Was going to say the same thing! Finals or semi finals mean nothing unless you are victorious. We have finished above the Arabs every year since JC has been in charge. There really is no argument to be had between the two managers apart from that CL seems to have the better of JC in "head to head" encounters.

I think that my stance lies with both of you. Call it sitting on the fence if you will but I think both ST and Stoney (I feel dirty ). I fully acknowledge that the majority of the players at AFC currently would not have considered signing for the club without JC being at the helm, however there are a number of occassions he does seem to fails to get the best out of them on a consistent basis. We should be aiming for 3rd season in season out AND winning a trophy. I think its got to the stage whereby I would take an 7th place position to get a Scottish Cup. But I do not think that this squad wouldn't be able to achieve both 3rd AND a cup. We clearly have the squad to do this, they just need to apply themselves better. I do not buy this pish that JC spouts at times about his time coming to an end at the club. He is yet to achieve the winning of a trohpy. He has done great things for the club, and I am grateful for this, but he needs to win us a trophy, and then I will not begrudge him a move away from us.

From the highlights I would say Seve, and I actually was wondering how we actually lost that game! As I said this is from watching the highlights so cannot get an accurate assessment of the game! If we'd have taken our chances, we wouldn't have had any bother whatsoever.

I agree, Mackie and Foster should have been no-where near the starting line up today, however, do you think maybe, just maybe, JC thought he would give them a chance to correct their wrong doings by putting in a good performance? Granted, neither of them did, but just a thought like. I was raging as the next to see them still on the team sheet but this is what I expect from JC. Confusion. Or, unpredictable pre game "excitement" (I use the word very loosely), in that you actually never know (or in this always know) who is going to be on the team sheet. See that would be fine, providing we actually turned up. But from what i've read/heard, we didn't and it isn't the first time. We ALWAYS follow up good results with some ridiculous ones like today and Hamilton. Teams we should beat with very little trouble, but we don't. I think its more frustration than anything else because we know we're so close to third and yet the players/management just don't seem to be able to achieve it logically! God this result is just so typically Aberdeen. We have an opportunity to do something and go third what with both Arabs and Farts losing today, and we blow it. Too much paper talk again, I suppose the warning signs were there. But we will bounce back and have a successful February, I'm sure of it... Odd Month January has been. The easiest two games we lost and won/drew the hardest ones.
