  1. Was going to mention him too but I thought because we hadn't seen Vidal play in his natural position yet that I couldn't comment. But Foster is NOT the answer, and that is for sure! I quite like Duff as a player, but he is most certainly a squad player and does his job fine.
  2. I would also add Heikkenen to that list. Nicholson was a completely different player to him but we have replaced him with a younger and potentially better player. I think we have had adequate replacements for most of the team that has been lost.
  3. I agree with that. Just seems we seem to go in circles every season, take one step forward and two steps back when these key players leave and are not suitably replaced (immediately).
  4. As rubbish as a player he is, he works his socks off for the team and has scored some very important goals. I think pre-season against a big team would make sense and i'd certainly go.
  5. Good read that! Love the bit about Jamie Smith and Deek!
  6. I like your optimism But I would have thought the fact he even made appearances for the city first XI would mean he's out of our price range. But as you said, you don't ask, you don't get. I'm sure Jimmy has a few players up his sleave. Oh and P.S. It wasn't directed at you, just an open ended question, because obviously I couldn't put
  7. As much as I have slated Seve in the past and found him truly annoying in the past few seasons with apparent lack of care or respect for AFC, he has come back into a bit of a game this season. I don't find it a coincidence that the team has been playing well with him either. But I do think we'll be able to replace him, its just whether or not the team around the replacement gell with the team. I genuinely feel that our team has come leaps and bounds this season and there is real progress within the side. It will be a same to see if all take a step back again. But who knows, maybe the change will be good ? ? ?
  8. You make it sound so sinister I'd merely call it a minor culling of the in firm
  9. That journalist is a complete fud. Never read such rubbish in my life! Epitomises the paper he writes for.
  10. Here's hoping eh At the end of the day, we are only a point behind them with a nice goal difference. We didn't really lose any ground over them on the weekend which is what I'm pleased about. I'm surprised neither have these have been made sultana games.
  11. Quite gutted about these two getting wins on saturday but the important thing is to stay in touch with them. The games on 14th and 21st will be so important for us. But obviously we have the Falkirk game before that, but I think we should get a result against them. I even think that maybe not being third might be a blessing as this means we won't be in the media and the players won't feel the pressure for the race for third. February should be an interesting month.
  12. Don't get me wrong, I was left disappointed, but it could have been worse. Through a number of factors we just weren't able to break them down and didn't look like playing much football. As I said, we didn't lose or concede and I think thats how we have to view this. No point in dwelling on what could have been, however frustrating. I still can't believe Mackie's header didn't go in but these things happen, especially when Mackie plays
  13. Agreed, I think its a shame as I thought he was coming into a game. I was very surprised he didn't come on on Saturday. I wonder if we will replace him. As he was one of the few footballers in our squad!
  14. Exactly, its not like we were robbed. No team deserved to win that game, despite how close Mackie's header was. We preserved our unbeaten run at home and most importantly kept a clean sheet. Stoney, I cannot see how this can be viewed negatively? Yes, in a dream world I would have liked the 6/6 but Rangers were set up in a manner to stiffle any attacking play. The midfield was rammed so I'm not surprised/upset by this result at all.
  15. Certainly agree with him, I predicted 4 and I am happy with 4/6 points gained from the infirm! The confidence won't have been damaged at all from these results and can only be a good thing that hopefully the defence will be that bit more confident in Bossu's "abilities" should he ever have to replace Langfield again.
  16. Didn't see anyone in section X getting lobbed out, but was speaking to Mizer and he was saying folk in the Y were getting lobbed out for shouting Hun! It all seems a bit ridiculous!
  17. Thought Vidal did fine considering the game he made his debut in. It was bad viewing but he looked composed and seemed more than capable of making good passes (always a bonus in our team ). I couldn't understand though why he didn't come on for Foster. Seemed like the obvious change, but i'm not the manager.
  18. Aye it was nice to see the Y - South Stand - RDS all singing in unison on occassions yesterday! Was a good atmosphere yesterday! RE: Ultras, its a shame they can't be moved to the RDL or elsewhere in the South Stand, I always enjoyed seeing their displays, poor show from the authorities
  19. You don't ask, you don't get According to MAD: Should be close to a sell out. What is our actual capacity?
  20. Was going to say the same, the two occassions i've been to tynie has been as a student (2007 and 08)
  21. He not that polish keeper we signed in the summer after he attended one of our camps?
  22. Very true with what he is saying, however, 16 games left, the league is in our grasps
  23. I agree with that! BB I know you weren't disagreeing with him, don't think I got my point across very well. I know the club doesn't make money from such schemes and it would be the lesser games they would be introduced for, but I think I was just trying to say, something should be done, as it doesn't look good watching football with thousands of empty seats. The club just don't seem very pro-active (openly anyway) on this situation. A busier stadium will appeal to younger fans and increase the chances of them coming back. Especially if they are in a group with their mates from school. ST, I don't want to steal your thunder
  24. I agree with this, makes a lot of sense and is something the club should consider. Have you e-mailed them your thoughts? BB surely this could be done once a month or so? The club would probably make more from merchandise etc? Obviously we can't let kids go in for free every week as it doens't make business sense, but a full Pittodrie is what we all want, and hell the team seems to enjoy it more.
