Exact same formation and 11 for me. That would be enough to see us into the final I feel, if all 11 turn up on the day & our manager has put a rocket up their arses.

Unfortunately DD, where I come from, I am the minority in being a Dandy, I only know of a handful of fellow Aberdeen supporters here. 90% of my mates are Huns/Tims and I have the odd Kilmarnock, Dundee United and Ayr United fan. It's a fucking horrific experience whenever we play either of the Cheeks, let me tell you.

Obviously as the dust has settled after a very disappointing result on Saturday, starting to feel a bit better about our chances. I watched them last night on BT Sport, and took away a few things from it. Firstly, Morelos will be a huge miss for them, as much of a petty cunt as he is, he's a handful and a threat & seems to be pretty good at holding the ball up etc...whilst being a goal threat. Pretty big plus for us that he's missing. Also, Tavernier was kept very quiet and had little to no impact for them. I don't remember him getting his customary number of crosses in from wide right, something they score goals from domestically, obviously their coach worked on that. Goldson, judging by the highlights against Hamilton there and from watching him last night, this guy is a shitebag, he doesn't do too well when he's been ran at, he panics and for me, looks prone to errors if we can get at him. They've been raving about him, but from what I have seen, he's been less than impressive, Spartak offered nothing up front in the 1st half, but upped their game in the 2nd and he looked like their weak link to me. Lastly, the 2 on loan from Liverpool, Ejaria & Kent, look pretty decent it has to be said, Kent appears to be their main threat now, I thought it was Tavernier, and whilst he'll still need watched, Kent is naturally more of an attacker and they might play him up front instead of that Sadiq, although my Hun mate reckons it'll be Grezda, whoever the fuck that is. Anyway, slightly more confident but I still think it depends on how McInnes approaches this, if we are positive from the outset, I think we'll win in 90 minutes. If it's a back to the walls job and we offer the square root of fuck all in the final 3rd, much like the Hibs Cup Game, we will get comfortably beaten.

It was tongue in cheeks gents ( or ladies ) and a slight dig at McInnes. My point was if you look at the line up and subsequent performances in those games, they were both positive and show we are probably still capable of playing good stuff if our manager stopped being a negative shitebag. Hard to believe we're only 9 games in, haven't even played everyone once yet, and that's usually where I judge us to get a feel of things, but this has been pretty awful stuff to date and if even the most blinkered fan is honest with themselves, it shows no signs of improving. This is a chance for us to restart this season, a positive result and into a final, despite a piss poor start to the season, should fire a rocket up everyone's arse and kick start our season. Also, everyone keeps forgetting our very own version of Sergio Busquets, Casimero, Andrea Pirlo, Radja Nainggolan etc... is due back to the squad.....Greg Tansey! He's our saviour this season, ANY team would miss him.
-
We are still free flowing Kiriakov, just not against certain teams, the 2 performances against St Mirren was the Dons I remember in McInnes' first few seasons, there's a number of reasons why it's not the case now, mainly Jonny Hayes, no full back looked forward to a 90 minutes against him and we miss him terribly. The other reason is, Hearts, Hibs & Rangers are back now and stronger, he's too afraid to go toe to toe with them, we have evidenced that now, on several occasions, he is basically admitting it by his tactics. Also, see if you were a neutral watching Scottish Football this season for the first time, would you think that Aberdeen were the 2nd best team in the division for several years? No, you wouldn't.
-
Len, I do believe we can beat them, They're not that good, but at this moment in time, they are better than us. Our players follow instructions from our manager, Saturdays first half was down to him, in the opening 10 minutes, we conceded 3 corners and could not get out of our half, because we had no out ball, aimless punts to Cosgrove, and Wilson in the 2nd half, clearly didn't work, that was our game plan, the evidence of that is there and plain to see. As ever with McInnes, we will get a general idea of how we're approaching this game as early as 10 minutes. He will approach it the exact same way we approached the Hibs cup game, only this time it won't be enough, we need to be positive, Hamilton created plenty of chances as I seen in the highlights, we are better than Hamilton & are more than capable of creating more chances than Hamilton. Tavernier is their main threat, he creates lots of their goals, we need to nullify him, the only way to do that is make sure GMS is attacking and driving at him, and covering when he needs too, but I think Lowe will handle him defensively when the need arrives. Rico, I think Ferguson is a combative type, he can play as well, I actually feel him & Shinnie would compliment each other well, it allows us to bring in Wright in the role that Ferguson normally plays, which I think would be more productive for us offensively. Mickel Miller of Hamilton ran directly at Goldson & Katic several times and they simply couldn't cope, Wright could do the same for us, but his end product need to be more consistent.
-
Let's fucking hope so, can't be arsed listening to more of the " Some fans wants us to lose " pish, there's a fine line between being optimistic given our form, and realism, given our form. I do think we can win, but it requires McInnes getting the players up for it & playing a positive formation whilst not trying to be a tactical genius. I honestly believe he played for Penalties against Hibs, an absolutely enormous gamble & one a club like ours should not be doing, but that is my opinion. Talking starting line-up, I'd make an adjustment or 2. Lewis Logan Devlin McKenna Lowe Ferguson Shinnie McGinn Wright GMS Wilson I think McGinn did enough in his 45 minutes against Hearts there to merit a place back in the 11, we need him in that form, we need GMS to involve himself more, young Ferguson won't have another stinker like that, he's combative, so stick him in beside Shinnie & I'd plump for Lowe ahead of Considine again, purely for his ability to get up and down the pitch, plus a lot of their goals come from Tavernier and his deliveries, we need to nip that in the bud as early as possible. Wilson is clearly a better footballer than Cosgrove, if we play to our capabilities, we should not need to send aimless punts up the park, hopefully we get it in and around Wilson so he can impact the game and involve our attacking midfielders. If it's not working, then we can always resort to Cosgrove coming on & hope for the best.

Almost certain it was Godinho that fouled him, and he was on a Yellow already, ref shat it, naturally.
-
He appears to be a game of two halves of late, if that makes sense. He often is invisisble one half, then more like himself in the other. Yesterday was a prime example, in the 1st half, he was literally anonymous, Ball, for as gash as he was also, could have been mistaken for our captain in the sense that he was furious with himself and his teammates and was showing it, whereas Shinnie was too busy taking the huff at the ref's decision making. 2nd half though, he was much better, he was getting stuck in, driving with the ball and more vocal and noticeable, that's what I would expect of a captain. Absolutely agree with Rocket here, it's another example of the manager failing a player. Shinnie is clearly a talent, but we need a consistent 90 minutes from him each week, otherwise he should not be exempt from criticism, even the Hibs cup game more recently, he was largely anonymous for the 90 minutes, but in extra time he was brilliant. Really hoping he does sign a new contract, but wouldn't be surprised if he left for England, I am sure there will be suitors.

I have been trying to make this point for several months now, also include Dundee United in this, they were also similar to us before any of the above mentioned teams got relegated/liquidated etc... We have had a head start if that makes sense, to build a squad capable of withholding Hibs, Hearts and to an extent, Rangers, overtaking us when they inevitably came back in the Premier League, but this season, their squads probably look better on paper and evidently better on the pitch, McInnes knows this, this is the important thing here, just look at how we set up away to Hibs, away to Hearts yesterday and even the first home game of the season against Rangers, for an accomplished 2nd best team in the league, we should be going there confidently, without fear and negativity, ad playing to our strengths, and at home, regardless of opposition, we should be trying to control the game. How many points have we taken off Rangers & Celtic in comparison to say Kilmarnock, Hibs, hearts as well, not one of those teams go to Ibrox or Parkhead and camp inside their own half, they give as good as they get, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but I am fairly certain they all have taken more points off them. Now when they face them at home, again, they will have taken more points off them than we have. Players will see a manager work on the training pitch all week leading up to a game, they will immediately know how we're going to set up, that in itself must get inside their heads.

New Halloween movie, as a massive fan of the majority of the Halloween movies, I am perhaps being biased in giving it a 6-7 out of 10. They got a lot right, but also left a lot to be desired. More gory than we're used too, that's for certain, but not even remotely scary and some of the acting was poor. Worth a watch though for definite.
-
We got better because we played football in the 2nd half, we didn't even try in the 1st. We punted aimless balls to a lone striker with nobody to run on to any that he won, nobody looked comfortable in the first half and they all looked like they din't want the ball, the defenders and especially the midfield, were the main culprits, not Cosgrove.
-
Our manager sets us up that way though Len, so can't expect the players to be fearless. Guarantee you next week we will be camped in our own half punting aimless balls up front and praying for a penalty shoot out. If it works then hooray, if it doesn't, then what?
-
Fair question, and one I'd like to try and answer, everybody thought we were 4-4-2 when they seen the 11, but McInnes isn't brave enough for that, I was absolutely certain that Wilson would be wide left and I was right, a bizarre move from McInnes when there are 2-3 natural wingers on the bench, but I was intrigued to see how it panned out, unfortunately it amounted to nothing. Cosgrove was the correct striker to start with, but for anyone to point a finger at him today is sheer lunacy, he got absolutely zero service, every aimless ball we punted to him was nowhere near him, it's that simple, what is he supposed to do? Wilson was the exact same in the 2nd half until he was subbed, he couldn't hold the ball up nor did he get any service. Every single player in the first 45 was atrocious. Shinnie and Ball let the game bypass them, they were invisible, they never won anything in the middle of the park and their passing was amateur. Nobody wants to point a finger at Shinnie though That's not the first game in where that has been the case. Devlin was utterly shite as well, Considine was like the Considine of old, in that he can't be trusted. Logan was useless and Lowe tried, but nothing came off for him. Lewis Ferguson also played his worst 90 minutes for us to date. 2nd half was a bit better, because we started with more positive players in the sense that they turn and run at defenders ( McGinn & Wright ) and McGinn, for all that I feel that he's certainly not as good as he was, was positive, he tested their keeper early in the 2nd half, won the penalty, put a few crosses into the box ( That Cosgrove should have been on the pitch for ) Wright also had a few decent runs at them but his end product was very poor. Our first half showing was very predictable of our manager, it backfired, and not for the first time. Once we tried to play in the 2nd half, we were the better team, although they missed another Penalty and Lewis saved well from Djoum adding another. We were more positive and had we approached the game like that from the off, we may well have been victorious, who knows, but at least we'd have commended the manager, like most of us did at Parkhead, when we were actually well in that game. Lastly, and perhaps not surprising to some, but for him to bring on Stevie May, when we are chasing a goal, is fucking ludicrous. The majority have accepted that May has been a total flop, I would fancy Darren Mackie to score more than him in this team, and that's saying something. I obviously still hope he comes good, and perhaps played in a 2 up front he would? But until then, he should be nowhere near the team, not in a game like this and especially not when we're casing a goal. That's just piss poor management, desperate even. I said at the start of last season we may need a new manager to freshen our squad up & get more from this group of players, and I have been consistent this season in saying so also, I don't think he should be sacked, but he should know when it's time to walk away and perhaps when we finish so poorly this season in the league, because we will, whether some want to admit it or not, Hibernian are stronger, Hearts are stronger, Rangers are stronger & I would argue that whilst not on paper, but certainly on the pitch, Kilmarnock appear stronger. Fuck sake even Livingston are 6 points ahead of us, the vast majority will turn on him, as there are still some that are perhaps slightly blinkered by the manager, maybe he does deserve another transfer window, I don't know What I will say though, is that if we do get horsed against them in the Semi next week, the knives will be out from all sections of the support.
-
Slightly better 2nd half, but overall, really disappointing. No idea as to what the game plan was in the 1st half, camp everyone inside our own half perhaps? McGinn was at least positive when he came on, but can't fathom why you'd bring on Stevie May when you're chasing a goal. Too many didn't turn up again, and McInnes' game tactics leaving a lot to be desired yet again. I am sticking to my guns that we will struggle to finish a European spot this season. Which considering everything that has happened since McInnes came in, is rather unacceptable, we've had years to push ahead of Hearts, Hibs and to an extent Rangers in terms of a squad, we've failed. Now that they're all back and getting stronger, we're regressing & mentally, McInnes is of the same opinion.
-
Logan, you silly, silly cunt, that was blatant, he can argue all he wants. :hammer: Well done Joe! Still in it, COME ON TO FUCK!!!
-
That was a good chance there for Wilson, and he skelped wide Hasn't worked for him today, and he's now been replaced by the deadly May ( Please shut me up Stevie, please! )
-
Naismith is an embarrassment, he's spent most of that half looking for those to go for him, and it's worked. I'd take an embarrassment like that in our team ( Not him obviously, he's a horrible wee wanker ) Painfully shocking stuff again from McInnes, he has us set up this way, we look utterly toothless up front, to be fair though, games been spent in our half. Game is already finished, even at HT, knew Wilson would be wide left, it's not worked, get McLennan on for Ferguson, and go to a flat 4-4-2, Ball & Shinnie in the middle, GMS wide left and McLennan wide right.
-
Cheers Hendo, working a treat. On a more serious note, Hearts utterly bossing us, it's fucking cringeworthy to see. They are also, at every opportunity, going to ground and giving Clancy dogs abuse, looking to get in to the ref's mind obviously. Pathetic pricks.

Every stream I have found has just froze immediately, looks to be all Hearts in the opening 8 minutes though, can't get out of our own half. https://www.vipbox.live/hearts-vs-aberdeen-1-live

I was happy enough when we signed him, I thought he would be a very useful squad player. To be fair, the only time I ever saw him was when we played them and he always looked decent enough. But can't deny it's been a disaster, what sort of Injury has he had that's kept him out for this long? Or was he just told to work hard behind the scenes? Valid points, but if we have went and spent around 200k on Forrester, for him to be ousted by someone who has had such an underwhelming career at Aberdeen in Tansey, would be incredible.
-
P.S If anyone finds a stream, can you please share it, I will share if I find one.
-
Wilson will be wide left, guarantee it. As long as he's still effective out there, which I am sure he will be, then it doesn't really matter, he'll have free roaming I'd imagine. Also, if Forrester isn't injured, then questions need to be asked of him. According to a few on social media, who were at the reserve game a few days ago, Forrester allegedly looked completely disinterested, whereas, Gleeson was the opposite. Imagine if Tansey came back into the squad and replaced Forrester, that would be fucking incredible.
