Aye the Beach End was ace as a young loon.liked the wee wing stand too.In the Main stand now,I do like it there...old quirky, plenty character,and the food queues are a fraction of the SS ones. Winna miss the SS queues,or standing on the Y in a storm.Pittodrie looks a bit of a carbunkle these days.Needs pulled down,time to move on..

Just back from a few days in Achilitibuie.I've always avoided this area,associating it with a sort of '70s OAP holiday destination,along with Gairloch,Poolewe etc.We were there for 4 days for our annual fishing/walking break(normally go to Harris). What a cracking little place.Great views over the summer isles from our S/C accom.Loads of varied walks into the hills,along the coast,trips out to the islands.Couthy cafes,and a bar along the road.Helps when the weather is never below 20oC,but thoroughly recommend.The fishing was good too IMG_4735 (2) by , on Flickr

Forecast looking good for most places the next couple of weeks,and nicely timed as a few of us go S/C up near Achilitbuie this next week for an annual bit of fishing,walking,and sunsets with a beer hopefully. Last weekend,we made a late dash to get to Blaven(Bla Bheinn) on Skye for a summit sunset.Blaven is one of the 4 easier Cuillin Munros,along with Sgurr nan Eag,Sgurr nan Banachdich,and Bruach na Frithe.Easier,though a head for heights is handy. Parked at the Torrin car park on the road to Elgol from Broadford,about 10 miles after Broadford. Very similar to me last night.Supping some Brewdog outside(not a regular tipple for me),and by 8 pm i was thinking, What the heck, am i wrecked or just tired.Bed by 9pm. I could blame the working outside in excessive heat(15oC ) but maybe yours is a better explanation

Canna believe our final points tally given the ratio of mediocre performances this season. To be fair to Derek,I think we have to consider that there doesnt seem to be a large pool of players out there of the standard that we want to attract,let alone being available at the right time which might partially explain the imbalance of the positions he filled?Look at some of the names being bandied about.....Ali Crawford,Michael O'Halloran etc.Decent but nae exactly inspiring(though we would have been jizzing ourselves at the prospect a couple of years ago). If we can find the right midfield pairing initially,and work out from there,we wont go far wrong.Who that pairing is I have no idea....
