Enjoyed that 3rd goal, good energy from Max Lowe to get up and support McGinn, and then they linked up well and eventually finished very well by McGinn. Important to get that monkey off our back going into the Split, wasn't a great performance, but they rarely are at this stage of the season. 3 Points the key thing and we now have a 5 point cushion from 5th place and are now level on points with 3rd. Note also, Frank Lampard was apparently in attendance tonight, wonder if he was watching Lowe, or perhaps taking a look at McKenna? Maybe both.

Think I need to accept that it won't work out for him whilst he's here as well. Was delighted when we signed him, because it finally meant we benched the fraud that is Stevie May, and whilst Stewart is clearly a far better player, as his time at Dundee and Kilmarnock proved, it just doesn't work here, we are not getting the best out of him, but it is for various reasons, including the manager not getting the most out of him. He wanted to come back here, he was disappointed in himself last stint he had here and I respect that. I believe he appreciates the size of the club and the expectation that comes with that. I think a sustained run in the 10 position would benefit him, as opposed to being papped out wide, but it's not coming. I think it's a stretch that Rangers would be interested in him, I personally don't believe it, if I was him, I'd go back to Killie where he was clearly happy, clearly enjoying playing under the manager there and was adored by their fans, no brainer really.

We've been going backwards for a year, maybe two, now LA. Big results at various times have hidden this but there is plenty of evidence to support it, recruitment has been piss poor on the whole since the nucleus of Hayes, Rooney & McGinn started to peter out and the product on the pitch has been very confusing to say the least, in terms of what formation, shape, game plan etc... we are trying to execute. Certain players are nowhere near as good as people think they are, and I include the manager in that assessment because if he can't see it, which he can't, then he's as much to blame. I said after 3-4 league games that I genuinely worried about us this season and predicted we would not finish top 4, but maybe the cups would provide us much needed distracting, and as the season comes to its conclusion, it may well be the case. That today, in particular the 2nd half, was a fucking travesty and not for the first time this season, has left me in a fucking rage.

The cunt is a chocolate, no question, but his music is pretty decent ( In my opinion )

Feel pretty gutted for Shinnie, I never got to see the game as I was working, but I have read the fall out since and he has been getting absolutely hammered from just about everyone, your usual suspects in fat Boyd and fat Charlie Adam etc... also former players from certain former clubs, everyone has been sticking the boot in. Would have been nice to see someone coming out and sticking up for him, be it McLeish or some of his current Scotland Squad team mates! By all accounts, he admits himself he was abysmal, but he had 10 other team mates out there and as a whole, we were allegedly fucking horrendous, so harsh to single Shinnie out. If I was McLeish, I'd start Shinnie again, against San Marino, but in Midfield where he has been playing at Club level and give him his confidence back, because as bad as we are, we will comfortably beat San Marino and that will be good for his confidence.

Let's be honest, that's a bonus. Only ever seen the guy when he's playing against us or the odd Sportscene highlight, but he doesn't exactly stand out and his stats are pretty poor overall.
-
Squad player and can plug the odd gap, so on that basis I'd be happy enough to get him permanently. Agreed he's been pretty consistent since filling in for Logan, but agree also with the overall opinion that the guy isn't 1st Team Regular quality if we are to keep progressing instead of regressing.

Hearts will be 2 points behind us with a win on Saturday, so I sincerely hope we can continue our good away form. Not sure what to make of them, I did watch them against a shockingly poor Partick Thistle team in the Cup recently and thought they were as poor as Partick! Tynecastle is a bastard of a place though, they usually up their game in games like this in front of their own fans, so we need an nice early goal to take the sting out of it. Cosgrove up top on his own, with a trio of McGinn, Stewart & McLennan behind him will do nicely. Hearts 1 vs 2 Aberdeen ( Cosgrove, Lowe )
-
Probably has a lot to do with the fact he has a good engine. McInnes loves a player that runs around a lot, at the end of the day, he's not really all that creative, is he? Very underwhelmed if true and absolutely not the type of player that will keep us in and around the top 3 ( Just my opinion )

Very disappointing day, the performance was well below par and Livingston fully deserved their point. I don't know what has changed all of a sudden that has us baffled at home, we are used to teams coming up here and sitting in, it's not new to us. I think it's a mixture of certain players just not being as good as they get credit for and a bit of shocking end product. McLennan was good in flashes, like I said last week though, he needs to learn to cross, or even shoot, when the opportunity presents itself, instead he takes too many touches and tried to beat too many players, Halkett, especially in the 2nd half, dealt with him quite comfortably. May was pish again, brought absolutely nothing to the team, not sure why he's having to chase punts into the channels all the time though, too often he was on the same side as McGinn, surely just getting in each others road? Cosgrove was well below par also, he was too deep most of the time and his touch overall today was not there. The rest were below par too in all honesty, perhaps McKenna & Lowe get pass marks. Totally perplexed by McInnes bringing on a deep lying midfielder for a " Striker " ( May ) and then waiting until 4 minutes before FT to bring on another Striker in Wilson, fucking bizarre stuff, cunt was probably too feart to lose as opposed to throwing the kitchen sink at Livingston. You can't go from last Saturday's performance ( mainly 2nd Half ) and then the midweek performance to that atrocity today, it makes no sense, I think at one point in the game, we strung a few passes together which resulted in McLennan forcing a save from Kelly, was a decent bit of play, I can honestly say I don't remember us stringing another 3-4 passes together after that, was a fucking turgid showing.

Holmes & Watson. Will Ferrell & John C Reilly back together, and whilst there are some decent laughs, it's a truly awful film, surprised I watched it until the end to be honest.

Hope they don't turn up with the same attitude that they did against Stenhousemuir, St Mirren & Hamilton! We have had an almost perfect week in getting a point at Parkhead and then papping they cunts out of yet another Cup. Same intent and determination required in this game. Cosgrove will absolutely come back into the 11, and rightly so, so it's then up to McInnes to go with either Stewart or May, and whilst May did well in the circumstances against Rankgers, I'd bet on him starting Stewart ( Unless he's genuinely carrying a knock, then May should get the nod ) Would like to see Gleeson given a start, Ferguson also put in a very good shift against Rankgers & we have a tough away game to Hearts next week, a much more physical battle which will suit Ferguson better, so reinstate him back into the 11 for that, doubt it'll happen though and Ferguson will likely start both games. Will have to be patient because Livingston are pretty solid defensively, and on that note, I see the boy Halkett is going to sign a pre-contract with Hearts, reckon that'll be a very good addition for them, would like to have seen him here to be honest, very good competition for places with Halkett, Devlin, McKenna & Considine. But back to the game, they will sit everyone behind the ball and look to Counter, so as long as we aren't too gung ho, we should break them down eventually. Aberdeen 2 vs 0 Livingston ( Cosgrove x 2 )

Great day at work today, I shit you not, at least 2 huns never showed up and the excuse was " Kids unwell " or " Wind blew the fences down " etc.. etc... but they are the type of hun that genuinely don't speak when they lose any game, so their excuses are all the sweeter, I'll see them tomorrow Last night was tremendous. First of all, I want to get my bit in about May & Ferguson, 2 players I have often criticised, to an extent, but last night they put in monumental shifts and their involvement in McLennan's goal was brilliant. McKenna & Considine were sheer bricks, McKenna was throwing himself at absolutely everything and he pulled it off every single time. No complaints to a man, I just wish we showed that desire, fight and grit in EVERY game, the games against your Hamilton's and St Mirren's this season etc... And Elgin, I just had a gut feeling this past week, both Celtic & Rangers, that we wouldn't lose, I actually thought we'd beat Celtic too, but I'll take the draw and a win
-
Have another good feeling about this tonight. Our biggest problem will be up front without question. We can't aim punts up to Cosgrove, but no doubt we'll still lump balls forward! I think May will start, meaning whoever is in the 10 role, will be a very busy man tonight, they will have to get in and around the box as much as possible as well as no doubt have a man marking job, because May will be chasing balls into the channels. We will soak up the early pressure, this is vital, if they get an early goal then I'd fancy them to add another 1 or 2, but if we soak up the pressure, we can grow into the game, much like Saturday there, and this time, take our chances. Rangers 1 vs 2 Aberdeen ( Shinnie, Stewart )

Direct quote from McKenna " We’ve had two draws against the Rangers and Celtic in the last couple of games "
-
I thought he took a deliberate " stumble " after he realised he'd fucked up. But likewise, I shall readily admit I was wrong. ( About the chance, not his total lack of confidence in front of goal )
-
Not much to write home about 1st Half, but we did frustrate them and limited them to the odd long range strike and a host of Corners. 2nd Half was a vast improvement. McLennan got into a couple of good positions in where he should had curled a few efforts at goal, but he took too many touches or tried too many step-overs etc... so that was disappointing. But some positives to take as well, young Campbell was pretty good, Ball was also pretty good but Max Lowe was the MOTM by a Country Mile, Celtic had to change their wide right player on a couple of occasions because they were getting zero joy from Lowe, defensively, he was excellent. I thought it might be a good idea to start May in the 3 behind Cosgrove, because he makes runs into the channels that could have stretched the Celtic defenders etc... but yet again, he has another opportunity to find the back of the net, from around 7 yards, with a free header, and he fucking balloons it well wide and well over. Meanwhile, young Bruce Anderson scores again for Dunfermline, obviously that doesn't mean he'd have scored that opportunity May missed, it just means that we let the wrong player go out on loan. The difference in confidence was as evident as it could be before we let Anderson go out on loan, but it's okay, May runs a lot.

Agreed Ball at RB was a daunting prospect Rocket, but to be fair to him, he's performed reasonably well in the last few games, so I think that's the least of our worries today. I am genuinely confident that we will turn them over today, no idea why, just feel McInnes has Lennon worked out tactically and Lennon's been back at Celtic long enough now to reinstate his style, if that makes sense. I am pleasantly surprised that he hasn't felt the need to ditch a forward player for Devlin, that's intent, they just need the right mindset, I have accused McInnes numerous times of not applying that in these types of games, but today is the day he changes that, and carries it into Tuesday against those fucking rat bastards. COYR!
-
Correct me if I am wrong, but hasn't McInnes got a relatively decent record against Lennon ( With his spells at Celtic & Hibs? ) I think he knows how to set up against him and is very familiar with his tactics etc... So you just never know! I don't think Celtic are any great shakes, I don't think it's a game we should go into changing the whole setup and be negative, I'd start Cosgrove, the Celtic CB's don't necessarily enjoy playing against him, as evidenced in the 4-3 game at Pittodrie, he makes them uneasy, granted a part of that was our pressing but he definitely played his part in that. Back 4 of Ball McKenna Considine Lowe with Shinnie and Ferguson ( I'd say Glesson, but it is not going to happen ) sitting, and take your pick of the 3 supporting players, I'd actually play May, his runs into the channels could be useful in the larger pitch, granted he will bring absolutely zero goal threat, but he can cause problems and that will help the other attacking players on the pitch. Celtic 0 vs 3 Aberdeen ( Considine, Cosgrove, Stewart ) COYFR!
-
Personally don't remember him playing there for us, absolutely certain he's been out wide every game I have seen.
-
I am referring to Gleeson TC, not Stewart, as DeeDon has spotted. Although, having said that, I'd still play Stewart over May every day of the week if he was playing beside, or just behind, Cosgrove, and not out wide. Stevie May has had more than enough opportunities and hasn't taken them, it really is as simple as that, he's not produced the goods and Cosgrove has 7 in his last 6 without May in the team ( I think ) so I don't see how dropping May has any bearing on our poor home form.
-
Glad we never got a doing as many feared, I myself thought we would lose, but knew it'd never be a doing. Off to a good start, never let them play how they wanted to play and deserved our advantage at HT. Their goal was totally avoidable, awful from Stewart but equally awful from Ferguson and Cosgrove from the resulting corner. After that it really could have gone either way, Considine has missed a coupe of very good chances, none more so than his unmarked header But wasn't to be. A little disappointed that we never went for it as the game came to a close, we were clearly happy to take the replay, which of course is winnable, but they will be favourites. Regarding Ferguson, that was a typical performance from him, I have said it time and again on here, the lad has potential, yes, but he's not good enough for the 11 in my honest opinion, his cause has been helped greatly with some pretty massive goals, but take they goals away and analyse his performances, they have not been good enough, apologies to the sycophants who can't get enough of his amateur passing and constant gifting of needless fouls etc... but it's true, the very same applies to Stevie May, people are actually blaming us dropping him for our abysmal form, conveniently forgetting that Cosgrove is still scoring without him in the team. Play Stewart in his natural fucking position and stop papping him wide and we will see far more productivity than May would ever bring. Just my opinion, but we'd do well to drop Ferguson and play the guy who has excellent pedigree in the English Championship, clearly looks far more composed on the ball and literally has misplaced one pass in his limited game time. I anticipate some posters will now be spitting feathers, but I look forward to be proved wrong. Back to today, better effort, more organised with the 4 at the back ( no shit sherlock ) and a few opportunities missed. Have to ask why the same isn't applied to the likes of Stenhousemuir at home, or St Mirren, or Hamilton etc... but we'll take it. Onto the next one, similar effort and intent required at Celtic Park.

Game day! Not long until we discover our 11 for the game, hoping for a sensible but positive line up. If we do our jobs defensively, we can score at the top end and sneak this, but it's imperative we don't let them start on the front foot, we need to grind the game into a shitfest and then dictate ourselves. COYFR!
