guitarist ) on Social Media, of him looking pretty bad after emergency open heart surgery, went back to some of his stuff, not the strongest vocalist, but writes a good song and his Guitar skills are unreal. Really hope he fully recovers, but he lost his Father and Brother to Heart troubles, aged 56 and 46 respectively.
  20. Would like to see a Wilson/Cosgrove partnership personally, although I don't expect McInnes to change too much, perhaps see Devlin start, and Ball or Gleeson in for Ferguson, prefer Gleeson if I am honest ( Not that it'll come as a surprise ) Lewis, Logan, Devlin, Hoban, Lowe, GMS, McGinn, Gleeson, Shinnie, Wilson, Cosgrove QOTS have won 4 games in their last 11, a good few draws in there too, so I assume Naysmith has them organised and obviously they're a threat with Dobbie up front, but I would expect whichever defenders start for us to be able to cope with him. I am going for a comfortable 4-0 Aberdeen win. ( Wilson x 2, Cosgrove, GMS )
  21. Too late for that TC, it has been blindingly obvious since the first game of the season. Look at the decisions this season so far, from Morelos, McGregor & Gerrard himself ( When he said that refs have been against Rangers for years ) all rescinded or no punishment forthcoming, yet Steve Clarke got fined ( I think ) for having a pop at refs after one of the most ludicrous reds you'll see ( Dicker ) which STILL went ahead despite clear video evidence to suggest it wasn't even a yellow, then the whole Devlin red card vs Killie and there are several more I can't mind of the top of my head involving various clubs, they have got off with everything they should not have gotten off with. Anyway, I noticed we have now conceded 4 to both Celtic & Rangers in our most recent fixtures with them, did we adopt a similar formation against Celtic at Home in the 4-3 game? I genuinely cannot remember. I don't think either of them are that good in all honesty, and we've shipped 8 goals in the last 2 meetings, I think in the opening stages tonight we misplaced 2-3 passes under no pressure whatsoever ( Stewart at a throw in & then Logan a minute later ) I think the defenders were nervous tonight, as shown in their performances, Hoban aside, thought he was as good as he was vs Hibs, think it would be rather unfortunate if he was dropped all of a sudden, but then again, Devlin has looked absolutely solid when he's played too, tricky situation that. Hoban/McKenna, Devlin/McKenna or Hoban/Devlin?
  22. Really disappointing to lose the game, naturally. I think that 1st half was a bit bizarre, we seemed okay up top, and pretty erratic at the back. I understood why he played Lowe wide left, to combat Tavernier getting forward, as well as carry a threat himself. Shinnie was absolutely immense, seriously good, he was good against Hibs too, but this was a level up performance wise, if we saw that every week, he'd have been away a window or two ago. Stewart started slowly but ended up having a very good game as well, just some of the final balls let one or two down tonight. Also, our set pieces were a bit of a miss, we're usually strong from them, but the crosses were poor tonight. McGregor should have been sent off, disgusting cunt of a creature, Madden saw it as well. Can't believe some feel that McKenna's red was harsh, was a red all day long. He had a nightmare this evening. Disappointed to concede 4 goals at home, and now we are obviously 5 points behind 2nd, but we clawed back a tremendous amount of points in December, we can do it again.
  23. I have a sneaky suspicion that McKenna will be fit for this one, think it may be too soon for Devlin but think he'll be available for QOTS. Hopefully GMS continues the form he showed at Hibs, was much more like him. Not really sure what to expect from Der Hun, they're trying to fit Morelos and Defoe into the same 11, so that means a change in formation, which apparently they haven't looked too good in ( I have Hun friends who made that statement ) Lewis Logan Hoban McKenna Lowe Ferguson Shinnie May Stewart GMS Cosgrove Although, I wouldn't have a problem at all with Wilson replacing May, Wilson was excellent on Saturday, made a few chances for himself and generally looked quick & linked the play well. It's either going to go one of two ways, we'll either sit back and hit them on the Counter, which has worked when playing them so far, and we'll sneak it 1-0, or they will trounce us, I actually had a dream the other night there that they were 4-0 up at HT! More of a nightmare than a dream, but seriously, we are more than capable of winning, I just hope we do it in style, but I'd naturally take a total bore-fest 1-0 to the Good Guys.
  24. Cerny has always been a decent keeper, he is capable if Joe doesn't make it, but obviously I'd rather he did. I forgot to say today, you wouldn't think Hoban was out as long as he was would you? Thought he was absolutely solid today, very calm & composed and read the game very well.
  25. Good 3 points, thought we were pretty good in the first half, just some poor decision making in the final 3rd prevented another goal. Wilson had 2 good opportunities and GMS missed a penalty, so it could have been a lot more comfortable than it was, but it's the same 3 points. Hope Cosgrove & Lewis make Wednesday night.
