With a fair amount of bodies back, be interesting to see what 11 we go with. I think Cosgrove has to start, purely because of the physicality of Hearts, Cosgrove will give as good as he gets, plus it's important we hold on to the ball up the top end of the pitch, he's probably the best Striker we have for that. I will be utterly furious if May starts ahead of him, or even Wilson. Regarding Wright, he played in the Pawlett role against St Mirren when we blew them away in the Cup game, he seemed to embrace it and they struggled with his directness and pace, lets see how he fairs in there after a few games, but the question is, will McInnes give him a run of games in there, highly unlikely, and to be fair, young Ferguson has been a positive & wouldn't deserve to be dropped. Actually feeling more confident, we can't afford to lose today, period, and a draw doesn't do us much good depending on results elsewhere. Changing my prediction now, ging for a 2-0 Away win ( Cosgrove, Logan ) COYR

Ten Caat, McLennan is in the squad for Saturday. For me personally, he starts ahead of McGinn, highly unlikely, but if I was in charge, he'd start.

Mystery Road, Australian spin off TV mini-series from Ivan Sen's movie Mystery Road. I absolutely loved the movie, and more so the sequel, Goldstone. So I knew what to expect in terms of slow pace, cinematography etc... Brilliant stuff in my opinion. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7298596/

Heard this whilst watching the excellent TV Series Mystery Road, immediately liked it. Seems a bit bonkers, especially if you watch her performance of this very song on Later With Jools Holland.

Big Cosgrove up front against Hearts for definite now! McInnes is delighted to see the 21 year-old former Carlisle United forward cap a fine display by opening his account for the club. He said: “I could talk about the merits of various players but Sam in 90 minutes, every time he has started, we haven’t lost a game. See they're now without Ikpeazu & Souttar for 5 months. No idea if that'll aid our cause or not.

Have to say, as someone who is very much into the 60's/70's & 80's, I am disappointed I'd never heard of this guy, Terry reid.

Ten Caat, McLennan said on RedTV that his shoulder popped out, but popped back in swiftly afterwards and he was able to move it freely etc... so I reckon he'll be available, especially given that we have a free week. Agree with Lencarl here, we simply must reduce the points gap, we have to get 3 points there. Our best performances have came when we've played youth and had a go, if you will, albeit against a very poor St Mirren team. I would start McLennan ahead of McGinn without hesitation if he's fit. Lewis Logan Devlin Considine Lowe Ball Shinnie McLennan Ferguson GMS Cosgrove To have the likes of Wilson & McGinn on the bench could prove useful later in the match. In any other match I would play Wilson ahead of Cosgrove, but we're going to need the ball to stick up top, and whilst Wilson is clearly a better footballer, I'm not sure he can handle the cynical Hearts bastards, Cosgrove will give as good as he gets in that respect. They will be itching to put the horror show at Sevco behind them, so I do think it's going to be more difficult than it normally is there, but if we play to our strengths and don't let them dictate with us sitting back all the time, we are more than capable of scoring. If we go there in a positive system and play to out strengths, we will win 2-1. If we go there and let them play, they'll eventually break us down and then add again when we try to push for an equaliser, reckon they'll win it 2-0.

Cometh the hour, cometh Stevie May. Obvious choice to replace Griffiths.
-
Probably doesn't merit its own thread, but here we are anyway. Maynard has a go at McInnes for failing to give him more game time, as McInnes allegedly promised him. https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/nicky-maynard-pop-aberdeen-boss-13377947

Watch our first goal again, it's actually a very good goal from start to finish. Starts with Devlin, eventually makes it way to McLennan in our half, he drives and plays a lovely forward pass into Cosgrove, who in turn plays a cracking diagonal ball out to Logan, GMS plays it back to Logan who puts in a great cross and Cosgrove is there to head into the net. A very well worked goal. McLennan was directly involved in Lowe & Cosgrove's first, and of course scored the 2nd, that was a special debut, surely he can't go away into obscurity now?
-
Gleeson played a lovely through ball to GMS, who saw his shot saved, but Forrester also played a ball out to GMS out on the wing from our own half, which was a cracker, so depends which one we're talking about.

Yesterday was the first time I have had a complaint regarding Gleeson, as I genuinely don't think he had done anything wrong in the games he's played thus far, he kept it simple, neat & tidy. But yesterday, I saw a guy that looked unhappy, could be a number of reasons, perhaps he hasn't settled, perhaps he's being lazy in training and thinks he's too good, or perhaps he is simply struggling with the Scottish Game. This is a guy who's played hundreds of games in a very difficult Championship in England, was recalled to the Republic Of Ireland squad only last year and has chipped in with 30 goals from the deep midfield role. I was aware of him at MK Dons & Birmingham, and was happy with the addition, I really want him to come good, even if I don't think he's been bad. The fact that he just sits in front of the back 4 should work well with Shinnie, given Shinnie is the energetic one, the box to box one. At the end of the day though, if Ball continues the way he has, It's going to be difficult to oust him.

A mix-up in the Aberdeen defence between Andrew Considine and Lewis Ferguson allows St Mirren to nip through and pull one back, with Simeon Jackson dinking the ball over Joe Lewis. That's how BBC Sport Scotland described St Mirren's goal. First of all, there was no mix up, second of all, it was Gleeson & not Ferguson. Amateur as fuck reporting. Anyway, good 1st half, game was won after 45 minutes, but considering we have an international break coming up, I'd have liked us to continue with the momentum, but much like the Cup game where we pumped them, we sort of dropped a gear or two. But that's being critical, and it's hard to be critical after winning 4-1. Gleeson's lazy pass aside, that was fairly comfortable. Absolutely delighted for Cosgrove, I will say it again, he must start ahead of May from now if Wilson is injured or suspended etc... As rough around the edges as he is, he's a better player than May, he holds the ball better and is obviously better aerially ( not hard with he height difference ) Logan was back to the Logan we know from his first few seasons, Lowe was excellent, Devlin & Considine looked pretty solid together & the midfield were good, GMS unusually quiet, but still did fine. Special mention to Connor McLennan, championed that kid on here a few times and he certainly took his chance, surely making it hard for McInnes to leave him out of future squad's? Interested to note regarding Forrester, Andrew Shinie said on RedTV that all of the players speak very highly of Forrester and that he's brilliant in training, perhaps he's just failing to come to terms the speed of the game up here, and to be brutally honest, I think the same can be said for Gleeson. Dom Ball though, has cemented that CDM slot along side Shinnie, he's been very good the last lot of games.

Lewis Logan Shinnie Considine GMS Cosgrove Devlin Ferguson Ball McLennan Lowe SUBS - Cerny, Forrester, Gleeson, Campbell, Anderson, Ethan Ross, Jack McKenzie Fair amount of unavailable players, James Wilson included, I really hope this guy doesn't turn out be a crock

Good enough for the lad. I wrote on this very forum, when he was on loan at us, that he would be a Premier League player without doubt, and I am glad to be proved right, but an England squad inclusion is somewhat unexpected this early, but as I said, good enough for the lad. The only thing I disliked, if you will, about him, was his diving, he went down far too easily & on occasion blatantly dived, not our problem now though. He's very self confident & that's obviously something you need as a young player.

This has came as a bit of a shock. The Celtic mob were apoplectic with it, but watching it over and over again, and perhaps with red tinted specs, I didn't think it was even remotely a foul. McKenna gets to the ball first, there is zero debate about that, but even afterwards, it was Edouard who ran into McKenna's leg and the force he did it with made McKenna spin out and that's what has made this look worse than it actually is. Edouard has today publicly said he's fit to start tomorrow night for them, it was a dead leg at worse for fuck sake.
-
I am probably in the minority here, but I like Cosgrove. For his size he is actually pretty quick, his hold up play is pretty good too, he just lacks a cutting edge, I think he has potential for sure, and I would play him ahead of May every day of the week.

That was before my time Bobby!

Be interesting to see St Mirren's line up, seeing as they've added another name from the past in Adam Hammill, to add to Simeon Jackson & Anton Ferdinand. Hammill was linked with us years ago if I remember correctly, he's much travelled down in the English Championship & league 1, but he did look quite a player at some point, and Jackson & Ferdinand both have EPL experience. I don't think it'll have any affect on the outcome, just never thought I'd see these types of players at St Mirren ( And I mean that with the greatest respect ) it's actually quite refreshing, albeit they have all probably peaked, hence why they're at St Mirren now, still refreshing.
-
Essential we collect 3 points. Any mention of Lewis Ferguson? Have a sneaky suspicion we'll revert back to 1 Striker when he's fit and available. St Mirren haven't scored under their new manager, and with our fairly solid defence, I reckon we'll keep a clean sheet. Lewis Logan Devlin McKenna Considine Ball Shinnie McGinn Ferguson GMS Wilson Maybe stick Forrester in for Ferguson if he isn't fit, game like this could be good for his confidence. Aberdeen 2 - 0 St Mirren ( Wilson, GMS )
-
They're a fucking disgusting shower of wankers. Guarantee you nobody gets asked about it and it'll all be forgotten about tomorrow. Cunts

Livingston 1-0 at HT against Rangers, really hope they hold on. Seem to be a very difficult team to break down whilst still managing to stick the ball in the net at the other end. Fair play to them.
-
Whilst a valid point, it still felt like we went there believing we could win, as opposed to going there hoping we could. I saw little signs today of our old self under McInnes & still of the opinion we should have taken at least a point. Whether that was down to us playing well or Celtic not being themselves this season remains to be seen. On the flip side, you're right in that Hearts & Hibs pull further away, Rangers most likely will tomorrow ( But come on Livingston, then again, even Livingston would go 5 points ahead of us should they win ) 9 points out of a possible 21 is pretty poor. We have scored twice in the last 5 games, one from open play. That's extremely worrying & we now hope that once James Wilson is fully fit, he starts banging them in. Should have enough to see of St Mirren next week, and obviously depending on how Hearts get on, the game at Tynecastle on the 20/10/18 now becomes extremely important even though it'll only be 9 league games in, because if we lose that, we could potentially be 13 points behind them, and that's not even having played every team once, that's a shocking stat. After 7 League games, we have scored 5 goals. Rangers ( 15 ) Hearts & Hibs ( Both 13 ) Kilmarnock ( 11 ) Celtic, St Johnstone & Motherwell ( All 7 ) Livingston & Hamilton ( Both 6 ) Have all scored more goals than us, but perhaps not surprising, we've only conceded 6 goals, only Hearts, Celtic & Livingston have conceded less. A fully fit Wilson & perhaps a new addition in the 10 role could be absolutely pivotal to us this season, we are fine defensively, the gaping problem is lack of creativity, or lack of a natural goalscorer.
-
First game post match domestically I can write something without being extremely pissed off overall. On the whole, that wasn't a terrible performance, last 20-25 minutes we faded and made some poor final passes, but we've had a good few clear cut chances & should have absolutely scored at least one of them. Was much more like ourselves against a Celtic team that are not playing well at all, I thought we limited them well enough & that was night and day from the Hibs game. We deserved a point from that, unquestionably. Still feel we're lacking that creative spark in the CAM role though, something I really hope we address ASAP. Also, hoping ( praying actually ) that Wilson was took off as a precaution, he went down holding his hamstring but seemed to walk off okay. Also, for all the flak they clowns at Rangers TV get, they cunts over at Celtic TV are much worse, and I mean that. Pair of delusional pricks and I'd happily stick the nut in both of them, cretinous wankers.

Fucking embarrassing. Scott Brown now running around with the note McInnes gave Shinnie.
