Possibly not but I suppose Gunn's dad is Scottish so no one would have questioned him.

Harvey will quite obviously get more scrutiny with the timing of his potential switch but I wonder if any of us would have been talking about him if we were in a play off rather than already there.

I think the grandparent angle will always make you ask how "scottish" do you have to be to make everyone accept you.

I don’t think the argument is eligibility, that hasn’t changed in years. I think the issue is him Possibly only wanting to play for us now that we are in the World Cup, even though he’s never been approached or rejected us.
It’s my understanding Gunn took some convincing to play too, and declined mcleish in 2018 before accepting in 2023 when we were desperate. Don’t recall the same push back at that time.

we’re limited in talent, I don’t see an influx of mediocre players replacing legit Scots. I think Barnes is the only one and provides something we clearly lack. I just want us to put up a good showing, and adding Barnes helps us.

I can't think of a Scottish player better than Mbappe, but I wouldn't want him in the Scotland squad either.

No, because that's what club football is. Players can move freely from club to club. Ibrahimovic has played for both Milan clubs. Sometimes it leaves a sour taste (like Miovski) but it's club football, it happens.

If you make international football like club football, then what's the point in it? I think you said in a previous post other countries are picking players not even remotely linked to that country - that's not right. 

I'm not saying Scotland should use the grandparent rule, I'm saying it shouldn't be a thing at all.

Should be the parent rule (because that's  jus sanguinis, so there is no argument over McTominay or Dykes' nationalities). 

I'll accept the grandparent rule only if they have also lived in Scotland for a certain period of time (I think it's five years in rugby).

Like I said, he should have been told to ram it too. (Although, granted, he is at least Scottish by parent).
