20/21 Loan Player Watch

Thought Al had done one for this season, but turns out it was for the last.

First up, Ethan Ross.  seems to be getting rave reviews at Raith.  Fingers crossed he's given the chance to make the step up into the first team. Like the other two we have out on loan, his contract ends in May 2021 though.

  • I get the impression there is with Arbroath as it allows players to still train full time with club.    Not sure there is a plan for style of play however.

Made his debut yesterday and kept a clean  sheet.

Mind if was against Fort William.

He's lucky that he doesn't play for Fort William. How demoralising would that be.

@Jute what’s happened to Hernandez and Atlanta? Seemed like he was getting decent game time until his birthday?

He was only getting game time because their first choice right back Brooks Lennon was injured.

What Slim said. If this was a genuine loan we would have recalled him by now. Didn’t get off the bench again in last nights 1-1 draw.

Hernandez was a 67th minute sub in Atlanta United’s 0-0 draw with New York. Was watching this game but it was not a great game and fell asleep before Hernandez got on. Draw means Atlanta have made post season play offs.

Michael Ruth played 62 minutes of Falkirk’s 1-1 draw with Alloa.

Connor Barron played full game and Kieran Ngwenya was a 62nd minute sub in Kelty’s 1-0 win over Cowdenbeath.

Mark Gallagher was 22nd minute sub for Forfar in their 2-1 win over Elgin.

Tom Ritchie conceded 5 as Huntly lost 5-2 to Forres. Jack MacIver also played full 90 for Huntly.

Hernandez started Atlanta’s game against Cincinnati. Subbed of after 68 minutes. Atlanta won 2-1 scoring in 70 and 79 minutes after being 1-0 down at half time.

Michael Ruth scored 1 created another in Falkirk’s 3-0 win at Dumbarton.

Conor Barron played full 90 minutes and Kieran Ngwenya was 91st minute sub in Kelty’s 1-0 win over Forfar. Mark Gallagher was unused sub for Forfar.

Jack Milne was 75th minute sub in Brechin’s 5-0 win over Formartine.

Tom Ritchie and Jack MacIver played 90 minutes of Huntley’s 1-0 defeat to Inverurie.

Would we not be better keeping these guys in our reserve team rather than have them sit on the bench every week in League 2/Highland League? Instead loan out the players we actually see a future for to a Championship level team. We’ve got a lot of players out on loan and the highest level we have them playing at is bottom half of League 1 (not including Hernandez).

Good experience for them regardless. Competitive games against men. They'll train with us during the week too for the most part. No different to guys sitting on our bench really. Also, if they're not going to make it with us, it'll help them get used to being part of a different squad as well as a bit of an advert for them, and avoiding sitting at Cormack park feeling unwanted.

Better then being out on loan than not playing for us. However I would rather see some of these guys getting the game time given to dross like Jenks and Samuels.

Michael Ruth played 90 minutes of Falkirk’s 1-0 defeat to Montrose.

Conor Barron scored Kelty’s first in their 2-0 win over Stenhousemuir (that name still causes some horrible flash backs) and Kieran Ngwenya played full game.

Mark Gallagher played 62 minutes of Forfar’s 3-0 win over Cowdenbeath.

Jack Milne played 74 minutes of Brechin’s 5-0 win over Lossiemouth.

Tom Ritchie and Jack MacIver both played in Huntly’s 4-3 defeat from Wick.

Hernandez on the bench for Atlanta United’s play off game with New York City. Currently 0-0.

If an one wishes to cheer on our American overlords it’s on Freesports just now.

ETA: Atlanta lost 2-0 and Hernandez never got off the bench. With Atlanta eliminated wonder if Hernandez will return to Dons.

Michael Ruth was only one of loan players to play today as it is cup day. Played 90 minutes of Falkirk’s 2-1 defeat from Raith Rovers. Raith’s winner scored by ex Don Ethan Ross.

Fact we allowed Ruth to play today and therefore making him cup tied is odd.

Ryan Duncan was unused sub for Peterhead in their 2-2 draw with Clyde. First time he has made the bench apparently.

Michael Ruth was subbed off at half time in Falkirk’s 6-0 defeat to Queens Park.

Mark Gallagher was 89th minute sub for Forfar in their 3-2 win away to Albion Rovers.

In amongst the new contract stuff. I'm sure I read that Ryan Duncan had been injured. Hence not playing.

Michael Ruth was 68th minute sub in Falkirk’s 3-0 defeat from Cove.

Ryan Duncan came off the bench in 62 minutes to score Peterhead’s equaliser in their 1-1 draw with East Fife.

Kieran Ngwenya played full game and Connor Barron played 68 minutes of Kelty’s 6-1 win over Albion Rovers.

Mark Gallagher was unused sub for Forfar in their 2-0 win over Stirling.

Jack Milne was 81st minute sub for Brechin and missed his penalty in the shoot out as they exited from the Scottish Cup following 2-2 draw with Darvel.
